I'm about three hours into south park. I'm enjoying it as much as the first one and enjoy the changes they've made (at least I think the combat was different, it's been a while since the first game.). I will say that I'm playing on the hardest difficulty and it's still really easy. I've died in combat twice and a few other times from random environmental stuff. I do wish there was a way to skip cutscenes, the two times I died were during story fights that had cutscenes before them. Was going back and forth on whether to get the game or wait and I'm glad I decided to pick it up.

I've been waiting for a good sale for this, and that may be as good as it gets for awhile with the expansions releasing. Now I just have to go back and see how discount game + season pass compares to the "complete bundle" they have coming up.

[Edit] If what i'm seeing is correct, it will be the same. $30 (discounted game) + $40 (SP) vs $70 Premium Edition.

Yes combat is different. Previously characters were not mobile on the grid. They simply selected their available target. Combat controls were slightly different as well. Also I don't think they're was crafting in The Stick of Truth. But yes this game is awesome. Worth every penny.

Do you have your combat set to Masterful as well? I agree tho, this game is very easy, at least so far.

In Stick of Truth you were solo for a while before you acquired combat buddies. I got stuck in a few spots where I wasn't sufficiently leveled up and couldn't go back to level up like on the alien ship.

In The Fractured But Whole you have combat buddies early on. I think that makes it easier.
 
A bit off topic but Warhammer Quest 2 is out on iOS and it’s fantastic. If you like turn based RPGs, highly recommend it for the small $4.99 asking price. There’s some additional characters you can buy for IAPs but they’re unnecessary. And a whole additional campaign but from what I understand even the main campaign is a good length.

I forget what it's called, but I set it so I'd get "the token experience" achievement. I was leveling up crafting too fast. It would say "this unlocks on the next skill level", but when I got to the skill level it would bump the unlock to the next level because I hadn't gotten to a certain npc. So I was able to craft more powerful articafts than I was supposed to I think. I think I'm like 40 combat power over the recommended level for story missions right now.

If you change skin color I thought that affected everything but combat.
 
PSA ... just got my (10) Forza 7 Instant Win sweepstakes keys today, literally the day before you will no longer be able to redeem them. I purchased the game on 10/4 and just got them today. Of course, I won nothing. Further adding insult to injury, I believe the grand prize winners have already been drawn (saw 3 winner's names bannered for it on Bing Rewards.) And I still am waiting for my 5,000 Xbox Reward points for purchasing. So if you were waiting on your 10 keys, might be worth checking if hadn't recently.

Maybe that's why they extended the promotion. I keep forgetting to check in and play.

 
About the new dashboard, having had it for a while with the preview, it definitely grows on you and is honestly a really nice version once you get used to it. Also nice to see the JRPG talk here, I was never huge on FF7, consider it my least favorite PS1 FF (7

For what its worth it says winners aren't drawn until Nov 1 for the grand prize the one on bing must be for a separate contest. Also in the rules it says the 5000 xbox rewards points will be awarded on or around Oct 30th. I won the hoonigan pack and the driver gear but never received them in my e-mail yet but I see people giving the codes away dunno what happened there.

So is the new Assassin's Creed supposed to be all that?  Somebody hype me up on it!  I have some BB credit to use and looking at the remaining games that offer a bonus.  Either that or COD at this point most likely.

Yes you missed it. Microsoft made every Xbox 360 game BC today and also gave them away free but no one wanted to talk about it in this thread because we prefer talking about social and geopolitical issues now. Please check Huffington Post for the latest Xbox news from now on.

How many of you have bought an EA game since you became an EA Access member?

...I think I want to get Battlefront II for the single-player campaign, but I also know it will be free in twelve months.  I love Star Wars hype, but the CAG in me just can't pull the trigger!

That was kinda my plan too. I bought the NES classic for my son and he has zero interest. So I bought a SNES and I’m afraid he’ll have the same response. So...pretty sure I’m going to offload both of them for some $ towards the X...FOR ME!

Dude. It’s in fucking Egypt... EGYPT!!!!

I’m hyped about it. I’m just going to dump Destiny 2 and Shadow of War whenever we get a GS promo.

AC:O and CoD:WWII are the next in line. Then I’ll decide what I want to upgrade to digital by what I’m still wanting to play orneill sink a bunch of time into.

