Check out the $0.99 games, a lot of them are pretty decent (Fruit Ninja, Max & the Magic Marker, De Blob, Feed Me Oil, Burn the Rope, IonBallEX). Oh and make sure to grab all the free ones besides Bug Village too.

PvZ is definitely must have. Hydro Thunder is great.

are all of those .99 cent games permanent price drops or temporary? I have fable coin golf, toy soldiers bootcamp, hydro thunder and fruit ninja..plus all the free games of course

They're all permanent.

DoDonPachi is definitely worth it. I bought it on day one.

It's way better than the upcoming Shoot 1UP. Tried that at E3 and it's good but it just doesn't hold up to DDP.

I feel like buying a new game. Looking for something $2.99, pick up and play for short spurts, and hasn't been on sale in the last 10 months. Any recommendations? Anyone get battleship yet?

I don't know if anybody needs help with Final Fantasy's Half-Minute Hacker (beating the 15 puzzle game in 30 seconds) but I learned a good way to do it. Use the link on the WPCentral site (http://www.wpcentral.com/xbox-live-final-fantasy-secret-achievements-and-mini-achievement-guide) and download that program, then when you hit back and it asks if you are sure you want to back out leave the screen up since that pauses the timer and you'll see half of the board so you can input that part, then if you flip your phone to rotate the screen you'll briefly see the other half and if you keep doing that it will make it easier to write in all of the numbers before resuming, then what I did was made about 4 moves at a time and then kept hitting back to pause it on the yes/no screen.

Taking a picture would also help but just wanted to throw that out there since it's what I did :p

Its awesome to see a WP thread here on CAG. I had the Dell Venue Pro which I loved before i dropped it and completely destroyed the screen. I'm using a Titan now. Microsoft's Surface Tablet looks freaking amazing! Day one purchase of the Pro version for me.
The high-end Surface tablet does indeed look awesome. I'm definitely buying a Windows 8 tablet - might just have to make it that one.

Also, this will make some of ya's happy: Fling comes to Xbox Live this week
was hoping for a free game. When dies that contract killer come out?

But .99 ain't bad.

I'm not sure which one I'll go for, more than likely depends on the price. And woohoo for $0.99 games! I'll grab Fling day one, I liked it on Miniclip's site. Those puzzles can get really hard really quickly though.

Surface definitely looks good, but I doubt I'll ever get one because I really have no need for a tablet. I just bought an Android tablet for $42 so I can play certain games and I have a hard time seeing myself use it for anything else. But if I ever decide to upgrade to a "serious" tablet for whatever reason, I'll definitely go with Surface.

Finally got around to purchasing Tentacles, well worth it as it is fun (for now as I just started) to play and looks nice. Got the dlc with Microsoft Points, kinda weird how in game purchases can be with MSP while purchasing the game is needed with a credit card. Going to probably pick up some of those .99 cent games and look forward to the sales.

^^^Yeah, I was really disappointed when I discovered you can't buy WP7 games with MS points since I get them much cheaper than retail. I'd buy a lot more WP7 games if I wasn't paying full price for them.

Tentacles seems like it's going to get frustratingly difficult in the later levels, so I am passing on it. I really want to avoid anything frustrating in phone gaming.

even though it may get a tad difficult the game is great, well worth the price even if you played half the game. Gorgeous graphics, super controls, unique, and different. Fun game.

If you don't need to get all the achievements, the frustration level is relatively low (they patched in a setting to make it easier).

Also, I'd love to buy WP7 games with MS Points!

And still no "Fling" or DotW...hopefully soon. Oh and I bought Doodle Jump on Saturday for full price, so maybe I jinxed it into being DotW for the rest of you. We shall see.

^Thanks. And Jesus with these DotW repeats, come on...

Also, at the WP Developer conference today they introduced Windows Phone 8, coming this fall. No phones will be upgradable to 8, but their at least going to put out a 7.8 update for us with some cool new features. I'm gonna have my current phone for at least another 12 months, so this is good news that I have at least one more update to look forward to.

Others please correct me if I got any of that wrong, I'm not much of a techie when it comes to phones.

I'm relieved that DotW is Tetris 'cause I don't want to buy anymore games for a little while. I'm running out of room on my phone. I don't know how much space I have left because I can never remember how to check, but I know it's not much more than 200 MB. I bought/downloaded Tentacles the other day and it damn near killed my phone.

Although I've never been a fan of change, I'm looking forward to the 7.8 update because I really dig the new tiles. Of course, knowing me, I'll probably keep my current layout because I won't be able to decide how big I want everything to be. Meh. Does anyone think there's even a slight chance that they will give us a way to transfer data (like our game saves) when it's time to upgrade to WP8?

Settings -> About.

Lists available storage with all the other info.

