Unless you saw something confirmed somewhere that I missed, I highly doubt all XBLA games will be $20. I highly doubt Peggle 2 would be $20.
peggle 2 is announced to cost 11.99 and will have 1000 achievement points

of course, i ain't getting an xbone so i hope it shows up on pc or 360 soon after

Sounds like it should be coming to the 360 and other platforms soon-ish. From last week:

Peggle 2 rated for PS4, Xbox 360 in South Korea

South Korea's Game Rating Board classified Peggle 2 for PS4 and Xbox 360 this week, as well as Xbox One. The puzzler follow-up is set to arrive on Xbox One first, and there's no indication that's changed, even though it won't make the console's launch this month.

However, these ratings suggest it could trickle onto other platforms in the near future. PopCap has already said Peggle 2 will, much like its predecessor, be ported to "as many other platforms as possible."

Just a head's up for those who, like me, may be a little OCD about their Gamerscore: The Bridge's Achievement list is all sorts of fucked-up.

OP updated, keeping the "Last DotW" behind a spoiler, especially since it still looks active but it's Tuesday so thread title needed to change.

Sounds like it should be coming to the 360 and other platforms soon-ish. From last week:
I know, but I want to wait for official confirmation before it makes the 'Upcoming Digital Games' list for Xbox 360.

I got a question if you get dmc's bundle pack does it come with the golden pack, samurai pack, and bone pack?

Also is the costume pack worth getting?

I'm still trying to fix my score from Ice Age Village. Slowly leveling up. I like having my score stop at 99,999 and 199,999, so I can be sure to get the milestone achievement in a FarCry game. Next up is 299,999. Hopefully FarCry Classic will be released by then.

i enjoyed DmC. opinions on virgil's downfall dlc and the bundle pack dlc?
I'm curious about this as well. Finished the main game when I rented it, but liked it so much that I'd get again with DLC if it is good.

I've never played any Resident Evil game, so I'm thinking about grabbing RE4 for $10.
As much as I loved playing RE4 on Gamecube, it was a struggle on 360. The controls are not well. You move your aim with the left stick. I'd recommend getting RE5. You can find it cheaper and it is more fun because of the co-op.

The default controls in RE 4 HD are garbage, but there's an alternate control scheme which works a lot better.

RE 4 is one of the all-time greats that everyone should play through at least once. RE 5, not so much.

I'm looking forward to this, but I'll wait for a sale though as usual. Also, all the achievement values are prime numbers in case you didn't notice.

Just from the descriptions, it appears it does (each was a pre-order exclusive, the bundle puts them all together at a discount).

I found images of the three costumes in the pack and none of them seemed amazing. Figured I'd keep my $2 for something else.

This does not bother me personally, since I am not obsessed with round numbers. However, with many people out there obsessing over things like this, one would wonder why the hell a developer would even do this.

Probably because they don't care about those people. They wanted to do something cool/clever/whatever and went for it. I hear some people say that just means they'll have to make sure they 100 the game to avoid the odd number. Personally GRAW messed up my round GS so I don't care about odd numbers anymore. I think it's interesting.

That's the one to do it if you've never played RE.

I've been waiting for RE4 to hit the magic $5 point. I passed the last time it was on sale, but right now my desire to own it again may override my desire to pay less than ten dollars for it. Anyone hazard a guess as to the likelihood of it going on sale again?

Why would a developer even put an ounce of thought into something so ridiculous. I for one praise any developer that tries to do something different and unique with achievements, even if its something as small as the actual achievement values. I wish more developers would follow suit instead of just throwing in obvious cookie cutter achievements that do nothing for the overall game.

As for this weeks sale, I wont even bother to say it this time around.

I was with you there man, wanted it for $5 and so I passed it over the last time, but realized the amount of times it has gone on sale between then has been a good "0" so if you take that into account then the outlook for a $5 anytime soon doesn't look good. At least I think it doesn't.

I finally bought it this week, never played it before and it's much harder than I expected lol, as well the controls being different from RE6 and RE5 didn't help, since in RE4 you aim with your left joystick instead of the right one in RE5 and RE6, had some getting use to.

Because their goal is to sell the most number of copies possible. I have never heard of anyone buying a game just because of the odd point values for the achievements. It is just not a factor in that regards. On the other hand, people on here post disclaimers all the time when a game comes out with non-conventional achievement point distribution like this.

