Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

Actually am looking forward to Jedi Academy again. Saw it new for the bargain price of $119 on Amazon!

They do have them used for ~$12. I’ll settle for the $9.99 XBL price thank you very much.
Saw the same. Did pick up some of the sub $10 games - couple from local store and some from gamestop.

If we get lucky ms will give us some sale prices on these OG bc games like they did with some of the 360 bc games not too long ago. But I won't f hold my breath.

none of today's "xbox one x enhanced" announced games are showing up under the "enhanced" section of my game library. i like that shortcut but it's too bad it's not working right now.

This is fucking glorious.
This is why I'm a MS fanboy.

BC saving me so much $$$

Or is it? Now I want digital versions of the OG XBox games.

I searched for the star wars games and couldn't find them, in manual search or under bc. where can i find these games digitally?

There is a joystick sticking out of the top of my head. If you want me to look up you pull it back, and if you want me to look down you push it forward. Simple.
I understand how it works and the logic behind it, however many people prefer "normal" controls, hence why pretty much every modern game has the choice. I wasn't arguing for or against the control scheme, I was just letting people know who were thinking about picking it up.

For me in flight sims it works great, but first person and third person I much prefer "left = look left".

They’re not there currently but I’m hoping they will be by time they go BC.

That said maybe I should order Jedi Knight from GS just in case.

Well hey buying Red Dead last night paid off and nothing I passed on wound up BC.

Did they mention anything about game pass with the announcement? There’s a few titles I would at least like to see how they are still but wouldn’t buy any of them since I expect the reality to be very harsh. That and I also had almost all of them at one point and sold them off for next to nothing.

That's how Microsoft will get you.

I have seen several mentions of red dead bc. I'm kinda lost here, it's been available for download before. Are we getting a free copy or something?
I checked my ready to install section and have various 360 games ready to install that I know I didn't buy digital copies of. No red dead showing up even though I played it and owned all the content.

It’s because it got an update today for Xbox One X enhancements and looks great in 4K glory (still has some pop in and the character models look like shit, but everything else is gorgeous IMO).

When can I purchase Morrowind?

I know it won't actually get released for another week, but I want to experience the thrill of paying money for it now anyway!

Yeah that's my take away, the horse and character models show their age a bit, but looks beautiful

They all showed up in the Enhanced section of my Ready to Install list before I downloaded them.

I agree, left = left and anything else can go to hell!

I think they will be sold digitally. Probably one reason for the staggered release.

In other news, Sonic Generations is a beauty on X as well. Funny,
Playing Sonic Forces last year, I didn’t think it was as bad as the reviews made it out to be. But playing Generations, I can see how much better it is.

How is it saving you money? You need to own the games already or would have to go buy them. It's no different from using a DVD player to play a CD.
Because the competition would make you pay for PSNow or do more remasters. PS4 doesn't have BC.

*Goes to pre-order Dark Souls remastered*

MS shits all over Sony in this respect, regardless.

People would probably pay a good amount for Red Dead remaster and here we are with X enhanced Red Dead.

I'd imagine Burnout would have looked great X enhanced but people were willing to spend $40 on the Burnout Paradise remaster.

Hope that's not the reason for no Burnout 3 takedown and It's solely on the licensed music.

From what I can tell the enhanced games that I own on that list (portal 2 and RDR complete) still looks the same but has absolute zero jaggies and everything is crystal clear and corners/edges on everything is sharp as hell. What's funny is in portal 2 the reticle is still 720p so it looks bad.

You need to own a $500 console to see those enhancements, so it's probably a wash if you compare that to owning a base system and buying remastered games. The competition doesn't need BC because they get a flood of new games every month. That's actually something I want Microsoft to pivot away from - they can't compete on the exclusives front, but if they invest more into Xbox Live and Game Pass, those could be marquee services. Imagine if Game Pass was the game equivalent of Movie Pass: in exchange for selling our personal info, we get new releases in Game Pass. It's interesting how Phil said he wants Game Pass to be like Netflix, but Movie Pass almost makes it look like a ripoff in comparison.

Yeah these patches seem to be mostly upping the resolution and applying texture filtering. So vector based UI elements scale appropriately but raster ones don't since there's no actual asset replacement.

I mean they could again but that takes time and their strategy was very publicly that they weren't going to court exclusives because people don't care about them anymore. Until everything becomes exclusive to Sony and they realize that people still care about that stuff. Then they had a bunch of huge misfires, delays, and cancellations and it just all snowballed.

Sure, you need a $500 console to see them in 4k X glory but even with a S your getting your BC games to work without paying a single more cent. As for new games every month MS is lagging no doubt. But now with gamepass your paying $120 a year (or less) your getting ALL of Microsoft's first party titles and that value can't be seen on Sony or Nintendo's consoles. Sign me the fuck up if I can get all of Sony's exclusive and 100+ other titles for $120 (or less) a year.

Not to mention on GamePass, you could always do Microsoft Rewards and get it free every month for about 5 minutes of work per day.

Reminder, the Earthlock rerelease should be a free upgrade for everyone (wasn’t it a GwG?). I might have to give it another shot.

Oh, and Ys Origin is fantastic. Great action RPG. Don’t remember it being that cheap at $19.99 on release on PS4 (and Vita).

Edit: it was that cheap. My memory is going.

Edit 2: Oh fuck, I think I may have talked myself into a double dip

Funny, I can't play FPS games which don't offer inverted controls (which are very few these days). Some third person games don't, though, and it's something I can never unlearn or adjust to. I'm always shocked when I remember lots of people don't use or default to them.

I'm the same. Cannot play if the controls aren't inverted.

Just hold your controller upside down :p

Mark me down as another one who successfully got their original account un-suspended from Microsoft Rewards. They sent me a couple emails about looking into it, but never got one that had the actual resolution. I checked this morning and I'm able to log in so I'm good to go, had a few thousand points in there also.

edit: Downside looks like they switched over the "Microsoft Gift Card" and "Xbox Gift Card" to direct deposit on my account. Since someone said they just got a code seems to be rolling out randomly.

Just a reminder that you can invert the sticks for everything in the settings. It makes navigating Xbox menus weird, but you could launch the game, tweak settings, and then hit B to go back to the game. Just remember to switch back when you're done!

I'm nervous to ask them to do it for me since some people set up another Bing account with a non xbox affiliated email. 😁
