Sorry if this has been asked already, but they converted my MS points to $2 the other day and now I'm not sure how to use it. I'm trying to buy Bully on the web store and the only option I see is to put the full $3.74 on one of my cards.
Choose "other payment method" or whatever it says at the bottom of the checkout screen.

All I see is a "Change Payment Options" link and when I get there the only options that are available are my credit cards. Has anyone successfully used their converted money as a partial payment?

Edit: I went ahead and just used my card on it thinking it might just automatically use my $2.. no dice. I just tried going through the same process with a Rocksmith song (thinking it might be because it was a GoD) and still nothing.

Right, that's what I'm doing. When I click purchase is when I get the error code. And I'm doing this on my console btw.
Hmm I'm not sure then. Might have to contact support for that.

I was able to use my MS credit on the console. It took the $3.00 off Bully. I did end up paying tax though.

This might be the key. I'm using the web store. Oh well, I'll just make my next purchase, whatever it is, through the system.

Looks like bing codes have been invalidated. Just went to redeem a couple of my 100 msp codes that I got a few days ago and it says they've already been redeemed (they haven't). I'm losing some serious currency over this mess.

fucking Microsoft.

Welp played few hours of Max Payne 3 multiplayer, it's quite bad. Why developers think locking out the weapons and perks is a good idea? There is absolutely no balance - new players should grind a lot to have some chances playing versus max levels dudes. Took forever to take down guys with good equipment.

Wow, that is ridiculous. Just redeemed my last one 2 days ago, sorry for your loss!!

I just tried a 100 code after I read your post and it redeemed fine for $1.50.

I have a couple more codes left. Not sure if I should redeem them right away or hold off.

Has anyone noticed getting tax credited to you when you redeem a code now?  I redeemed a 400 MSP code this morning and got credited $5.38 instead of $5.  (roughly 7.6% extra)

Wow, I don't even wanna touch multiplayer now. I'm all up for competition, but I have to reeealy enjoy the game to grind enough to be competitive.

on Max Payne MP-maybe it was great when it first came out, but it def. seems like one of those cases where MP was tacked on, just because. the campaign is pretty great, some people here have said its too hard, but just bump difficulty down to easy and I think youd be fine. I played on normal the whole time but got stuck on one of the last firefights so had to finish on easy. Amazing last level anyways, and I really like the whole visual design to the game.

TMNT is pretty fun, only played a bit and noticed some little nods to the original films. With so much on my plate I'll have to wait for a sale. Saints Row 4 is a blast, but I can already tell as soon as I beat it I'll be ready to trade it in...

Well, this sucks. I just bought Bully with PayPal funds. I had 8100 points, I was hoping I would be given the option to use funds from my account.

Just got off the phone with Xbox support. After an hour long phone call the guy finally figured out why it wasn't letting me make a purchase using my Microsoft account balance. Apparently if you used the $10 off code on the Microsoft Store to buy the 1200 MSP a while back it raised a flag in their system and they locked my account. This was the code that you got for signing up for the Xbox One preorder availability or something. Hopefully this helps someone. Finally got my download going...

What number did you call? I have a feeling that I'm going to have to go through the same crap. Thanks!

That promotion is also causing me some problems. Shortly after my account was locked, but I cleared that up right around the same time. I removed my credit card as a payment option because I didn't plan on ever using it at the Microsoft store or the Xbox marketplace.

After hearing we'll need a payment option at least on file in order to get the free Games With Gold games, now that MSP are retired, I tried to put my credit card back on file. I couldn't, and it turns out my account is still flagged as being a risk. Last week support told me they'll have a specialist look into it, and get back to me within 19 days. Hopefully it gets sorted out before the window for the next Games With Gold runs out.

The funny thing is the first time I called support last week they didn't see my account was flagged as being at risk. They told me to contact my bank to see if they have any stops in place. I did, and it didn't. I tried putting my card on a second gamertag, and the card was able to be added. When I called Xbox support back they were about to bounce me back to my back, but when I repeated to him my card was added to a different gamertag, and so the problem must be with my main gamertag/account, he said let him check one more thing. That's when he found my account had been flagged.

So what I'm left wondering is whatever he checked that found my account was flagged why isn't that one of the standard things they check for when someone has this problem?

Yeah, apparently it raised some issues with them to see you basically purchasing money (the MSP) for less money. Totally their fault, but I was so happy that the guy I got was able to remove the flag on my account for me now before I missed out on a more important sale.

Now that a bing rewards conversation has started I'm going to ask a quick question, forgive my lack of computer knowledge. I have 5 bing accounts, never had a problem with microsoft over them. I just discovered I can steal/leech my neighbors wireless internet. If I opened more bing accounts using my neighbors wireless would microsoft be on to me? My IP is different on the neighbors wireless so i figure maybe thats good enough? Sorry to ask here but the dead bing rewards thread is no more.

so um, i noticed that alot of arcade games like Ascend, Ducktales, Foul Play, Marlow Briggs and Castle of Illusion are showing up on the xbla new releases but theres no trials and there not out yet. xbox doing pre-orders soon maybe?

