Not for me, over the past week or so. Even after doing the conversion on the console, the only payment option available on the website is credit card. Also the upper-right info area of the website with your gamertag and gamerpic no longer shows any account balance next to your Gold status, either in points or dollars.

It's a big inconvenience because I have a bunch of stored currency but I really prefer making purchases on the website!

Ditto.

Thanks guys.  I figured it was just cause my CC tied to my account expired.

That's pretty ridiculous, I love buying stuff on the online store and downloading it later when I get home.  Definitely needs to be fixed quick.

I know right! So great.

Not to get all "console warz" up in this but when I got a PS3 in 2011 I was dumbfounded that there was no website you could go to to make purchases and redeem codes. I was so used to using live.xbox.com for everything; it felt like taking a time machine back to the previous gen. Crazy that it took Sony until this year to finally implement something.

That's funny, a similar thought crossed my mind. For the first time this console generation (8+ years), the Sony online store is actually better than the Xbox online store. Xbox has owned the online store battle (even when Sony finally launched theirs I still found the Xbox site to be better) but this screw up really sucks. And now that I don't even have a valid CC on file with them, and can't even queue up free demos! :bomb:

Tyler, I noticed that "Games to Have Not Gone on Sale" Google Doc is going to need some real updating after some of these recent sales.

Thanks for clearing this up some for me. I was seeing the samething and I think in the past whatever amount of years I've had the 360, I have bought something through my console like once or twice, thats it. I like buying stuff on the website and queing it.

BTW how do you go through the 'conversion'? I downloaded a patch on my console a few days back but since I haven't bought anything I didn't notice anything different really.

When I went to buy the Awkening DLC for Dead Space 3 yesterday on my computer, and encounted the issue with not having a CC on file and then not even seeing my 1330 pts., I was going crazy and was about to make a call to MS customer service when I found the time.

The only place on the website I see my pts. balance is in the billing info side where you see what you've bought and the pts. deducted and all that. I am going to try and buy what I want from the sale through my console today and hope I dont get crap.

A couple wormy additions for the XBLA disc list in the 2nd post :

The Worms Collection has Worms, Worms 2: Armageddon and Worms Ultimate Mayhem with 6 DLCs.  According to this post on 360A, the 6 DLCs listed on the cover are all for Worms 2.  Three of the DLCs (Battle Pack, Puzzle Pack and Retro Pack) have achievements.

Current XBLM prices are :

Worms - $4.99

Worms 2 - $4.99

DLCs - Mayhem Pack free, Battle Pack $4.99, other 4 are $3.99

Worms Ultimate Mayhem - $9.99

Has 3 DLCs not part of the collection, all with achievements, at $4.99 each

When I saw it in Target earlier this week, it was $19.99 with a tag saying it was marked down from $29.99.  Don't remember if the tag said it was a sale or drop.  Amazon and Wal-mart also have it for $19.99, TRU, Gamestop and Newegg still have $29.99 at time of posting.

Worms Revolution Collection has been out in Europe since May and releases in North America on Oct. 15.  Contains Worms Revolution with its 3 DLCs (1 with achievements) and Worms 2: Armageddon with 5 DLCs.  Revolution is $9.99 on XBLM with each DLC $4.99.  Haven't found which Worms 2 DLC is left out.  Amazon, Wal-Mart and Newegg have preorders listed at $29.99.

Man - it sucks ever since the conversion I don't want to spend anymore on games or extremely frugal lol. When it was points things were so much easier haha.

I feel the same. 160 points feels a lot less than $2. I'm downloading trials for games I'm 99% sure I'm going to buy now instead of getting them right away.

Noticed something today that I don't recall seeing mentioned.

Bought the Dead Space 3 DLC and later canceled it (don't have enough space on the hard drive presently). Went I went to re-download through the console, it appeared as if it wanted to charge me again so I didn't go through with it. I remember before it would just say "Download Again" or whatever it may have been. Wondering if it's just a visual bug or if it would've decided to charge me again.

I hate to admit that I'm the exact same way.  For some reason 400 MSP just sounds like less than $5.  MS was really onto something with the points currency, except that most people hated it.

See if it's in your download history.

I've been having the same issue, it takes a while for the system to recoginze you've purchased it. I wouldn't worry about it too much, just be careful not to purchase something twice. Everything will always be in your download history.

Thanks for that. When I canceled it and tried to re-download it shortly afterwards again (was trying to download to my USB), it wasn't recognizing the purchase. Just checked now however and it is being recognized. My mind's not been thinking too clearly today.

Exactly - I'm even loaded up on points from the MS store, but now I examine my purchases a LOT more careful then previously. For example: I bought State of Decay sight unseen for 1600 msp, but thought twice about buying Bully for 3 and change LMAO.