From a business standpoint (yes, this is a business), when making a decision, the developer should go with whatever sells the most number of copies. Clearly achievements, their attainability, and their point distribution is a major factor for some people when making a purchase. So why adversely affect the sales of you product for really no good reason? It just doesn't make sense to me. Personally, if I were a developer I would go the SEGA route and make achievements as easy as possible and sell a few more copies in the process.

Sad, but those are the facts.

I don't think it will. I've been watching this one closely and it doesn't go on sale often.

If you have 5 (and maybe 6? Haven't checked), you can change your control settings so they are same as 4 (aim with left stick). It would help to practice getting used to them before starting 4.

Agree with pretty much all of this. I appreciate that they're doing something unique, but it will cost them a few sales. Not very many, but some. At least one. :) It looks interesting and I'd like to check it out, but a few months ago, I spent two days playing Luxor 2 (spit) to even out my score after it being out of whack for years, and I'm not about to mess it up again. Yeah, it's stupid, and I may miss out on a great game, but that's just how it is.

At first I didn't like it, but now I'm thinking it could help.

I'm still regretting starting Ice Age Village. I said "you kitten me???" when I saw the weird achievement number unlock. Maybe this game can fix my score instead of finishing that potato.

Anyone buying and playing games based on their achievements should probably find a more rewarding hobby to spend their money and time on. Sure, I've replayed some games specifically for achievements, but they are never the reason I decide to play a game in the first place. There's a trophy store down the street from me I can go to If I ever need to feel a false sense of accomplishment.

Also, still waiting for a Mass Effect DLC sale before MS ends Live/Marketplace support on the 360.

Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents on RE4. I just finished two back to back playthroughs. It really doesn't take long to adjust to the single stick controls. Just don't even put your right thumb on the stick. The camera control isn't needed. This is definitely the best RE game, and in my top 10 all time favorite games. If you haven't played it you owe it to your self to get it. Of course this is coming from a person who has purchased it on Gamecube, Wii, and now 360 :)

New discount

Killer is dead - $39.99 - 20% off

Cheaper than used retail, but will wait for the enevitable drop on physical copy. Love their games though.

In for Peggle 2 but will wait for a sale because I don't have $11.99+tax in my account. I think only $10.60 or some such total. Don't really want to add any more funds right now.

Only problem is the funds are from the conversion so I guess they expire at some point. Which is bullshit.

Xbox One downloadable games are going to have 1000 Gamerscore now.
Makes sense. There's less and less distinction these days between the length/quality/whatever of retail games vs. XBLA games. We're a long way from when XBLA games were envisioned as little bitesize 50 mb thingies.

Games with Gold is coming to Xbox One in 2014. I think there offerings will get better because there won't be old games to give away

@majornelson

Great news: Access to free games each month is coming for Xbox Live Gold members on #XboxOne – Details coming later in 2014

That's pretty big news, and will make Games with Gold a lot more comparable to PS+. LocoCycle and Killer Instinct are a couple examples of perfect games for GwG after 6 or so months of release.

I can see it already. Special Xbox One Games with Gold: 2 free characters in Killer Instinct.

PSA: if you had promo codes for MS Points that used to give an expired message, try them again.  I just tried a couple 240pt codes from Dance Central 1 that used to say expired, and they worked now!

I may have to get The Bridge just to support the dev because I like what they did with the cheevo values

you know what the way Major Nelson worded that tweet maybe it's a different service from Games with Gold. Maybe it's like a situation with PS+ where you only rent the games till your service is done.

As for the Games with Gold on the XOne, I wish they would just hold off announcing anything until it is ready and a real thing.  I don't really believe anything these companies announce anymore. It is just going to make people speculate and that is NEVER a good thing.

Yeah that "access to" part of his tweet does kind of make it sound like it will be run somewhat like PS+ rather than them being 100% free to you forever.

Games with gold for the Xbox One next year? Will there even be enough games out there for that? I haven't been following Major for long but it seems like only 4-5 games come out every month for xbla now. it would be an extremely high probability that anything in the beginning you buy Will be free if its two free games like it is now. that would def keep me from buying a lot of launch games.
