Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Unique RPG, classic dialogue choices and apparently you can play a lot of the game without fighting anyone with the right attributes and dialogue choices. I could have sworn it was $10 or less because I bought it awhile back thinking it was ultra cheap but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Oh yeah I forgot the downside: Unlike Divinity Original Sin (which I just finished, great CRPG and I heard the sequel is GOAT material) a majority of the lines were not voiced. So hope you like reading a lot lol.
Torment is awesome but yeah the dialogue not being voiced was frustrating as hell.

Does anyone here own Samsung 4K NU models and would like to provide some opinions? I'm seeing conflicting reviews with some saying it's not worth it/better than the MU models.

I'm looking for a relatively cheap 4K TV to replace one of my dying 1080p TVs, and the NU-models are on sale currently.
Look into the new TCLs. I have a Samsung MU8000 and at last year TCL. I can't tell the difference and the TCL was like $1000 cheaper. The new TCLs are even better I read.

Just got back from Taco Bell with the girlfriend and ate her taco. Happy date night! [emoji23]
Wife and I loved Taco Bell when we were younger. We would go out drinking and always crush that $10 pack of 10 tacos. Fun times. That's how I knew she was a keeper. Sadly, she isn't a gamer. I guess we can't have it all. Lol

Sweet, will probably get this, I always wanted to play it back when it came out on the Wii.

Both games were in a bundle for ~$7 a few weeks ago.
Thinking about A Boy any his Blob as well. No clue why. I don't need more games in my backlog.

And yes to anyone looking at Bleed 2. I picked up the bundle when it was on sale last week (waiting for that) and would highly recommend it, even though I haven't even touched it yet.

"How would you know if you never tried it?"

That sir is a stale, repugnant, [emoji90]y, and thoughtless argument and it's refutation is named Induction.

Microsoft has everything set up to universal time.
Which is weird based on the way Windows uses the OS clock, which in turn leads to a fight between OS's when using a Linux / Windows dual boot.

Epoch time. Local time. Epoch time. Local time. Duck season. Rabbit season. Duck season. Rabbit season. Rabbit season. I say it's duck season. Bang!

You're ... despicable.

Credits are/were deposited around 15th & 30th of every month. If you missed the cutoff, it gets pushed to the next one. The only deposit time left is on 06/14. U can see your pending credits bar under MyCredits - right side of this page https://rewards.xbox.com/en-US/myrewards/#myPerks near the top. About the middle of the page, under Pending Credits it will say what the credits are earned from.

Below that is all the MyVIP perks & gems stuff which is probably what anyone ever looks at on that page coz some stuff you had to manually claim.
Thank you. I found the pending credits there, and see them listed later down the page as being accounted for on 5/24, but I guess that was too late for the late May deposit. I'll keep an eye out next week to make sure they credit to my MS account. I appreciate the help.

Has anyone used Xbox Ambassadors, the volunteers, for support? There's a thread on Reddit right now where a few people have claimed that the ambassadors have tried to phish for credit card or login info. Wanted to know if those were isolated incidents or if it's actually common since there seems to be no vetting process to become an ambassador.
https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comments/8onbx3/do_not_use_xbox_ambassadors_for_any_payment/

I’ve been an ambassador for a year and change and find it hard to believe the info about phishing, at least through the online chat feature. There’s always the chance of a creep but the chat has controls built in to auto block personal information. I’ve had people try to post their gamer tags or other personal info and the chat automatically redacted the information. If an ambassador attempted to gain this kind of info they would be removed from the program. I’d imagine there would be other penalties (banning, suspension, etc) but don’t have any concrete details.

Lots of overlap with Taco Bell and spouses here!

Taco Bell is somewhat responsible for my girlfriend and I. She used going there between classes in our grad program as an excuse to hang out with me. If we ever get hitched, there will be some Taco Bell involved.

It's reddit so I say it's truthfulness is at about a 5%, most likely some dumb kind of warped sense of "gamerz making things right" backlash since they removed paid Xbox twitter support and are using volunteers or ambassadors. You can see the cringe worthiness of some gamers in these comments alone.

Don't get married at the Taco Bell in Vegas ;) This dude is a fairly famous game journalist at GiantBomb and he said you end up having to pay so much in taxes. https://www.tacobell.com/married-at-taco-bell

Because I want to brag and she's a mild gamer, and more importantly supports my gaming habit(mild addiction, like most of us here), I proposed to my 4 year girlfriend last week and we changed from getting married next year to doing it on Friday the 13th(July, and yes the cake will have Jason on it, and the party will wear black). Cue crunch planning, we're doing the ceremony at a local brewery that we go to for Sunday brunch all the time(breakfast pizza is godlike).

