  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

So the odds on Titanfall getting a complete version? I will eventually get a Xbox One this Holiday and wondering if I should just buy that season pass now. The co-op most likely makes it worth it I guess. Community going to be pretty weak with CoD and Halo now I would bet though.
More like: odds that titanfall will get a complete version for less than $31.25

Cags please buy d4 now and show support for the game it had currently sold less than 10k copies and I would like to play season 2 this is a very great and entertaining game

Yeah, I couldn't get into it. I was thinking you would whack pinatas from a tree or something. This looks more like Pokemon. I'll keep my planting activity on Plants vs. Zombies.
Me and my friend played it on Friday for like 4 or 5 hours. At first we were going to stop playing after like 30 min. But once we figured out how to play we got hooked on the game.
Pokémon is a good comparison. Looks simple and dumb at first glance, then you find out what the game is all about and you get addicted.

D4 is kind of like Telltale games, but much more fun and open. The current episodes can be beaten really fast if you skip cutscenes and don't explore. If you like crazy Japanese stuff, you'll like the game. The hardest part was the first playthrough because I was laughing at during the action sequences. Plenty of collectables and unlockables to keep you busy for awhile. Plus free DLC clothes.

This video is an action sequence that shows the overall tone of the game. Minor spoilers, nothing major.

Was excited for D4 until I realized it's only for Xbox One. Oh well.

BTW, is Slender worth getting? I noticed it was $5 and the demo was scary although a tad annoying for navigation,

No, and yes. No, in that you should avoid that shit for $5 on a console and some achievements. Yes, in that it's about $1 for a Steam code on PC, and there are tons Slender clones out there. White Noise is a $1 indie title and is basically the same thing. It's also probably 30 cents in the Steam trade thread. Both games are on PC as well as Xbox. Protip: Steam doesn't require a monthly fee to play online.

I hope they discount the Titanfall SP when they release the horde mode on 360, I really want that maps but I don't want to spend 25€

Ohh, so you're just here to troll. Good way to undermine what you were saying. Protip: trolls sucks.

Edit. Sorry for multiposting - couldn't easily quote two separate people. Well, a human and a goat eater.

More companies should do what Activision is doing: the free digital upgrade. I am unwilling to shell out full price for any upcoming game for the 360, knowing that in a few months time I'll get a One and I'd prefer to play the game there. No wonder that the only things I've bought full price in the past months are Destiny and Advanced Warfare, both available for free on the Xbox One as soon as I buy the console. But I can't get myself to buy Forza Horizon 2 for example with its terrible lack of content on the 360, only to have to rebuy it on the One someday. Even the 10 bucks discount Ghosts and Black Flag had were okay, but no digital upgrade? No deal.

I may be in for Sonic Adventures 2.  I don't think I actually beat that game on Dreamcast.  It glitched on me or something.

Debating on Thief and Soul Suspect. Thoughts from anyone that's played them? Reviews from websites don't mean as much as the opinions of you fine people.
I've beaten the crap out of Soul Suspect (100% completion) and the game wasn't ground-breaking to be honest, although it had a lot of great ideas. The best part of the game was the story, but the collectibles were a bit of grind. If you want to quick run through of something new, I'd definitely recommend it, but not at 25 bucks, it's definitely a rental.

Just got me all the RYSE Legendary DLC from a CAG for $10. I don't have to  every week now hoping the season pass would go on sale again. Cross that off my list.

Now D4 is tempting but I get that GwG vibe from that game for some reason. That is at the top of my list for games I want to play the most. I may have to take to think about it until last minute.

edit- I still don't have my COD AW from the upgrade. SMH. fuck you Microsoft and Activision, fucking idiots. Y'all got Destiny upgrade right but fuck the one with a 40+gb download up.

gee, I guess the new COD does a better halo impression than halo4 did of COD?!? (I'm still salty over H4 mp)
Indeed it does. At first Halo 4 looks pretty exciting, but then you realize how deeply the game's system is broken and it's all downhill from there. At least it looks good.

Could you elaborate on what's broken about it? The more detail, the better. I'm not too familiar with Halo 4 other than beating a few campaign missions.

D4 is tempting, I never played Deadly Premonitions, but I appreciate the following Swery has.  If only there weren't a crap-ton of great games coming out in the next two weeks.

Well, Halo isn't and should have never been COD. While I don't condemn them wanting to get closer to COD or modern shooters in general with more modern controls, sprinting as default ability and a more fast-paced gameplay, it just isn't Halo anymore as it tries too hard to be something else. Weapons spawn randomly around the map, taking out the skill factor of having to defend an area to make sure you'd get the weapon - any noob could accidentally stumble into the sword or the rocket launcher guaranteeing easy kills with no effort for it. Then there's a limited form of kill streaks, which again gives you random weapons: again, with a bit of luck, you're already holding some OP weapon with barely any effort made for it, quite much ruining the purpose. The loadouts sound like a fun idea to have perhaps, but their variety is limited and fairly pointless as only BRs make sense. Also, while there are vehicle-based playlists, the focus on vehicles has greatly decreased, effectively taking out another aspect why Halo was different from the arena shooters like Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 back in the day - let's not forget how nearly every game wanted to have a vehicle section and this was mostly thanks to Halo, now even they don't really know what to do with them. Instead of having a competitive ladder to climb, the "skill level" is only determined by how much you play, again very much like COD and its level-system. I'm also not a fan of most maps but that's just me.

