Anyone else having issues playing W8 games? I keep getting an error saying the store isn't available and it's not letting my start anything that requires my xbox account. I've tried it on 2 different W8 devices with the same result. My WP games still work fine.
I've been having the same problem for at least the last three days. Some people on my TA friends feed have the same thing too, so definitely a wide spread issue.

About 2 weeks ago my 1020 stopped dimming the screen when in battery saver. Probably is doing some other stuff to save battery too. Messed around with the settings, including manually turning on battery saver until next charge. Nothing worked, so I'm hoping somebody else had this problem and know how to fix it.

Had already bought all the Angry Birds games except Classic. I don't feel bad about having spent $0.99 on each one though since the extensive amount of content each one has is well worth the previous price. Thankfully, the games don't require ridiculous microtransactions to get anywhere.

My bad. Should've mentioned that they were WP. I wouldn't be surprised if Rovio makes those free in the near future or adds cross-buy. They love giving out free stuff that people would pay for.

100 free albums on Xbox Music. They aren't a bunch of no name bands, lots of good ones from a variety of genres.

Is there a way to delete songs from phone, but not cloud? It wants to delete them from both.

How do I download the albums? I have no clue and can only stream them

Red Stripe on WP is Shark Dash for $0.99

This game was given away for free last year, but it was listed as a separate game. If you plan on buying, double check that you don't already own the free one.

Looks like Plants vs. Zombies is going to be the WP Red Stripe Deal. Shows as $1.49 on the marketplace. Might finally get it this time since that's the cheapest it's ever been.

There's another free game called "Total Conquest" under Xbox, but like Angry Birds Epic, shows Live Enabled but is not.

That's a great price for a fantastic game. However, as usual it's something I already own.

You have to tap the album you want, tap the button with the price, then the actual Music app will load up. Tap the price and then choose download. Yes, you have to actually download the music which make no sense. What if I'm on cell signal at the time and don't want to eat up precious bandwidth???

Correct me if I'm wrong on that. Please correct me...

They also have some $1.99 box sets on sale as well. I grabbed a Frank Sinatra collection 96 songs for $1.99
The 1.99 box sets might have been better than the free albums. The doors, johnny cash, james brown. Oh my sweet almighty.

I noticed the live store tile flashed Total Conquest with xbox integration a week or so ago, so I downloaded it and found no Live integration. If you go to the game's website, Gameloft has several games listed as "with xbox" or something like that, but they do not have live integration. Wanted to post it, but only having mobile access squashed that idea. Thank goodness I've finally got real internet and a pc and keyboard again.

I did so by hooking my Lumia 925 to my PC and using the Windows Phone App. Once the phone is connected to the PC, start up the app and it should list all the music stored on your phone. Select the songs/albums you want to delete and and message will pop up making sure you want to delete the files from your phone. I did so and the music is still in my cloud, but off my phone.

On a tangent, I purchased/downloaded a lot of free music from Xbox Music while at work on their Wi-Fi. However, it would appear that the music continued to download once I left work as I was later greeted by a message stating that I reached my 2GB limit :p

I saw that too last week. I think they meant that the game has cross platform saving.

The same thing happened to me. Since WP8(.1) is so insistent on restricting non-WiFi downloads, I wrongfully assumed the music would not continue downloading once I disconnected from WiFi. Now I'm throttled until the last week of December.

Conversely, I noticed that it would download off wifi so I stopped purchasing music. Because I was without internet until the end of the week, I missed out on the stuff they pulled early. I would gladly give up the bandwidth it would have taken to get the doors for $2 :(

I think you can turn off cellular data and it will only use WiFi to download stuff. That's what I do, but I'm not sure if it works because I'm usually at places with WiFi anyways.

Have there been any good deals on any 8.1 phones lately?  I would not want/need anything with a contract or even cell service.  Just would use it over Wi-Fi for games.

Is there still a ram issue with phones that have less than 1gb of ram?
Phones with less than 1 GB still kinda suck, and they keep making them... Even the Lumia 635 I got my daughter for Christmas only has 512 MB of RAM. But for $40 on Thanksgiving, I couldn't say no.

BTW everyone, Sonic Dash is now available on WP8! Sega's back! And it runs on 512 MB devices, whoo.

Well there are a handful of games you can't run, and a couple of games are a tad slow on a 1/2 a GB. The majority though are fine. I was pretty pleased with my 521 when I had it. My 1GB phone is obviously better, but you can't beat the price.

Is Tiny Troopers a game that you need an internet connection at all times? For those who have downloaded it, what type of game does it play like?

I just finished the game. No internet connection needed. If you remember older games like Cannon Fodder or Ikari warriors, it's sorta like that. Actually, now that I think about it, it's also like Wolf of the Battlefield on XBLA.

I expected it to be complete crap, but ended up enjoying the game quite a bit.

Thought this was funny

Uploaded from phone and didn't realize how big it was.

Thanks for the update Bob. Hopefully we Windows Phone users get a sale this holiday season soon. Maybe some new, fresh deals instead of these repeats. Deeper discounts is asking too much lol

After the 8.1 update, is there no way to filter Xbox games alone in the games store? Played around with it a bit but didn't see anything.
Games > Genres > Xbox

However, I don't think it lists all of them.

Yeah, since the Cortana update, the Xbox filter is missing a good amount of Xbox Live Enabled games. You pretty much need to go to an achievement site like True Achievements or XboxAchievements and do a sort order of all WP8 games available to see everything there is. Then manually use the search function for it in the WP store. TA has links to the store as well.

Picked up a used Lumia 928 on ebay.  Seems like a pretty nice phone.  Glad I can finally get in on some of these WP8 only games.

Is there a way to 'buy' the free albums that are being offered from Xbox Music and not have to download them all?

King had a change of heart? Candy Crush Saga is now on WP. Not a fan myself, so I couldn't care less, but this is definitely a good sign. WP may have some life in it after all.

On another note. I got fed up with T-Mobile and switched my service to Cricket today. They gave me a free Lumia 635. Seems like a nice little phone, especially for the price, but I am definitely going to stick with my 822. I'll give this one to my 4-year old to play with I guess.

Help I've been kidnapped and brought to an alien planet where Gameloft gives a shit about Windows Phone games.
Don't give them too much credit. They finally figured out that a hell of a lot more people download their crappy games when achievements are involved.

They are also updating ones that already have achievements (like Uno).

EDIT: Microsoft Bingo is on WP now. Some reviews are a couple days old, but I just noticed it today.