That's the problem I had with real money coming into the picture. In the back of my head I always knew the point conversion but not seeing the monetary value helped me be more lax.

Back on topic: quite excited for the Juarez sale.

I've been playing Karateka, and granted, it's kind of short, but for me that lenght for that game style is perfect (besides, in order to master the game, the shorter the easiest, because it's not that easy to be untouched). It's worth easily the 200MSP it's costing right now imo. It's always good to demo a game to be sure though.

Thoughts on Jeremy MrGrath's Offroad? It has a 60 on Metacritic versus 74 for Motocross Madness, but I had more fun with the Dormer's demo. With an MX vs ATV game in my backlog though, I think I'll wait and see if it goes a few dollars cheaper.

Still on the fence about Castlevania Harmony of Despair. Are there multiple stages then? Would definitely have to convince my friends to get it too.

i don't recommend it at all, it's definitely one of those games where you play it and can think of a half dozen similar games that just are flat out more fun than JMO. it's a cool idea but not really worth any amount of money if you have other racers to play as it's a pretty subpar one IMO

motocross madness looks pretty slick, but i've never played it before. anybody wanna chime in on that? is the online active? this game slipped past me but actually looks really good!

Or you can make friends with people who downloaded it for the first time during this sale and are new to those types of games and beat it together

I was looking forward to getting the Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC, and a few other things but I'm gonna pass because the marketplace is still charging me tax on my converted points.

I contacted xbox support via chat and they tried to tell me I was supposed to get taxed.  I gave them the link to their own faq regarding points/conversion retirement and now they're looking into it.  They had to escalate it to advocacy/Billing Specialist and now they're investigating why it happened.

If you got taxed on currency from converted points I would urge you to contact support via chat http://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us (guess I should clear that up, select billing and memberships, then other under account management to get the chat with MS support icon to appear) and let them know.  I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I am the exact opposite. I always felt like I had to have at least 5000 ms pts stockpiled. Now I kinda don't care. $2 sounds like less than 160 points to me. Only problem with me is there hasnt been anything interesting for me to buy that I dont own. I am really excited for Blood Dragon, Gunstinger, and MLB Nicktoons next week though. :bouncy:

I think I will contact them too since I got charged tax on my converted points and I remember reading there should not be tax.

LOL! We'll see. :)

I just finished the two FPS demos in preparation for next week's showdown, and the Blood Dragon demo was pretty cool...until I played the Gunslinger demo. Definitely getting that one next week, while Blood Dragon is a big maybe.

bought motocross madness, this is a really good game. saddens me that the online is dead though; it even lets you bring a split screener online, not many games let you do that! oh well, if anyone wants to play some stuff who gets it i'm 'doctor angus md' on live.

very worth $5. or 33% of that in my case. dat stockpile of points makes these purchases so easy :)

Anybody recommend Sleeping Dogs at $15?
Sleeping Dogs is fan-freaking-tastic! Everyone will hate me for saying it, but I enjoyed it more almost any open world game this gen, including stuff like Red Dead Redemption. Extremely underrated in my opinion, even if it has some problems (mostly technical), is just a complete blast to play. If you like the open world of Rockstar games, the combat of the Arkham games, or Asian action movies I can't see how you could go wrong picking it up :applause:

Just don't let it sit in your backlog forever ;)

http://support.xbox.com/en-US/billing-and-subscriptions/account-management/microsoft-points-retire-faq

Will I be taxed on the content that I buy on Xbox Marketplace?

We will not apply taxes when you purchase content using currency that we add to your account at the time of the transition. However, when you use currency that you add to your account after the transition (including from Xbox Gift Cards), all appropriate taxes will be applied to those purchases.

I had to keep telling them my currency was added by MS for them to look into it.

Thanks for the heads up. I will make sure to tell them since they were points they converted.

Sleeping Dogs is one of my fave surprise hits. It started to get more enjoyable after the first few missions. I like having "God like" powers when I play games so I did look up the collectibles that helps you power up online without spoiling the story. Fun game, looking forward for a sequel.

Yea same for me, I always used to be stingy with my points, but now that I'm forced to use currency each purchase is like "oh well that's a coffee...oh well that's a lunch"

I Hated Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, but I can't deny the Call of Juarez: Gunslinger demo was alot of fun. Looks like more games to the HDD to be played sometime in the future.

Is the ACIII DLC worth it at that price? I rather enjoyed the single player experience but thought that the regular DLC cost was vastly over priced, so I never purchased them.

I really like the game. However, when the patch came out back in July in corrupted my save file. I was only a couple of achievements from completing it. Many many hours down the drain. :headache:

I think this way too, except that I never actually skip a lunch in order to buy a game. I just get both.

Some more GoD dropped in price...hell Tales of Vesperia is 1200 MSp and cheap hard copies are rare if anyone hasn't got this game yet buy it NOW!