EDIT: Deals live for me, tho I can't find Fling.

EDIT2: Don't bing fling, it comes up with a bunch of porn sites hahaha
Settings -> About
Thanks. Hmm, I apparently still have 2.23 GB left, so I don't know why I had issues with Tentacles. Must've just been a weird fluke; I'll have to re-download it tonight and see how it goes.

Spent a couple hours with Fling, it's pretty much exactly what you think it is. There's one mode called Frenzy that's a little different but isn't anything special (it's in the demo as well).

The Arcade achievements might be a bit of a grind with a solver, but they're easily doable. As are the rest except the achievements for Frenzy mode, which I think only the most dedicated would ever be able to get.

Overall, I'm happy with my $1 purchase but don't think I'll be playing the game for more than just a few days.

You can buy your games with MS points or CC or charge them to your Phone bill. When you go to check out there is an option to change your payment method.

I was on the phone with MS and they told me you can use MS points to purchase games instead of using your phone bill.
The link I posted didn't work?
It got me to the game, for sure. I'm just having issues with my replacing my old email for live and it doesnt like me use the site for almost anything.

If anyone didnt know this, if you wanna change your live email, you'll need to wipe your phone to change the primary live account (i.e. the one that allows you to sign into xbox, etc)

I see, and that's interesting. I hope I don't need to change my email any time soon.

I've never seen an option to use MS points and I don't see one now. All I see are Phone Bill or Credit Card like always. I think you can only use MS points to buy stuff for your avatar...but I would love to be proven wrong.

That's definitely incorrect.

Also, just in case anyone didn't read the Windows Phone 8 news, you can't upgrade from old handsets. Do not buy a Windows Phone 7 handset if you don't have one already; just wait for Windows Phone 8 this fall.

The 99 cent price on SMB 1 is due to the iOS version costing that much and the availability of part 2. I'm sure part 2 will eventually be a DOTW though.

Thanks for improving on my method! I updated my Final Fantasy Achievement Guide with your suggestion.

BTW, Super Monkey Ball 2's multiplayer will be pass-and-play only, for better or worse.
What happened to keeping the thread bumped, fellas? I'm triple posting now, yuck!

Anyway, here's my IronSun Studios developer interview. I think it turned out quite nicely. We mention their next game in it, so it's news too!
I will read the article . Thanks. I am excited to see the surface release. I am going to assume applications will move even faster once win 8 is releases since it sounds like developers will easily translate the apps to the phones. speaking of a surface, I want one...if they are in my price range.

Between WP7, Xbox 360 and GFWL, I am making so many purchases now and having a backlog but trying to give everything a chance. Thanks for maintaing a nice and reliable site, paul. Hope that SMB is worth the $. Still looking into some of those $1 games :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates when I have to double or triple post in a thread.

Great interview, I really enjoy them!

Glad it helped! I'll definitely give Super Monkey Ball 2 a try and I also checked out the interview you just posted, some good stuff. Since I just got my phone recently I'm hoping well still get some good games for a while after Windows Phone 8 releases.

By the way, if you change your email address to your gamertag your Tenure (years of xbox live subscribed on the top right hand corner) might reset. I've been a member since the launch and changed my email address and now states 7 years instead of hm..11? lol Is Tetris worth the purchase or should I wait a bit longer for a further price drop instead of this sale?

It's honestly not bad, but I feel like $3 is still a bit steep considering the $1 puzzle games you can get lately.

Also, updated the OP and games list. Sorry for falling behind - Wednesday was weird with the late updates and my work/sleep schedule.
Monopoly went back up to $4.99  Guess my hopes of getting it for $1.99 just went out the window for the time being.
Haha. I too had my hopes for that 1.99 or .99 price point/sale. Especially since it had been on sale a few times, why not a few more?! I wonder why it was 2.99 for the past couple weeks? Weird.

Fling is ok, for a dollar. I will pass on Monkey Ball so here is hoping a nice sale this week.

I am excited to find out more about the surface. I suppose my phone games could be played on the surface? That would be very very cool. I also noticed cut the roap tile on win8 so I would assume that will make it to the phone as well, wp8. Fun game.

Chickens Can't Fly update just showed up on my phone, woohoo!!! Time to get some slippers and a hat for my avatar! :)

Also, apparently it's now $0.99.

I sent a challenge to the 3 guys on my friends list that own this game (MoCiWe, EastX, Fryburg). If any of you could create a challenge and send it to me so I could get the Chicken Slippers that'd be awesome.

I'll do the challenge in a bit here, I'd like the slippers myself! The update is downloading now, seems like i]t adds some good stuff.

EDIT:
I beat yours and made a new (really easy lol) one, I don't think I got the slippers though so i'm not sure how the challenge leaderboard works yet