I have bought the first 3 mass effects, Garden Warfare 2, Titenfall 2, and preordered Battlefron 2. I will admit though that it is hard to justify.

If you just want the campaign, either rent it or wait for it to be free. The campaign will likely only last 6+ hours, assuming you go for every try achievement, but you likely won't, so you can cut off an hour or two. Just think, the AI will always be dumb, they'll never change tactics like a human will, so playing it now or in a year won't make a difference.

I’ve bought very few. Admittedly I can’t resist some games. BF 2 and the new Need For Speed game will be among them.

I haven’t bought a single sports game though. The games in the Vault are plenty for me. And even the 10 hour trials last me a while for newer versions of those games.

I love EA ACCESS but by the way they’re going I’m not buying an EA game that’s linked to it. I’ve bought Titanfall 1&2, Battlefield 1 and others and when they are free to play I felt like it wasn’t worth it. I know everyone’s opinion is different but lately EA games are not a keeper for me. I prefer paying $30 a year to keep having that digital library.

I have both an NES and an SNES unopened I've considered selling to put towards an X fund but know the market has gone down some. Might still look into it.

I still got $125 for my SNES which I didn’t think was too bad. May have gotten more if I sold it right away but, hell, that takes about 25% of the cost of my X away so I can live with that.

I chose ninjas. I haven't run in to any or know exactly what it does, I'm assuming they just are harder to beat.

I thought that condom quest was funny, but I feel like I've run into too many NPCs that just have "buy this super expensive item from me and I'll take a selfie with you." I hope there's a little more to the items you buy than allowing you a selfie. Otherwise I'll be a bit disappointed in a bunch of "side quests."

I still buy a good chunk honestly, I'll be getting Battlefront 2 digitally even having EA Access, there's other stuff that I wait for though, depends on the game, Need for Speed for example looks awesome, but I'll wait for it to be in the vault.

 
Finally beat South Park. It ended up taking me 25 hours and I didn't collect all the yoai. I have 4 other titles I didn't complete but that's it. My GS on one play-through was 750/1000. I'm assuming if I beat it with a black character it would almost be complete. I'm also missing some secret achievements that apparently  80% or more of players have gotten so I might look into those. Great game that's definitely worth the buy one day.

I've bought a few, but none full price. Mostly, it's stuff that had a price drop I was comfortable with, and the game wasn't on EA Access at that point.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is one. $20 for the disk. Played but didn't finish (it's just not as good as the trilogy), then traded it. Two months later, it came to Access.

Titanfall 2 was another. $20 again. Didn't trade that one, but having the Access digital copy is more convenient.

The best thing, I think, is playing games I wouldn't have bought in the first place. The Battlefields come to mind. I enjoy the campaigns, but don't care about the multiplayer, so I never buy them.

On the whole, I'll still buy EA games even though I'm on Access. I certainly wont, and don't, pay full price for any of them, though.

I will definitely be getting Assassin's Creed: Origins sooner rather than later. My issue is....what platform.

The last three AC games I have played have been on PC. I am excited for 4K / HDR / Dolby Atmos on Xbox One X....but I think I would really miss 60fps.

Remember that rumor of Ubisoft doing a 60fps mode on AC:O - and they responded in early September with the following?

“It is too soon for us to say, as of today as the game framerate has not been locked yet. Our goal is take full advantage of the hardware horsepower to deliver the best possible experience on all platforms. Assassin’s Creed Origins will use dynamic resolution rendering, so the resolution will adapt to ensure a smooth frame rate and the best image possible in all situations.”

I would love a more definite answer now that launch is seven days and five hours away.

 
Just tried Fortnite after seeing a bunch of you guys saying you bought founders packs or whatever. So the pvp premise is you join a match, collect gear, get killed, lose the gear you just collected, and get booted to the lobby? Where's the incentive to play something like that?

I bought TF2 while I still had EA Access. And I bought Andromeda for under $10 recently. I really don't play many EA Access games so I let it expire a few months ago.

I hated Evil Within, but many people love it. I enjoyed Watch Dogs (especially the hacking multiplayer), but a lot of people don't. Didn't play the second.

Almost done with Shadow of War I think. Feels short, but it isn't. I just am craving more content already and I haven't even memorized all the maps yet.
