Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

Are there any current deals on a 12 month live gold membership? I just logged in to add the new games with gold to my account and realized my subscription lapsed.

Funny thing is I complained to MS when I got my S about the adapter (because it was after the cut off for a free one) and they sent me one. But I have two external hard drives connected to my rear USB ports so haven’t bothered to use the adapter yet.
I also did this successfully, but I added a USB hub so I can have the 2 drives too.

Black Mirror announced by THQ Nordic. Supposed to release 11/28

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZ3mOzM7Htg
If he really liked her he would of jumped past her and broke her fall... and that trailer is really something that tells ya nothing unlike that Observer_ one I watched last night. Do like the japanese singing and tar hands so I'll be on the look out.

yeah, the game just launched minutes ago. 1 hour trial and the game is $35.

Game of Thrones fans: Another episode was leaked online, beware of spoilers.
I looked directly into the trap and watched it.... wow, stay of the internet till Sunday maybe....

I think you may be mistaken on We Happy Few, as the developer warned us last week that it would going up this week. The price went to $60 yesterday and then back to the game preview $30 for one more day. I got this info from their twitter account, I also tried it for around 45 min and really like the vibe it had. I jumped in at $30 as I think this game will be a sneaky hit that just may sneak out to 1.0 this year to help Xbox with its exclusive list.
I loved the initial premise and trailer for this, but after seeing gameplay (survival game with the four bars to manage) I'm taking a hard pass unless they change things.

Have you tried the trial? I can see where they are going and really dig the atmosphere they created. I just bought it last night and will give it a longer go soon.

Went to GS yesterday to get Revengeance, they told me they were sold out. Game still shows as available on the site. So I ordered a a new copy on Amazon for ~$8.  For anyone interested, Walmart has a version that includes a soundtrack CD for $15, in-store only.

The copy I picked up from GS yesterday was in the walmart with soundtrack case. Alas, no soundtrack. You win some, you lose some.

I've had We Happy Few for a while, but holding off until it's done to try it. Early trailers looked amazing and that's all I really have or need to see to know I want to play it.

Also grabbed a pair of those movie pass cards for me and my fiance. Even if we only use them one a month it pays for itself. I'm gonna try and use it a few times a week even if I have to go alone

Extremely off topic but does anyone use movie pass? $10 a month for one movie per day, this sounds like a really good deal even if you only see two movies a month.

https://www.engadget.com/2017/08/15/moviepass-unlimited-movies-10-dollars-a-month/
Look directly above you. I just signed up for two cards. They will be here within 5-7 days. Looks like I can already order E tickets from places that do seating reservations via the app. This even includes the really nice AMC dine in theater near me. Trying to see the Dark Tower tonight. Will report back on my experience

Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier is a video game coming to XB1 later this year. Two TATS.

^ You will have excuse Six Min Whistle for missing your post about the Movie Pass. He has been very, very concerned about Conan's penis lately.

People that downloaded are reporting that nudity works once you download a separate nudity DLC
-Partial nudity for US to keep M rating, full nudity for Europe because PEGI 18 exists.
It seems you should be able to use this trick to get the uncensored version of Conan Exiles from Europe though.
According to the Reddit thread I posted above you should be able to buy the US version, change regions temporarily and download the European version.
Since it sounds like dicks will still be accessible if you bother with changing regions, I guess no co-op.
Is anyone thinking of getting Conan Exiles when it comes out in two weeks? It's $30 on Steam, I might grab it if it doesn't run like hot garbage on Xbox.

LOL last highlight killed me.

I'm in for that movie pass. I have a cinophile (sp?) for a sister in law living with me. She'll get her moneys worth. Thanks for sharing.

Look directly above you. I just signed up for two cards. They will be here within 5-7 days. Looks like I can already order E tickets from places that do seating reservations via the app. This even includes the really nice AMC dine in theater near me. Trying to see the Dark Tower tonight. Will report back on my experience
Ahh, I saw We Happy Few and tuned out completely. Hopefully this thing succeeds, I guess they were only able to change to this model because of a pretty big investment and are likely to lose money constantly. AMC doesn't sound like they plan to be on board if they can help it, but I don't see what they can really do if the company does all payments through their issued debit card. I guess they can just not accept their card, but if it's backed by Visa or Mastercard maybe that isn't an option.

Is this based off the TV series or is it something completely new? The trailer didn't really show much
Black Mirror was apparently a series of point and click games that started in 2003, and this is a reboot.