Hmmm...I wonder why they nuked the Bing Rewards thread.

Yeah I said that last night before going to bed. It is so unbalanced towards higher level players it just becomes a drag to play. Plus it makes the grind that much slower since you are not getting nearly the kills you need. Honestly, I have never been a fan of R* multiplayer in general. In contrast, I have been playing Far Cry 3 MP and although it has its own set of problems I do not find myself nearly as frustrated even when I am not doing well.

Are you sure you haven't redeemed yet? That and make sure (if you have it) that auto correct isn't changing anything if your copying and pasting the codes on xbox.com.
100% positive. Had a friend check his as well and he had the same problem as me with at least 2 of his four bing codes (he didn't check them all). Not sure why this isn't a universal problem but I'm glad not everyone has to put up with this.

I wouldn't say that it's bad, but you're right about it being extremely unbalanced. What I did though was I waited for a triple XP weekend to play it. I easily got to level 25 and unlocked most of the OP weapons and perks. After that the game became quite enjoyable. And if you're planning on buying the season pass, one of the dlcs come with the most OP gun in the game. But you do have to reach level 20 to unlock it. I'm actually playing it right now and i must say, I'm having a pretty good time on it.

I feel the same about SR4 but will wait to try the content from the $10 season pass. I believe it should all be out by the end of the year.

On the website? They just add pages for all sorts of upcoming games whenever they feel like adding it, but it doesn't mean anything. They've been doing that for years now from what I can recall.

For some reason, Invincible Tiger shows up as a new release now despite being quite old. It was one of the first $15 XBLA games to come out after some big game broke that barrier, but it's quality or lack of content showed that

I have to disagree. I've never been a fan of competitive multiplayer, especially of Rockstar's, but MP3 got me from the start. I can't be more content of GTA5 adopting MP3 combat mechanics. Of course it's harder for newcomers to have a high K/D ratio, but the learning curve is well designed and the experience progression allows you to raise up quickly. I'm not a good player and I managed to achieve a 0.6 K/D ratio during my first ranks. The 'unbalance' smoothly disappears while raising levels. Then you will encounter DLC equipped people, those could be a pain, but you can always kill them and grab their weapons :p To be honest, I wouldn't recomend season pass for real CAGs, since it doesn't add nothing really new to the experience.

The only bad thing about MP3 is the story driving you to get drunk :p

Damn, looks like I have to call them to unlock my account. I tried purchasing something and my account balance never came up as an option to pay - just my credit card that I linked to my Xbox account.

No, on the dashboard

Just an FYI, anybody interested in the Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows game that released today. The 2 player couch co-op is split-screen, which I prefer over trying to always keep two players on the same screen all the time. Bad thing is the split screen doesn't use the entire screen. Kinda reminds me of the old 2-player Time Crisis, but the box for each player is bigger than that one was. Game is just okay, nothing special. I just snagged it because my son was really wanting it.

OK - my account issue is resolved. Turns out the update didn't download properly so my account was only partially converted over (on my xbox anyways) - 45 minutes later, I can now use my 1260 pts (converted to an even $16). Huzzah!

Now to figure out if I want TMNT or if I want to wait :D

Looks like I'll be calling Xbox support tomorrow, as I've also had my MS points conversion amount disappear. Thankfully, i was able to still buy Bully using Paypal.

Got mine working by getting on the console, getting a couple updates, a little bit of dicking around to get it logged into xbox live after the updates, and then buying Undead pack through the console. Had to then go through an ungodly 5 minute rigamarole to dl epic mickey 2 trial for my daughter. It wouldn't show up on the console browse. Had to go to the site. Then tried to "purchase" the free trial, it made me let them send me a code to a secondary email account, had to log out of xbox live (which is also my primary email acct), login to one of my wife's email accts, get the code, logout, login back in because microshit's site won't let me paste the code into the box, manually enter the code, logout of my wife's email, then log back into my effing email, then go find the damn trial again and try to "purchase" it again. (btw, choosing "I use this device regularly, stop sending codes" didn't work).

Really, Microsoft? If you're going to make me do a goddamn code every time I want to get a demo or even see my purchase list, send the damned code to the email acct I'm logged in with, not a secondary account. If this keeps up, it seems a good way to drive your customers to switch to gmail to skip the logging in and out, in and out, business.

I'm still having problems redeeming my 1600 pt card. I'm going to clear the cache and see what happens then if that orang work call Xbox.

likewise...I don't see my balance listed anywhere :|

1-800-4MY-XBOX. Good luck guys, it's definitely a pain. I don't see why this stupid currency conversion was even necessary. So far it's been far more trouble than its worth.
This is going to suck. I am having the same problem. The points did not convert, and I can't use my balance.

EDIT: I almost never rant, but big shaq-fuing help their chat turns out to be. Basically told me to update my XBOX when I told them three times I already did. I asked them if my account is locked they said if you don't see an error message then it's locked, but clearly it is.
