FYI I know Home-front Revolution got a bad rep for good reason at the beginning but today is the last day to grab the Full Game with Season Pass for 17.50 the season pass it self never seems to go on sale is still 25. Just giving a heads up.

I've played and enjoyed every mainline FF game in existence, and I logged ~60 hours in FFXV. You can tell they cut a lot of content out but what's there is pretty good. I'm hoping the DLC fills in some of the gaps in the narrative, because the last 1/3 of the story feels very rushed.

Extra thoughts, which I'm tagging in case anyone wants to go in 100% blind:

There's a ton to do but many of the side quests are just Borderlands-style "go to this point on the radar, kill this thing, and return." It's fun at first but gets repetitive. There is a huge post-game though with extra-hard bosses akin to the Omega Weapon in FF7 and onward, so you could spend A LOT of time with this game. Content was cut, but it isn't sparse either.

That said, unless you're committed to digital, it's dipped to $30 a few times since release and will continue to do so. S-E already made their profit at launch (recently reported) and they want people to buy the season pass now, so you could hold out for a cheaper retail copy.

So is Xcom 2 really all that? I have Xcom installed from GWG but never played it and don't typically enjoy those types of games although I'll have Halo Wars 2 on Friday. I'm thinking that will be enough to scratch that non-existent itch for a while.
 
Xcom 2 really is all that.

And Stryker... I have played Jotun, actually stuck on the last boss. It's really simple and has very basic gameplay, but the visuals are hand drawn and nice to look at. It's not very long at all, ~4 hours for a playthrough it seems
 
X-Com and X-Com 2 are both fantastic.  I have not played Halo Wars (yet), but they don't seem all that similar to me other than being turn-based.  You control a squad of 4-6 troops in X-Com and move them about to attack/counter/flank the enemy with various objectives (rescue this person, survive X turns, etc).  It's crazy good.  And the expansion pass is worth it at that price for the extras.

There's also some other Pinball FX2 table packs on sale (Women of Marvel & Aliens/Predator).

That is correct, XCOM and Halo Wars are two totally different games. XCOM being Turn Based Strategy, very tactical, and Halo Wars being Real Time Strategy, lots of strategic gameplay. XCOM was developed by Firasis Games - the development house behind Sid Meier with Civilization, Pirates and Alpha Centauri franchise fame -, published by 2K Games. Halo Wars was developed by Ensemble Studios - the development house behind Age of Empires, Age of Mythology franchises -, published by Microsoft Game Studios.

FYI if you have a 3DS and love XCOM, might I add to check out Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars.

Lego Batman 3 is pretty fun. Free roam in this game is a little goofy because it's a lot of smaller environments instead of a big city (like Gotham in Batman 2 or NYC in Marvel/Avengers). That said, totally enjoyable. There's lots to explore and discover.

Haven't played the others but I'll probably bite on Jurrasic.

Thanks. The guys at LaserTime highly recommend it, and I think it looks and sounds like a blast, but I have so much stuff I still need to play. Plus I have kids, and a wife, and a job...

But I also have space bucks just sitting around...

I'm not for or against digital... It's always nice to know I can sell something physical when I'm finished, but I never do it in a timely matter, plus titles drop in value so quickly anymore... It's almost not worth it. Plus it seems like Microsoft's strategy going forward is one continuous catalog...

I dunno what to do!

Hey shout out for the LaserTime podcast network. Did you catch their VGA 200th episode where they debated their top 20 games, lol oh man drunken fun ensues. That said, their views on certain games are subjective. I mean... Ducktales!?

I got all the achievements in FFXV, my input is don't do it, it's not a good video game, it has way too many problems and I regret everything, but by the time I was bored I was close to having them all already ;.;

I think the 360 deals are starting to come in, I see the Ball of Glory and Women of Power pack are discounted on 360. The Aliens Vs. is still full price, not sure if they are going to discount that one.

 
Kung fu panda, only because I keep my BC games separate from the non BC games and since lego indy went BC last week, the combo case has it all fucked up.

I'm aware. He just copies and formats the stuff from StoreParser. During the holiday daily deals, he was getting the markdowns from here when StoreParser was behind (or was getting them from NeoGAF, which was getting them from here). When they start posting the regularly scheduled deals before I do, then I'll worry. ;)

I was also briefly tempted by Lego Star Wars TFA on the X1 but I figure that will be $10 in a few months.

Batman 3 is terrific. One of my favorites. Jurassic World is decent, but a step below Batman 3, IMO.

Ducktales is a fine game and all. Hell, I played it on the NES when it came out and grew up with the show, but Chris is a huge HUGE Disney enthusiast and the re-release was a passion project of his during his tenure at Capcom.
 
I see Mike's opinion above, but any other opinions on Lego Batman 3 vs Lego Jurassic World? I haven't played a Lego game since Lego Island on PC about 15 years ago.

I just finished Arkham Knight if that matters.
