The Off TV Play is mainly what I'm referring to I guess, and the list of games that support it is pretty short. The Wii U library sucks anyways, and the list of games that support it is much shorter still.

This is Nintendo's hallmark though now: "Here, buy a new console/handheld that's significantly underpowered compared to actual current gen, at a price point that isn't realistic given how underpowered it actually is and the quality of the components, with features that either game devs won't even support in their games, or that you'll choose to not use to save battery life (think 3DS' 3D mode, or probably the Switch's portable mode)".

I got one of those $10 microsoft emails too, which is kinda weird since I haven't bought anything on the store in months.  Used mine on a EA Access pass, bringing it down to $20.  It did correctly add a year to the sub, I know at one point the pass was a bit buggy and wouldn't correctly add a full year but that seems fixed at least.  Its hilarious how bad the microsoft sites are though, the link that tells you how to redeem the code first sends you to a new window on microsoft.com, when you paste the code it then opens another window on xbox.com, when you paste the code it opens yet another window to confirm.  So user friendly, opening 4 windows to redeem a code!

I bought a refurb wii u and got it this week, did all the crazy Haxchi and Mocha installs via SD card and now my wii u is completely jailbroken and able to run anything.  Played an hour of some import games that US never got and installed the retroarch emulator for NES/SNES roms, and can also install any wii ROM as well.  For $200 well worth it, and should be able to run BOTW just fine too.

I love the 3D in 3DS. Use it pretty much whenever I play. Even liked watching movies in 3D on it. I'm sure it'll be dropped if they ever come out with another dual screen portable, but I've certainly enjoyed it. And Switch's portable mode is the best thing about it, to me, at this point. As said with Wii U, love Off-TV play, and Switch undocked is basically all that. Still not planning to get a Switch at launch, but Off-TV without being tied to a console is big incentive to eventually get one.

I'm navigating the Xbox 360 dashboard and I see no mention of the Sonic sales.  Even "More Games" doesn't list them.

When do all the updates take place?   Does the Xbox One have a similar issue announcing all the sales on screen?

I don't know if they've given up yet since Zelda is their last U game, but they have been known to include forced updates on discs before that break homebrew exploits, though that was on the original Wii. Haven't followed the Wii U scene at all though, just heard it was possible more so than the internal Wii hack that has been their since launch.

Thanks! I'm so psyched for this!! Being able to play solo (with AI squadmates) as well as with friends is such a great feature. Now we just need a new Splinter Cell.... ;)

 
^ I hope it is more than just The Division reskinned in the mountains. Don't get me wrong, I love(d) The Division, was my most played game last year - but I got burnt out on its gameplay loop.

From what I've read, the GOTY version is all the patches and dlc on disc. So I would assume the patches to fix gameplay just get downloaded automatically like any other patch. You just won't get the dlc.

This game was great to watch people twitch party the thing. I think Polaris was the one I watched where they had some epic battles with that game. Seems like a fun local co-op experience.

And don't forget that the U.S. Cars: GOTY physical disc is GameStop exclusive, so if you hate GameStop, you're screwed.
 
I used to snap shows occasionally when I first got my xbox, but the fact that it's a whole bar is annoying. I was hoping they'd update it so it's more of a picture in picture. Like what they're doing for the new "snapped" achievement tracker from screenshots I've seen. Since it's been over a year since I've used it, I won't miss it.

I had to leave the snapped window up to receive skype calls from my one friend that had to use it instead of party chat, but now party chat works for him. Good riddance to snap window BS.

My console is always late to the party when there's an update I'm interested in... I want to test the new game dvr layout to see if it's any easier/better than double tap xbox + X.

Tempted to pick up Alien Spidy, Bionic Commando Rearmed, and Darkstar One in hopes of future BC so they can sit in my x1 backlog.. Anyone recommend these?

Only time I use the snap function is when it pops up by accident mostly when I use voice command then I have to search for the controller to exit it. Glad it's gone and by removing it, things get faster.

Someone above mentioned having to Skype chat on XB1. So how would this work now if snap is gone? Can you no longer Skype while gaming? How do you start Twitch?

 
Damn. I actually used to use snap when I was half watching a game, but just wanted to mess around in a game. Oh well. Would have liked to see a PiP option with a movable box to whatever corner you wanted.

I also used to have a buddy who didn't have a Xbox so he'd skype in while I played Titanfall. This was the original Titanfall, so a while ago lol.

 
I hate when I want to view a guide to an achievement and it will only snap the trueachievement app never full screen it, which makes scrolling down a huge pain. snapping twitch used be something I do while playing boring parts of a game like collectible collecting

 
If any of you have Threes! in your backlog, you may want to fire it up and knock out the achievement for playing while snapped.  Though it's a 199 pointer, which may throw off your last digit.  A couple other easy 3 pointers in the game can get you back to a 5 or 0.

 
I really didn't use snap much, but when I did, it was super useful. Not sure I'll miss it much, but when I'm wanting to snap Twitch or use the Ubisoft Club to check on challenges while playing Siege, I'll probably curse the decision.

I just started Division last week and been playing with Cancerman this past week. Game is a blast. I want to say that we're gonna knock out some of the achievements for doing hard and challenging missions if you still need those. I'm just waiting for a sale on the Season Pass. $40 is insane for DLC, even if I only paid $10 for the game.

So all over at Reddit are saying PiP might replace Snap as you can see it with the achievements app. I think that's highly optimistic but I'd like it if that happened.

I swear they already said something about it replacing Snap a month or so ago. Maybe just implied I guess.

 
So I redeemed the For Honor beta code on the website.  I sign in using my extra account since I usually let my nephew "rent" my profile while he use his to play my games as I use the extra account to access other apps.  On the Friends tab, I notice that someone is signed into my profile and the description say that it's on standby in Ubisoft Club.  I thought it was my nephew but he wasn't signed on his profile.  So I sign into my profile and it says "signed out elsewhere".  

So I guess since I got the beta, I think I allowed or gave permission for Ubisoft to access my account right?  I remember when Nvidia was giving "free" Gears codes, people thought removing permission could stop them from revoking the code.  How do I remove permission again?  I just didn't like it when I signed into my account it says "signed out elsewhere".

Agree 100%. I had a great time playing the game, especially when I would hook up with randoms who had mics. I'm waiting for that DLC to drop in price because that's just ridiculous, IMO.

As far as Snap, I'm gonna miss it. It kept me sane while working the auction house in Madden and while wanting to really zone out when playing games.

This is off topic, but if any of you happen to have Amazon Prime, do yourself a favor and watch Mad Dogs. My favorite show of last year by far.

I've only experimented a bit with Twitch but I really didn't like the amount of screen the chat ate up. If I start streaming I'm just going to throw chat up on my laptop or phone.

 
Really enjoying the update & not missing snap at all so far but I didn't really use it much anyway. My Xbox seems to be quicker & I like the way the new guide is set up to quickly get to what I'm looking for. [emoji846]