Pretty shocked a huge company like Microsoft would have volunteers offering tech support. I know a lot of trouble-shooting is crowd-sourced online these days, but can't anyone become an Xbox Ambassador??

Wow, a sauce packet bouquet. Impressive.

I was thinking more like... a portion of the food available, or the first stop on a honeymoon. I think her family would kill me if I convinced her to get married in a Taco Bell.

Honestly it sounds like it's just the @XboxSupport twitter account that really didn't do anything but say yeah we're aware Live is down standby

It's a slow week before E3, brag away. This sounds awesome, congrats!

The feed never had much content, but if you look at the replies, a lot of people message the account and they often switch to DMs. I don't really use Twitter but I have one for stuff like that, and usually got pretty quick responses from them the few times I used it.

I was shocked by this too. Can't they just outsource customer support to India or the Philippines like every other corporation if they really wanted to save a few pennies? If you click on support on the Xbox website, the ambassadors are the first option before official staff, so they're just leveraging their fanbase for free labor.

In the post I linked to, which has now been deleted - and OP says he didn't delete it himself - the ambassador asked for credit card information in a specific format, so it sounded like he knew that that information would be autocensored but may have knew a way to circumvent that filter. Sure I can believe that someone abusing their ambassador privileges would be kicked out of the program or that their Microsoft account would be banned, but what's that compared to gaining access to people's sensitive financial info? Can you describe the vetting process you had to do, if there was one?

They might turn you down, but if you are persistent they will cater your event!

Cool. I got the 5,000 credits that I redeemed from the vault on June 1. I was wondering if Xbox Live Rewards would be able to add credits after the end of May.

Though now the credits rewards are out of stock, and if they do come back you'd probably want to redeem them a few days before Xbox Live Rewards shuts down. It took four days for me to get the credits.

Now I'm just waiting for my $10 PSN credit from Sony Rewards, and my Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon code.

Well, that's how you do business nowadays... why pay someone a a miserable salary when you can get your clients to work for you for free!?

The gaming industry have been doing it for years now... I'm sure I dont need to explain here how QI and testing have mostly went down the drain in the digital world a while ago now.

FYI for any dual console owners. The Surge Complete Edition is currently free on PSN. Sony might pull the licenses but worth a shot. I grabbed it.

I see $49.99 $12.49 and a free demo. Are you sure you got the full game? I've seen lots of instances in the past where people downloaded the demo thinking it was the full game. Where did you make the purchase?

Complete edition should be 59.99. I grabbed it from the app. Seems it's for PS+. Some have reported the ps+ logo showing up on the listing now.

As someone else noted, only seems to be for PS+. Not home to check to see if it actually downloaded the whole thing. Did it on the web store on my phone.

FYI for any dual console owners. The Surge Complete Edition is currently free on PSN. Sony might pull the licenses but worth a shot. I grabbed it.
Thanks for posting that. Maybe Sony is using their fans for free labor too since another game, Cosmic Star Heroine, was mistakenly free just before too.

The Complete Edition. Should be under Bundles, if you scroll down on the listing you posted.

So don't go online with your PS4 until you finish it? Didn't they just remove everyone's free copy of one of the Yakuza games that was supposed to be a demo but was actually the full game?

Not sure about Yakuza. They usually do revoke licenses but I do still have Knack 2 from a freebie screw up. So always worth a shot.

Long form interview with, Matt Booty, the guy now doing the Phil Spencer role now that Phil has moved up another executive level. Got to say I don't really like anything he said.
If I had any hope of Microsoft devolping new/ better exclusives this guy killed it. Not sure what positive he thought we would get from this.

No vetting to speak of. You have to meet the following requirements:

Are at least 17 years of age or older
Have at least 1500 Gamerscore
Have an active Xbox Live Gold Membership
Have no prior Enforcement actions against their account within the last year

You sign up using your gamertag, which theoretically should contain your personal I info, but if you’re going in to steal credit card info you’re not going to put your real info on the account anyway.

1500 GS is the barrier to entry? So I get a $1 game pass sub knock out 1500 GS in a day (totally doable), and now I’m qualified to represent MS? That’s weak. It should be at least 50K, maybe even 100K. That takes some time.
