Oh yeah, For those who didn't see http://majornelson.com/2013/12/23/countdown-to-2014-daily-deals-week-2-begins/

Also gonna re-drop my breakdown of personal takes for those who are asking.

For those who need a "TOO MANY GAMES WUT DO I DO?!" guide.

I Am Alive (Checking out a video won't hurt your experience, so make sure this is for you first, but I enjoyed it)

The Bridge (Puzzle fan? LOVE that feeling of solving something you had NO idea how to complete at the start? GET IT!)

Eternal Sonata (Not a legendary RPG but for the price you will get MANY hours of enjoyment. For classical music fans, even more to be appreciated here!)

DuckTales Remastered (Cmon It's DUCKTALES)

Brothers (Amazingly, with no real story, the story told here nears the top of my list of this whole generation)

Wolf Among Us (Not only is it FREE, It's AWESOME. Warning: You will REALLY want more once you finish)

Counter Strike: GO (Only really recommend this one to anyone who is already a CS fan, as anyone more familiar with CoD or Battlefield will be in for a wholly different experience)

Deadlight (Really solid game, until it just isn't. Worth the discounted price but NOT it's regular one)

NCAA Football 2014 (This is a REALLY good price. I don't play sports games, but even I know that)

Hitman Absolution (Stealth skilled or not, this game has something to offer to anyone who enjoys cinematic storytelling. WELL worth the sale price.)

SSX (Not great, but for five bucks there are far worse games, both in terms of time and fun to be had. Online not so solid.)

GTA V (If, somehow, you don't have this game yet - GTA Fan or not, check it out. Never before have I felt like I was in a virtual world so close to the one I live in. Period.)

El Shaddai - (Artistic as hell but for the amount of game you're getting, it's not worth the lackluster discount, as it has been cheaper in all the previous sales, and likely will be again.)

TMNT OOTS - (Critically panned, It seems the only generally positive views on this one come from child fans of the newer cartoons. Those seeking a Turtles game with throwbacks and classic characters, look elsewhere.)

Peggle - (Peggle for a dollar? Cmon, that's less than you waste in water!)

Flashback - (No, it isn't a great remake, it's not even a very good game. Those who look for good in bad games, maybe it's worth adding to the backlog)

Midnight Club: LA - (Not a bad game by any stretch but one can't deny it's aged, and likely same $ on disc)

Gotham City Impostors - (NOT CONNECTED TO THE ARKHAM SERIES - Not wholly good or bad, just not all that fun to go back to, and likely an easy pass even for fans of the genre.)

Running out of Bing points! I have 5 games to buy tonight, and I'm still holding on to the thought of some ME3 dlc discounts somewhere. I get the feeling my wallet is about to get a swift kick in the bills.

FINALLY! A sale on PopCap games. About time. I've been waiting forever for this.   :p

In for Brothers for sure. And I'm in for Ducktales even though I foolishly bought the Ps3 voucher version with the pin at launch.

Quick question since I'm new to the xbox 360. Downloaded two games and both jumped from 80% to done and in my games section it has a different symbol than the blackened 360 controller (example half a controller filled in for demos). This has a triangle thing where the right hand at the lower right. Is this normal?

Thanks

Yep normal. That (triangle on controller) means you downloaded the full game and is ready to play.

That's weird, they just dropped Deadlight, Moon Diver, I Am Alive and Gotham City Impostors sale price even more. They're each $3.74 now. Hopefully they drop a few more, I'll definitely grab Deadlight now.

Thank you, was on the fence about I am Alive. Don't know why 1.25 made that big a difference but I grabbed it

Fuuuuuu. May have to jump on Moon Diver now. I Heard single player wise it sucks and is super grindy, but I love the animation for the game. Deadlight I may get as well now and Gotham City is tempting now as well. I Am Alive...you can stay in your corner, I still don't want you.

Glad I have the whole week to get some money for Brothers and Foul Play. May get the Bridge too. I highly recommend Charlie Murder. Bit I don't know if you'd get much enjoyment out of it if you don't have friends to play it with. Deadlight is alright. Pretty easy game to 400/400 too.

Picked up Fight Night Champions on my account with rewards points and Peggle on my wife's account with rewards points.

Really looking forward to Fight Night's "story mode." Sounds like a boxing RPG.

Eternal Sonata is a trap, one of the worst rpgs last gen.

Regardless, I just redeemed $50 in my microsoft account and it's all gone. I wish I read up a little on TMNT before buying that game though, I didn't know the review scores were so low.

How much time did you put into it? It admittedly starts really slow, but I got hooked after awhile, I thought it was great.

It's an awesome story mode, just be prepared for some fights that don't rely on your actual skill...kinda like boss fights.

I wasn't expecting NCAA 14 to be 75% off.  I like it much more than Madden (I'm a big fan of college football) and apparently this one will be the last one for a while (perhaps ever... lawsuit troubles). If it's anything like the last NCAA Basketball game before that series stopped, the retail disc will probably hold its price pretty well, and I don't know anywhere else it'll be this cheap for a long time (again, no NCAA 15 in the works).

I'm almost certain to get Brothers as well. That about locks up my $20 in cards, so I'll have to pencil in Jan. 2nd. If any good daily deals come up, I'll be heading back out to get another card.

Any thoughts on whether or not SSX is worth the $5? I've never played the series.
Ssx is a bit different than the other titles in the series. It is kind of a reboot, but very much enjoyed it. I found the game very fun and I was happy fo pay 40 dollars for it near release. Great snowboarding games are few, I highly recommend. Especially at that price!