^ You will have excuse Six Min Whistle for missing your post about the Movie Pass. He has been very, very concerned about Conan's penis lately.
I just thought the game looked good from gameplay I saw since it's been out on PC, and think it's extremely stupid that we're getting a game censored here in the west in the modern era, when it isn't an issue on Steam. I think the ESRB is a good thing overall, but the fact that it's still has a dramatic influence on the industry is stupid.

Really, I think the preemptive censorship in CoD WW2 is worse, clearly just trying to make room for as much customization as possible and have players not think of the Axis team as actual Nazis to sell more microtransaction junk in the multiplayer.

I signed up yesterday and even though it shows my info in the app, it won't show me any theaters... hopefully this fixes itself at some point.

I called support and asked them how to hook up the Kinect, complained about the pricing and lack of support hoping they might take pity on me and send me one but no go.
that's strange. I got an in a chat and gave them the SN of my VCR, the Kinect, and the S and they sent me one... I guess it's all in who you talk to. I would try again.

Last I heard there were swastikas in campaigns but they were removed from multilayer. Is that still the case?

To those considering Movie Pass, if you want to see which theaters accept it, use this URL and change the zip at the end to your own:

https://www.moviepass.com/theaters/zip/60601

I think this is the best you can do for now, since it seems their CS dept is swamped (which isn't helped by the fact they're probably being hounded by inquiries about which theaters accept MP). To do a huge price drop like this and not even have a simple service available to list participating theaters is crazy to me.

I might give it a go, but I'm not hopeful for the program existing in the long run at $10/month.

The fact that there is no easy list is a turnoff to me. It's like they're trying to hide something (they're probably not; but that's what it feels like).

Also, latest news it that AMC is trying to opt out. Doesn't make sense for them to do so since the program pays them at full ticket prices so not sure what's going through their heads, but something to keep in mind.

I don't like how there isn't a tutorial or something on how this works. It says an iphone or android device is required. But why? Can't I just walk up to my theater's ticket booth, use my Moviepass card to "buy" a ticket? What do I need the phone for? I've read in multiple press releases that you can buy tickets in person at the theaters so the phone shouldn't be a requirement.

Yeah, I don't know...

As far as the AMC thing, their concern is that the perceived value of movies will be lowered by people seeing unlimited movies for $10 a month. They think the program is unsustainable and when it ends, theaters will be hurt because those customers won't go back to paying that much for a single showing. Honestly, a pretty understandable concern in the long run. But if this blows up, finding a way to opt out of the program will hurt AMC, too.

From what I understand from reading comments from current users, it basically works everywhere debit/credit cards are accepted, including some of the fancier dine in theaters like Alamo Drafthouse. The only ones they were saying don't work are places small independent theaters.

Edit: just checked my zip, it shows both theaters in my town and all the theaters I'm aware of for at least 40 miles.

It appears that until the card arrives they only show theaters where e tickets are available. I have a AMC, regal and entertainment cinema near me and only AMC shows up. It let me get an e ticket for tonight though for the AMC theater

And you need a smartphone because u have to check in on the app when u arrive and they authorize the card I guess

Even if it's a physical card you're using? And not an onscreen "card"? Well, that closes the book on this deal for me; I have no data plan on my phone and don't want one.

Thanks for the info though! (Don't know why they don't just tell you this on their site...lol.)

I think you may be mistaken on We Happy Few, as the developer warned us last week that it would going up this week. The price went to $60 yesterday and then back to the game preview $30 for one more day. I got this info from their twitter account, I also tried it for around 45 min and really like the vibe it had. I jumped in at $30 as I think this game will be a sneaky hit that just may sneak out to 1.0 this year to help Xbox with its exclusive list.
just confirmed for PS4

I believe it's specifically when you are using the card. Granted all I know is what I skimmed from that reddit thread and the website. But I think how it works if you plan on purchasing tickets at the box office is that you select the movie in the app, and check in when you are in the parking lot a d they authorize the card to be used, then you go purchase your tickets with it like any other credit card. Kind of a weird way to do things, but the price is hard to ignore. Seems like the process is much simpler when you are ordering tickets ahead of time with the reserved seating theaters

yeah, after you check in they load up your card with the money to buy the tickets.

Xbox One needs some light gun games. I was at Chuck E Cheese w/ the son the other day and they had some gun game there and it made we wish I had something similar at home.

The only gun games we got for Xbox 360 were some hunting ones. Not interested in that. I want something like Terminator or shooting zombies or something.

Hmm, there are quite of a few of those season passes that interest me, but can't decide if they are really worth it.

