Anybody pre-order digital from Best Buy before? I didn’t realize that they now do the $10 bonus on digital preorders plus there doesn’t seem to be tax when I go through checkout.

So I’m kinda of tempted to get AC: Origins digitally. It’ll still cost me $10 more (having no GCU but not having sales tax) but with the preorder bonus it isn’t bad and probably save me a few bucks in gas.

Anyway, do they send the code right away? Or at midnight? Or sometime on release day?

I pre-ordered Shadow Of War digitally and got my code sometime around 2-3 AM of release day. I also pre-ordered AC: Origins and Mario so I'm expecting them around the same time tonight.

Luckily i had no problems getting the $10 reward certificate from it [:

Well, that 2-3 am is a deterrent since my Best Buy is doing a midnight opening tonight. Hmmm....

I have Tales on disc and haven't played it. I never could get into Nights and really hated the grading system it had. I might have liked it if it wasn't on rails. Dreamfall Adv - always up for an Indy/Tomb Raider/Uncharted adventure. Another racing game is good. At least they're all free.

Lucky you. I bought if for $5.98 and still haven't played it. Oh, well, it's only $6.00 and now I don't have to open the packaging.

 
You guys ever play a game that you started out really liking but eventually get completely tired of it and wish it ended? Cuz right now, that is what playing Hue feels like. This game was initially alot of fun, looks beautiful and had interesting color mechanics to solve puzzles. It was a treat to play, but damn it all, this game drags on waaaaaaay too long. I'm at the final part of the game and feel like I've been playing this game for 100 hours (xbox says I played 9 hours). I just looked at a youtube video to see if I was close to end and I still have several levels to go.

Not really. Most of the bundles out there are for games I'm not interested in and with Black Friday coming up, I was hoping for a GWG title to really grab my attention.

I don't hate what they selected; I was caught up in the moment since the Starter Bundle I liked (and will probably end up getting) had that 3 months of XBL would have made for a sweet bonus if one of the freebies just happened to be something I would have paid full price on Xbox One anyway.

Hint - It’s probably NEVER going to be something you would want to pay full price for.
 
All the complaining about paying $5 for something that is now free but used to be $20 but you never started the game is hilarious. I paid full price for pretty much all the Telltale stuff and enjoyed them all. If it’s not for you, cool, but if you never tried it how would you know? Personally, I think you’re just missing out.
 
Is the Assassin’s Creed movie that bad? See it’s on the HBO app and wondered if I should watch it tonight in celebration of Origins coming out since I have to wait until midnight to get it.

But if it’s as bad as it was reviewed I can pass.

I didn't think it was too terrible, but it had a lot of inaccuracies and too much modern day assassin stuff for my liking. If you go into it thinking you're watching an Assassin's Creed movie, you may be disappointed. However if you go into it just expecting a generic action movie with assassins, it's not too bad. At least that's how I feel about it, but that's me personally.

I enjoyed it. It wasn't near as good as it should or could have been, but it was enjoyable to an extent. The issue is that there are inaccuracies between the movie and the game (the state of the Templars and Abstergo mostly) that it takes a lot of head canon to explain away.

​That being said, Michael Fassbender is almost always awesome in my book and there are some neat Easter eggs to various assassins from the past games so I would say it is at least worth a watch since you already have HBO.

I am a huge Assassin's Creed fan - and I thought that movie was terrible.
 
I'm going to watch the Assassin's Creed movie on HBO simply because I know I won't be ripped off since didn't buy a ticket for it and my time is not worth that much.

 
on borderlands 1 I have the goty disc and no way am I rebuying that expensive dlc considering it's all broken up into pound me in the ass prices

does the disc 2 dlc work on my digital copy of borderlands 1 or am I forever stuck on 360 island for that one?

all in reference to xbox one bc

 
Just read Stepto passed away. Definitely too bad, I really enjoyed him on Major Nelson's podcast years ago. It was one of the first podcasts I listened too.

 
A day or two ago, someone posted their left bumper was no longer working on their elite.
Mine also stopped working but I just fixed it. Somehow the bumper caught on the left trigger and by depressing the left trigger I could free the left bumper.

Hopefully whoever mentioned that see this and it helps them

I asked the Chilean miners, and they told me that all the DLC is bundled with the game on Xbox One.

 
Been playing AC Origins. Seems a bit slow to start but love the setting. The more RPG aspect of it is a nice addition and combat is improved. Hoping the story picks up, which I’m sure it will.

And most of all, anxious to see how it looks on the X

I recently started Shadow of Mordor GotY, since I've barely touched the dlc content and that makes it hard to justify picking up Shadow of War for more of the same. I forgot how much fun it was to brutally cut down orcs (anyone correcting me w/ "uruk" gets a preemptive Nnneeeeeeerrrrrrddddd!) and how frustrating it is to get killed by some cheap BS and watch that stupid orc w/ 10 HP get promoted. I'm reminded of someone in the thread's recent comment about how they never died and therefore didn't get much appreciation of the nemesis system; I can assure you that my playthrough is not suffering from a lack of player deaths.

*edit* On checking over my post, I notice that the only dlc content I've so far touched was giving Talion a different cloak... Ya, I really don't need to buy Shadow of War anytime soon.

I thought the game was too short. Average completion time is 4 hours. Not much longer if you go for 100%

I feel that if I played the game for 9 hours, I'd feel the same as you.

So from what I understand reviewers were forced to use the Xbox One X for reviews of AC: Origins yet Metacritic still accounts for the vast majority of reviews on PS4. Guess it’s just their flawed formula at work.

Am disappointed to hear that there’s still texture pop-in and occasional frame rate issues on the X. Hope there’s a patch.

Just binged it for 12 hours straight instead of sleeping :p. Really enjoying diving into ancient egypt. I like the gameplay changes, this is the first AC where looting is fun and so are side stories. Controls, combat, climbing etc all are vastly improved. Only unlocked like 10% of the map so far, if this keeps being fun I will probably play it on and off til the next Far Cry comes out. Really like the feature where other players photos are visible on the map.

If there is a patch people will still complain, its just what people do nowadays to feel alive I guess. Game is working almost perfect for me but guess I am more focused on what is FUN for me over counting pixels. See the Forza 7 drama its completely NUTS.Drive the worlds greatest, most legendary cars (or maybe even your own car) on the most beautiful tracks ever done in a simulation game ... for $60.. and people complain they dont get enuff double credits lmao....

For those that went for the $1 Destiny 2 via QVC about a month ago, I finally saw my order was cancelled (shocking...). I didn't get any email about the cancellation so FYI for anyone else.
 
I Watched Assassin's Creed last night on HBO. I'm merely letting you all know simply so I myself can lay some kinda proof that I saw that movie before my brain completely forgets it.

I watched too....but only made it about half way through. I highly doubt I will ever finish it. Total waste of a good property and great cast.

I Mean, it's good for video game movie standards, but in all reality nothing about it stood out and just like the video games themselves, I question why we need the modern day crap considering the movie itself also keeps making note of them needing to go back to the past.

 
With all the ME talk I forgot to mention I'd obtained cheap copies of the first 3 games (ME1 for $2 shipped on Amazon, in perfect condition!) after buying DLC earlier this month. 

Playing ME1 and using the Mako gives me a newfound appreciation for Andromeda and the Nomad, which controls wonderfully and has great physics. The Mako by comparison feels like it's tires are made out of banana peels and constantly driving in mud.
