7/2 - 7/8 ... Ultimate Games Persistent Sales:

* =  Want to Buy Games On Demand Using Microsoft Points? [customspoiler="GonD with MSP"]
Often overlooked, GoD are by default displayed in dollars both on Xbox.com as well as on the console, but on the very-first confirmation screen of the download process is the option to use Microsoft Points in place of real-world currency.

Through the console, after first selecting to download a GoD you are greeted by a familiar gray confirmation screen that pops up displaying the size of the download as well as confirming the price. At the bottom of this gray pop-up is the instruction to press the "X button" in order to change the payment type to MSP. Pictured below with an arrow:

On Xbox.com they've made it much more obvious, the confirmation "extra step" pop-up after clicking the download link displays a link that simply says "Use Microsoft Points" directly under the price in dollars at the top of the page.

The more you know....[/customspoiler]

How much do you guys think Dark Souls will be when it goes on sale next week? Cause I'm debating saving my points for that instead of getting Split/second this week
Thought about grabbing one of the Disney Games on Demand games, but I don't have enough hard drive space to spare for it. I hope the next Xbox is 500GB minimum, though better would be no proprietary drives at all.
It is nice that you can use USB drives for storing stuff, but yes I really hope that the next xbox doesn't use the proprietary HD. If it does it better come with a pretty big one to start though.

I would assume half off. It might only go down to $15, but it seems like most of these sales go toward 50%. I could be wrong though.

It's been mentioned in the free forum, but I couldn't find it in this thread with a search, so my apologies if this is repeat info.

Doritos Crash Course, the original, has once again been listed on the marketplace for those who missed out on adding it to their accounts.

Alan Wake GoD price has been updated to $4.99

played the (rather substantial) AA: American Nightmare trial, and surprisingly really enjoyed it. I wasn't huge, as I've said, on the original, but most of that was because of the repetitive combat and enemies, which seems to be much improved in AN. Will almost certainly pick this one up:D

ok i need some imput..do i buy amaerican nightmare or alan wake..take into account ive beat alan wake once before but i have the dlc that i need to beat.any imput be great
Alan is 400msp right now guys.
160msp on Hungarian Marketplace. Can't check if is region free at the moment.

edit: Yay, bought. What a steal! I'm from EU with PAL 360 btw.

Split Second is my favorite racing game from this generation, just lots of fun. You would also be crazy not to jump on Alan Wake and American Nightmare at those prices.

Man, I already got Alan Wake for my PC (runs it beautifully, BTW), but $5 is too good of a price to miss out on having it on my Xbox 360.

Edit: Split/Second is on sale, too!? Geez, my wallet can't take any more of this.

Lol, it is indeed, cheaper even than American Nightmare! Time to finally play these dlc's.

How did you pay? Can you pay through Paypal/card? Because im not going to spend money for a 400MSP card to spend 160 :/

Dang 400 MSP for Alan Wake?! Count me in. :D

They must be doing this as a nice thing for the bad news they may release today. Haha. My first live purchase since March. :booty:

With bing codes. Actually i already had 60 points on this account and added only 100. ^^

It can be bought on any Xbox, no matter which region. I declared that game for that price, Region free.

don't (shouldn't) we already have a thread or link to other xbox marketplaces with deals like alan awake? I thought I saw one a few weeks ago.
When do the rest of the sales go live?
Darkstalkers is still 1200 pts
Darkstalkers is next week.

Was waiting to see what the HU market had it at.

Sold the disc then I picked up the CE. For 160MSP I got the GonD so in never tempted to open up the CE as I started American Noghtmare which makes me want to play AW again

All 800 MSP cards are universal (at least every one I have tried including the 3 packs, digital version from AMZ, even the old pre-activated clamshells).

I know but I don't have enough money for 800MSP on my card right now, and dont want to buy more MSP than i would use.
I hope to find some sites selling 160MSP codes, or i'll get it on my account.
I don't like the sound of "cloud-powered". I hope we can actually save to the HDD with this Xbox One.
I'd imagine that games and all that will saved on your system for easy access, but everything you don't need on your system (settings, profiles, and all that) will be saved to the cloud.

Xbox One will have a 500 GB HDD.

Official May price drops are WWE All-Stars $19.99, The BIGS 2 $19.99, Halo 4 $39.99 and ilomilo 400 MSP. I didn't see it mentioned in any discussions and have yet to check the OP to see if it's there.

Two Alan Wake avatar props are also on sale. Save 80 MSP on the flashlight and book.
Thanks to whoever mentioned the free Disney Enchanted Broom prop!

I think I picked up Toy Story 3 for $7.99 on Black Friday at BBY. Still have not opened it. Disney Universe seems interesting but I would prefer a $10 price point. Time to DL the demo!
looks like microsoft just confirmed that the new console doesn't need to be always online
That was always a dumb rumor.

Think they would lose out on money by making you be online?

I saw above people got Alan Wake for 160 ms points, is it still possible to get it at that price and what is the method in getting it to work through your regular xbox account.

On my phone, so I'm too lazy to post a link, but I just read that Xbox one games have to be fully installed to the hd to work. There will also be a "pre owned fee," if it detects a previously used disc. That is probably a dealbreaker for me.
True and new games have a mandatory install and run without the disc BUT used games have a fee associate with them to install.

If that's true, no way I'm paying for that crap. :booty:

On topic, Alan Wake was fun but it was a one & done game for me, Barry/aka Joe Pesci gets so old after awhile. I'd still like to see them do another one though. I can easily recommend Amer. Nightmare too.
Xbox One will have a 500 GB HDD.
Not being BC with Xbox 360 stuff at least means that it'll last longer than if it was BC.

I guess that whole Used Game Fee is true, but for some reason it doesn't seem right. I mean, isn't Gamestop a big partner with MS, Sony, Nintendo? Wouldn't that severe the partnership?

So that's why EA dropped Online Passes

I loved Barry! He was a needed comic relief.
Not being BC with Xbox 360 stuff at least means that it'll last longer than if it was BC.
Very true. That's one good thing. I'll wait for the inevitable Xbox One 1 TB HDD and a price drop before upgrading anyways.

Not if they sell the used discs with a used game code to allow installation. GameStop recognized the emergence of digital and that's why they sell digital codes for subscriptions, points, games and DLC. This is an extension of that. Then again, we will need to see the fee. Will it be $5-10 less than the new game price just like it is now. It all depends on price.
So that's why EA dropped Online Passes
Exactly what my friend and I said when they made that announcement.
But seriously though, that was quite disappointing.

Anyways, It looks like I'll be picking up the Alan Wake dlc and American Nightmare.
 My friendly literally just texted me comparing it to a VCR. I said it's more sleek like a DVR but basically the same thing ha.

I'm going to update the OP with the official May price drops and link to the free Disney avatar broom.
Then they better have a damned good digital storefront with lots of frequent and deeply discounted games. Hamstringing the used market doesn't just punish Gamestop.
Yeah, poor Gamefly :(

No Backwards Compatibility confirmed even for digital content? Yeah... no... thank you MS you can shove this thing up your ***

Only things that will be transfered are Music, Movies and Avatar Stuff...yeah the important things...I see... not all of my games or DLC...because I won't need THAT on a GAMING console..