Anyone suggest to steer clear of the Dues Ex, Battlefront, Just Cause 3, or AC: syndicate season passes?

Out of all those games I've only actually played battlefront
FYI AC: Syndicate SP has Jack the Ripper missions and story content. I'd say all the ones you stated I think should be picked up sans Deux Ex, unfortunately they padded that game's SP stuff.

I Decided to use the Kinect 2.0 tonight and finally play Fru. That...is a stupidly ingenious game.
See that's why Kinect games really aren't on the same level as games that get reviewed all the time. I agree, there's a few Kinect titles that are instant party classics - you mentioned Fruit Ninja 2 but also Dance Central Spotlight also one of them.

I have my TB headset (800X) charging base powered by my Xbox and an ext hdd in the other slot so yeah I need to invest in a USB hub sometime too. It's one of the reasons I haven't gotten my Kinect 2.0 out of the box in a long time and also I have a Wii U now so that's really the party box or a slight distraction in the gesture gaming department.

yeah, the game just launched minutes ago. 1 hour trial and the game is $35.

Game of Thrones fans: Another episode was leaked online, beware of spoilers.
Trying to avoid spoilers on the internet.

Extremely off topic but does anyone use movie pass? $10 a month for one movie per day, this sounds like a really good deal even if you only see two movies a month.

https://www.engadget.com/2017/08/15/moviepass-unlimited-movies-10-dollars-a-month/
It doesn't include IMAX so I'm out lol. It's a bit of a drive for me to go anywhere to see a movie so I'm not gonna drive 30 minutes away to go to a shit theater in Oneonta dubbed "the dirt mall". I'll drive about an hour and see a movie at the IMAX theater in Albany Crossgates but then again since it's so far away I only go like 3-4 times a year. Meh, seems like a good deal for people that live near the theaters though.

It seems the app for MoviePass isn't compatible with my phone, or the old junk one I have sitting around. There is some kind of beta version but it says it's full. I emailed them but if they don't have a fix for me I guess I'll have to cancel. You'd think they would let you use a browser as an option.

Is the app the only way to register?

I was having trouble signing up through the app. I got several errors gemerayed along the way. Got to the part where I enter my billing info but the submit button wouldn't turn active.

So if I paid $10 for Forza Horizon 3, do you think the expansion pass is a good deal at $17.49?
No, by getting a good deal you've put yourself in a corner that you just can't get out of. You should have paid more to justify the purchase. Spending $27.49 for what originally cost $99.99 is like losing money. Just give up.

I registered on the website without checking for the app since it just says Android or iOS is needed, but I guess my Android isn't supported. I'm thinking maybe they'll send me some kind of way to access the beta that I found but if not I'm probably SOL since you have to check in at the theater from the app.

Recommend me a good free iOS game? I made a very last minute trip back to my friend and it's turned into a multi day thing. I am already so sick of hospitals, even though I used to work in one.

Maybe you should upgrade your phone. Tne app says it require Android 4.1 and above. Your phone must be pretty old. I'm sure even the cheapo prepaid Android phones should be able to run it.

Yesterday the site was slammed, so lots of people were getting errors on the website as well. Supposedly AMC Theatres is trying to stop Movie Pass.

https://www.pcmag.com/news/355620/amc-is-trying-to-prevent-moviepass-use-in-its-theaters

AMC Theatres is listed as being accepted according to MoviePass's website.

Supposedly MoviePass just generates a debit card for you to use to buy the tickets. So if AMC Theatres does end up working and you are an AMC Stubs members you should consider registering your Stubs card for 2x points until 10/31.

https://www.amctheatres.com/bonus-points/double-points-days

It is an insanely good deal, but a problem I see is that you have to buy the tickets at the box office. That could be a problem for reserved seats theatres. I know in my area if you haven't reserved seats online and wait to buy tickets at the box office you are likely to get crappy seats. Supposedly you can buy advance tickets, but of course you'd still need to do that at the box office and only 1 ticket can be purchased per day.

If you’ve never played Costume Quest, it just went free. Won’t work on iOS 11 though.

Yep, and supposedly Grubbins on Ice (in-app purchase) is also free. I don't have an Apple devices to verify, but it's mentioned on the site.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/costume-quest/id632297587

Dropchord is also free.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dropchord/id616302485

Supposedly they will not be supporting these game anymore. The Cave is also one of the ones they won't support anymore, but that's still $4.99. Maybe that will drop to free at some point.

If you are on android aren't there apps that will change your GPS location? That would be a good work around.