As far as the campaign, it is again like COD - that isn't necessarily a bad thing, since those campaigns are spectacular, but it also implies it's short, cutscene-heavy and linear, plus the storyline is weak. I loved ODST for trying to make a different campaign with open-world aspects and many extra things to do, too bad that Reach was again more linear and Halo 4 was like a straight corridor for the most parts: even the open areas were extremely limited. Doesn't help that the developers seem to have focused more on the episodic content and what not than making a game that isn't a confusing mess.

Overall it's an exciting game in a way, fast and good-looking, it really seems like the right step for Halo if you look at it because it is fresh. But to make this kind of change they kicked over most of the aspects that made Halo a really cool competitive shooter, making it much more random and noob-friendly. Cheap kills everywhere. Now Halo 5's multiplayer looks more like it: weapons back to spawning in specific locations. Older style arenas. No more loadouts of lame abilities. Everyone gets the same chances, and that's how shooters like Halo should do it. There are many Call Of Duty games I really like but let's not mix the two styles up; just because Mario Kart is fun it doesn't mean that Forza should try and make something similar (actually I would like to see that though). I'm all for innovating and evolving, they can have a fast-paced gameplay, iron sights if they want or whatnot, but not if all that means losing the essence and the good aspects of Halo.

Halo 4 wasn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be, it just wasn't as Halo-y as it should be. I still played a real lot of it online and enjoyed it far more than CoD (Never been a fan of CoD really personally, although I did like World at War). But yeah, as Baboy above me said, they added stuff like sprinting, perks, and loadouts that other shooters have but Halo usually doesn't.

But yeah, the new CoD does look like Halo/Crysis/Titanfall now and not CoD which is kind of funny. Can't wait for the Halo collection though :D

It's indeed as if Sledgehammer looked at every shooter of the past 2-3 years like (plus an older game) like: damn, that levolution in Battlefield 4 looks good; damn, Titanfall's movement is sexy and so is its setting; damn, having loot in FPS games like Borderlands and Destiny is awesome; damn, that nanosuit in Crysis is so much fun; damn, Halo and its lasers, jetpacks and stuff are so cool; damn, those sidejumps in Unreal Tournament 2003/2004 kick ass, and so does that Bombing Run gamemode (they have a near identical copy of it in AW). They took all of that and made it into one game, and you know what? Halo 4 was a mess. Crysis was great but the multiplayer not so much. Borderlands doesn't have a competitive multiplayer worth mentioning, while Destiny's is broken. Battlefield 4 didn't work for like a year and it's too reliant on DLCs. Unreal Tournament games are awesome but they're old. Titanfall lacks content and variety. COD: AW, in many aspects, beats their foes at their own game. It's far from perfect but it works, it's new, it's varied, it's fun, and yet, it doesn't feel overly different from its predecessors. More than what can be said about most of the above games.

COD: "They never change the gameplay! They sell the same thing year after year."

Halo: "Damnit they changed the gameplay, why can't they have everything the same as it was 10 years ago"

Interested in D4 but think theres a good chance it drops even further or becomes a gwg. I do think ill really enjoy it though
If you think you'll enjoy it, you should pick it up. At this point I'm not hopeful for Season 2 and that's a damn shame. It's one of my favorite games of 2014. As others have said, it's perfectly functional with or without Kinect, so if you like point-and-click adventure games and/or surreal stories, this is a no-brainer at $10.

Look. Foah. Dee.

I'll agree to disagree about some of those games :p But, I will say that first half of what you wrote is 100% true. They did take parts from a bunch of different games and put them in theirs.

COD: "They never change the gameplay! They sell the same thing year after year."

Halo: "Damnit they changed the gameplay, why can't they have everything the same as it was 10 years ago"
As a huge Halo fan (probably like my most played series ever pretty much), I can pretty much agree this is what you hear a lot haha

Well the thing with Halo 4 is It's always been about map control IE getting the power weapons, with Halo 4 they randomized where power weapons were and they showed you were they were going to spawn with certain perks. They added sprint and more abilities then Reach had. IMHO they would have been just fine with only sprint. The Halo 4 campaign was fantastic and the majority of the community was ok with the campaign, it was just the MP that 343 went overboard with. We'll see come Halo 5 if they learned their lesson.

COD has changed to a certain point but they really need to fix the big underlying issues which they still haven't with AW: Hit Dectection, lag (fixed by dedicated servers, why are we still doing P2P when Titanfall has dedicated servers?) and the usual death around corners BS.

D4 was doomed from the start with poor advertising. I think they announced the release date a day or 2 before launching the game. By announced I mean whispered. I only knew about it because somebody posted it here. Great game with little to no marketing.

GTA 5 first person mode looks amazing. I got bored with 360 version very fast, but it was worth it for all them free MS points. This new fps mode might make me buy the new one if I can find a good place to trade in 360 version.