So I've got an American Xbox, with an American account, and American credit in the account. Right now, I'm in Canada visiting relatives, and I brought the Xbox with me. But when I go to buy a game, and try to use my existing account credit, Microsoft tells me they "couldn't get authorization for this."

WTF is this? Has anyone else had this problem before? It never used to be an issue, cause I could always use the web portal before, but now that they won't let me use my Microsoft credit through there anymore, I don't have another option.

Man, I am so conflicted with the Walking Dead Season 1. On the one hand, I liked what I played in Ep. 1 for free... On the other hand, I never even went back and finished it. I just don't know.

I think I am in for Deadlight. I may grab NCAA Football, just to play it occasionally.

If anyone is on the fence for SSX, you shouldn't be. I played the living shit out of that game, online and off. It's an absolute blast. I am most probably going to pick it up digitally. I really loved that game.

These sales have been really bad for me as they've had nothing on sale that I wanted and didn't already have. Almost every category of games was for game types I don't like. Fighting games, racing games, sports games, and more. I'm still waiting on brothers and state of decay.

Man... after today's sales, anyone that was complaining about these sales needs to shut the hell up. I can't decide all the stuff I want to buy, even though I will probably never play half of it.

Is "I am Alive" as shitty as the reviews say? I wanted to play it back in the day.

Brothers is on sale right now. State of decay will be soon enough. I'm still waiting for the ME DLC sale.

So fun question:

How do you guys track what digital games you own/don't own already? I've been stocking up on games but haven't had the HD space to actually download them all. Going to add a big new HD soon, so I'll need to download/redownload them all, or most of them.
All I do is check the "My Games" tabs to see if I own it. If I don't, then I bing search the game for a trial. When I try to download it, it will say whether or not I already downloaded it so I know whether or not I should buy the game or not.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO PLAY BROTHERS. I thought the game was extremely touching. Even if you're completely jaded or you hate the rest of the game, there is still one moment late in the game in which gameplay and storytelling merge so well that every gamer needs to experience it. I would argue that it's one of the best moments in gaming.
I thought it was boring. Not the story but the gameplay. I'm not into these games where you have to switch back and forth between characters to advance.

Guys.....seriously....

GET THE WOLF AMONG US

Not only is it free, its fucking amazing. I know Im repeating myself, but I'm just trying to help fellow CAGs out. TWAU is one of the few reasons I've haven't gotten rid of my 360 yet (still wanna finish up that, TWD Season 2, South Park and Ninja Gaiden Z in March, not to mention MS is making it ridiculously difficult to move onto my X-Bone with all these crazy deals lately, adding more games to the backlog).
Now that's more like it. This is better than Brothers IMO. I'm more into games like this where your choices truly affect gameplay and the story's outcome.

Eternal Sonata is a trap, one of the worst rpgs last gen.

I remember playing a demo for Eternal Sonata when I first got the PS3. I couldn't get into it. Then again I'm very picky with what I consider a good RPG.

Regarding TMNT: This is why I check for a demo before blind buying (Out of the Shadows has one and I'm downloading it now). As I mentioned earlier, I haven't seen a good TMNT games since the SNES version of Turtles in Time.

Does anyone know if Gotham City Imposters has an active community?
Yes, it does. It's usually pretty easy to get into a Team Deathmatch game during normal hours. A lot of people still play that mode. The other modes, Fumigation (Domination), Psych Warfare (Capture the Flag) and Bounty Hunter (Team Deathmatch with coins) are so sparsely-populated these days that it's hard to get a match going with randoms.

The trial version gives you 60 minutes of playtime so download the trial and check it out for yourself.

I use an idea that I saw someone here say one time. When I buy a game, I pin it. That way, even if I delete a game, I can go look at my pins and know what I own and don't own.

WTF are you talking about - today's sale? It's pop cap games. I already own some of those and don't care to own more. This sale has been really bad FOR ME. That's why I specify for me. So far this sale has had 0 games I want and didn't already buy in a previous sale.

My mistake, I didn't realize that massive list was changing. I though the updates were all happening on the daily sales part.

I would buy ME3 DLC on sale but I got tired of waiting for it and sold the game so now I'll never buy it.

fuck, I really was into not getting Deadlight, and now it has another price drop, go figure :wall: Maybe I'll end up buying it, after all :whistle2:k

I Got it free as well, problem is that even if you can get past the boring gameplay and cringe worthy dialouge and voice acting, there's still the problem of the game just losing saves randomly. It happened to me and I believe a few other CAG's and that's the straw that killed the camel.
I agree and on top of that they messed even the original game with their crappy emulation.

Ok, for now:

Castle of illusion

Ducktales

Moon Diver (at first showed only 50% off and i was ready to skip, now checked again and they have changed it to 75% off).

Feeding Frenzy 2

Tried to get Eternal Sonata, but it's not available for my region, same goes to Midnight Club, ehh.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to the people that update this thread-- bought a few cheapy games on great deals to boost my gamerscore up. This site is truly amazing with the level of dedicated contributors!

Quit yer whining and go buy brothers it's on sale now!

I love how the consensus of this sale shifted so dramatically in just one day.

I am going to pick up:

Deadlight

Charlie Murder

Peggle

Peggle Nights

Zuma's Revenge

Like others, I am still hopeful for ME3 DLC and State of Decay to get some decent discounts.

Not complaining but it's the weekly sales that everyone is talking about and the actual daily sale of popcap games still is a miss? Unless you really love Peggle and PvsZ.

The only game I'm buying is Brothers. If they don't have State of Decay on sale before the end of next year then I may never buy it. At some point they need to put everything last gen on sale before it's too late. If not now, I'm sure they'll put it on sale next Halloween.

Popcap is a miss for me. I didn't realize they were having multiple sales at the same time though.
