I'm surprised by this too. You'd figure they'd try to link it to Halo 5, like experience the full saga on Xbox One, or something.

And when I read about the whole Kingdoms of Amalur game I'm surprised they don't try to make that backwards compatible on both systems. If anything it might encourage people to potentially buy it later, since physical copies may be very hard to find in time (and digital is direct sales, where as physical will eventually be 3rd party sellers with absurd prices that in no way give the studio profit). So long as Sony and Microsoft keep a section in their marketplaces to buy those titles in there could always be gamers who go back and buy older games they may have missed.

Microsoft does the backwards compatibility work, correct? If that's accurate then it costs these studios nothing to potentially gain sales, especially if there's no chance of a remaster/ultimate/saga/collection/pay-us-again-jackasses edition.

With everything going on I did not see anyone mention anything about date night.
Even if it is the cold shoulder "don't touch me" that I have unfortunately become used to, I am counting each day after as a new date, so I know that I will get "something" on the 4th date (the 12th).
But knowing my luck, it will be delayed too or the NXOE will brick my system so I will not get anything ever again on my XBO either.
But I have high hopes that something will happen sometime!



And oh yea.... Halo.

So xbldb picked up the sales from last week just yesterday? wow....hopefully ANYTTHING I would buy will drop tonight I don't even care what it is as long as I can finally buy something again that I want...

 
I like how some of the titles are delisted. I got Golden Axe OG and it's on that list.

Otherwise meh list, but things will get better. I imagine they add 50ish or so a month to let every developer get a chance at some $. Reach gonna be sweet! But was hoping for a Halo:MCC port at 60fps/1080p.

All the yo-yo-ing prices on Rock Band tracks probably messed up the scanner. Spylon's said in the past XBLDB has trouble with the sheer volume and cross compatibility of the songs for music games.

 
Will reiterate my desire to have a Date Night with all of the BC titles on sale.

Also, everyone seems so focused on Fallout 4 but I'm loving the great reviews Rise of the Tomb Raider is rockin. Probably one of the few here that is looking forward to playing it over FO4.

Agreed. I'm really looking forward to FO4, but I generally like to give Bethesda some time to smooth out some of the bugs.

So I bought Fallout 4 from the Xbox Store digitally and then a CAG offered it to me for cheaper. I contacted support and they refunded my preorder but it still shows that I own the game? The refund was credited back to my account but when I go to the store page it still shows I own it and then when I go to the game itself it doesn't say I do not own it but rather that I am too early...

Is this just temporary or could they have somehow processed the refund but kept the license on my account?

Wow, AWP was right. Minimum 600MB increase per game......My 35 games for the 360 that I will download onto the X1 will take up at least 20 GBs. Damn man

I deleted all the games I haven't even started yet that are going to x1 and cleared up 26 gigs. Now I can download the last couple months of gwg. I was all the way back to army of two devils cartel.

Anyone else have a "problem" with the Oman Wars games? I went ahead and deleted all of them. I've never played them and will never get to them anyways. All mine were showing with the jetpack joyride art. Thought it was strange that all the Oman games were messed up. Sorry y'all. You guys gots to go!

Actually, according to this article here, it seems that while Microsoft may be all for Backward Compatibility minute one, their publishing partners are instead choosing to authorize their games at a trickle pace.

This was easily my biggest fear about backward compatibility: that publishers would get cute and not allow their games to appear until after their marketing departments had their say. Electronic Arts doesn't want us playing Battlefield 3 right now, they want us to buy Star Wars: Battlefront. Black Ops 1 will eventually be made available for BC, but not until after the launch hype subsides for Black Ops 3. Microsoft itself is doing the same thing with Halo: Reach - they want people buying Halo 5: Guardians, so Reach isn't up on the BC list yet.

From the interview with Mike Ybarra:

"Our biggest obstacle there is working with publishers and getting their approval for the older titles. We continue to work on that right now, I would say, it varies in response across the publishers. Some are like 'yep, let's go, rock n' roll' and others are a little bit more thoughtful about how they want to think about that. It's hard for us to promise, I'll just make something up, 20 titles a month from now on, because it really depends on the publisher enabling us to release those titles. Certainly we want to release a set of titles on a regular basis that customers are asking for, that can provide value to them."

It frustrates me that these companies simply have to say "yes" - but are instead not serving the best interests of their past customers (us).

I'm guessing many of the popular titles will come out after the holiday buying season ends. But maybe I'm just being naive.

 
You would think they would want to do this. It means more sales. Also if you have a new game coming out say resident EVil 15. Most people want to go back and play all the old ones first.

Maybe a friend sees you playing it and they say hey I never tried those I'm going to try them. Well now they like the game and purchase all the old and the new one coming out. Now you throw in dlc purchases. It's just a missed opportunity for them. The games would then be bought 3rd party at stores like GameStop, Amazon, or eBay. You would like think they would rather go backwards compatible and digital so they get the money straight into their accounts.

Microsoft should really be pushing this right now to increase x1 sales. This would help sell xboxes which in turn trickles back to the game makers. They have a new system that people will be buying games and ms points for from Christmas. 

You would think publishers would be all over this. How many of us do not have a 360 but are buying games so we have them for backwards compatibility.

Two weeks ago, Alice was on sale. Last week, Catherine was on sale.

So who is on sale this week?  

Bayonetta? Amy?  

Or maybe the guys will have a turn and we'll have a sale on Duke Nukem, Alan Wake, or Serious Sam.

 
I stick with my Call of Duty prediction for this week. Probably older Fallout and Tomb Raider stuff as well. But, my guess is that most of it will still be overpriced.

Which Mass Effect 3 DLC is the best? I slogged through as much of the main game as I could until I got bored and I might return to it someday so I'm trying to figure out which of them might be worth playing post-game. Does one of the DLCs contain the fabled revised ending that everyone got after they bitched about how bad the original ending was or is that just part of an update?

This is my thought process as well. BUT, I am inclined to play it this year if I do get Never Alone as it's a quick playthrough. Like Pneuma. I'm more swayed nowadays to play a game that's only a few hours in length than say, Fallout 3 if it was $2.60. Fallout 3 is a HUGE RPG which would consume the remainder of 2015. 1st world problems
