Yeah, I have microsoft points saved on my live account so that would have been great, I am currently in a Sprint family plan so I was looking at the HTC Arrive as it's essentially the only phone they have.

Hmmmm, I just tried through the Zune marketplace and it just says looking for Windows phone tied to my e-mail, and the buy button is grayed out :( Thanks for the suggestion though, it didn't hurt to try!
I have sprint too. Arrive is a solid phone and my only gripe is no forward facing camera and screen size should be a hint larger. Other than that the key board is perfect, perhaps the best on a phone. the keys are solid, large, and works great for my word documents. I want that lumia i900 though
So I assume zombies on the phone will be dotw since it doodle was offered for Easter sale and was the only game with similar votes for players choice

I'm with Verizon...one option for a Windows phone and it's a year old. As I wait, I picked up a used HTC HD7 from Craig's List just to play these games. Bought all of the 99c sale games...cheap Gamerscore!
Ah that sucks. You couldn't use MS points anyway, only real money via CC (other than for some DLC that uses MS Points).

@tyler the Quest mode was a lot more interesting imo. The base "game" was a lot of guess and check and does get repetitive. Even funnier is MS censored some answers like "Alcoholic" and "Sex" are not answers in the WP7 version.
Ah, I was unaware of the MS points thing, thanks for the heads up. I have a card as well so I can just use that but I thought Microsoft would centralize those points since it's for a LIVE feature.

I bought Doodle God and they charged me twice i called customer support and after they fixed my problem he added 800ms points to my xbox account because of the problem.
Unrelated - why can't I see Toy Soldiers in my list to buy? Anyone else have that problem?
I didnt see it in zune. I just used the marketplace website.

I've had my WP7 about a month and only tried a few free games. (I am not big on handheld gaming) I was going to finally buy my first game - Angry Birds and I see its on sale. I picked up Angry Birds, de Blob and Max & the Magic Marker for .99 each.

Anyone know how to reset Doodle God to get the No Hint achievements?

I just got done with the last quest and took a look at the achievements, just reset the elements for chapter 1 and no dice. Bleh. -_-

As far as I know, you have to reinstall the game. :(

Quests were ok, except the 20th century one wasn't very good either. Episodes 3 and 4 felt entirely unnecessary as well. And yeah, when looking for guides on the game I noticed they removed Sex, Alcoholic, Vodka, Tobacco, and Cigarette from the WP version. Kinda funny.

My biggest gripe about the Arrive is the screen size as well, I look at my friend's AT&T phones and get jealous.

As for ZotP, common sense says to put it as DotW sometime in April. However, I get the feeling that Doodle God won and that's the one we'll see as DotW, common sense be damned!
Monster Island coming to Windows Phone next week

I finally got my head around Civ Revolution and played it till my phone died this morning... So dang addictive. But oh how it needs a better tutorial.
How different is it from the 360/PS3 version? I downloaded the demo when it came out but with the Easter sale haven't even checked it out yet.

EDIT: Another Angry Birds-style game? Bleck!

If anybody cares, Sid meiers Pirates is already up for sale.
Pretty cool.

Anybody else try Wordament? Its listed as n XBL game but no achievement support????.
free though...

Not sure what's up with wordament, I think it's supposed to have achievements.

Also, dotw appears to be, if I remember correctly, one of eastx favorites. 3d brick breaker. ;)

Its correct for Wordament to not have achievements seeing as it shows up under the "Other" section for your games once its downloaded. Its not an xbl title. Don't know why it shows up under that when you're in marketplace.

They're making it an Xbox Live title, with achievements and other fun features. My guess is someone flipped a switch too early and it's showing up on the store. My guess is also that it disappears shortly and will reappear once everything's done.

(watch the vid, it's the very first game previewed)

alrighty then. Yah maybe this is a beta? Who knows. Any word if the final game will be free?

It will be free and supported by ads, just like the indie version.

Nice list. My top 6 would include, in no particular order:

Plants vs. Zombies
Ilomilo
Hydro Thunder GO
Gravity Guy
Farm Frenzy 2
Star Wars Cantina

Yeah, I wish I had included ilomilo in there somewhere. And I still can't believe you like Star Wars Cantina that much, heh heh.
Still waiting for Monster Island to come out today.
You're going to be waiting for another week... I don't post news links just for Tyler, cool as he is.
Pirates is a lot of fun.
Still trying to nail down the strategy.

Really awesome to see wp7 getting something beyond casual games
Agreed. Wasn't there a long list of WA titles releasing soon? Also rovio a new developer coming?

Do you mean WP? I keep a list of upcoming titles in the second post. It's missing a few EA titles as I really can't tell which ones will be Xbox Live and which won't.

have those all been confirmed? A u.s. Release for Deal or no Deal? Yes please.

And weren't those other Game Chest games canned like a year ago? Or are they back on the table?

The other Game Chest and Game Room games are probably cancelled, but I keep them on the list for nostalgic reasons. Some games on the list may only come to Europe - it's hard to tell sometimes.

What's this Star Wars Cantina that was mentioned on the previous page? The closest thing I can find in the marketplace is EUCantina and it doesn't sound at all like a game.

Ah, okay, I see that in the OP now. Thanks for clarifying. I'm not a big Star Wars fan anymore, but it bugged me that I couldn't find it. Heh.

EastX (or anyone) care to weigh on the 3d brick breaker achievements. I know eastx said they suck, but I saw you got 120/200 on the game. How long did that take you?

Yeah, when I read the Windows Phone blog post about these drops a couple days ago, it sounded like they were permanent. Nice to see confirmation of that, and as you said in your article, hopefully this starts a trend.

Thanks for the info about 3D Brick Breaker. I don't usually pass on $2 games, but I think I'm going to this time. Maybe Zombies on teh Phone is coming for this week's DotW, considering Doodle God was dropped to $0.99.

Great writeup on Wordament, EastX. Answered a lot of questions I had, I'm really looking forward to it.

Was there a change in how much Gamerscore was allowed for free games? I thought I remember hearing it got bumped up to 200GS, but I could be mistaken.
My guess is he meant EA titles.

I really hope NBA Jam makes it as a live title.
Sorry guys. Yes, I meant ea titles. Autocorrect turned it to WA and I didn't catch it. Thanks.

I also initially thought the .99 was price drops and am happy that is the case. Now if only more can follow, and perhaps two live titles per week. Please. :)
I'm actually enjoying 3d Brick Breaker, worth $2 IMO.
I'll buy it tonight if the PlayStation store update doesn't have anything good on sale. I mean, I gotta buy at least 1 downloadable game per week, right?!?

Now that's positive thinking! :whee:

Haha. Yeah. I know. :D

Btw-looks like kinectimals is dotw. 1.99 price! And the monster island is already up too! All a day early! Woohoo

Kinectimals? Sweet!

And I think Doodle God may have won, but considering it was part of the big price drops, I assume (and hope) we'll get Zombies next week.
