  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.

Thanks. I Kinda figured that might've been the case since there doesn't seem to be much change in the world of Dragon Ball games unless a new developer takes hold.

 
There's definitely a couple good games in this sale.  It looks like I already have everything I'm interested in though.  I was really hoping for a Toy Soldiers DLC sale.  Oh well, might pick up Runner 2 just because it's so cheap.

 
Make sure to download the demo BEFORE buying RR: Unbounded. I hated that game. Split/Second was the obvious muse for that reboot and it's still better.
 
Guardians of Middle-Earth isn't working on console either.  Shows $1.04 until you try to buy it, then it says $14.99

Same with Dante on the console.

Oh well, hopefully they get it figured out and don't just pull the sale.

BTW, what time do new releases for the arcade usually become available?  2AM ET still? (asking to prepare for Takedown on Friday)

Wow, after the previous 2 weeks of eh, this one's a great sale for real. Recommending Dust for those who don't have it. Already had Mass Effect for 5 bucks, great price here. Bought Dirt 2 for 5 bucks a while ago and enjoyed it all the way to the end, glad to see the 3rd one as well, this price is a no-brainer. Ridge Racer got mixed reviews but I liked it, despite the initial weird impression. I skipped Runner 2 for 6 or so bucks a while ago, now it's less than 2 and I might just bite. Daggerdale can't ramp up my interest not even at this price. Some pretty decent deals on the other games as well.

By the way, what's the deal with Guardians of Middle-Earth? I sort of remember some people on CAG not recommending it on the previous sale because of server issues. Can anyone assure me the servers are up and fine or is it pretty broken? The price is tempting but if the online doesn't work well it's got no use.

 
Grabbed Asura's Wrath; I still want to get a physical copy, but I missed out on that $10 MS Store deal on it, and haven't seen it anywhere for less than ~$18.  So worth it for me at $7.59 just to have a digital version even if I do wind up getting a deal on a physical copy at some point.

Alternatively Batman is tempting but I can hold out for a hard copy on that, that one I'm sure I can pick up for $10 or less a few years from now.  Already have Persona 4 Arena and Bastion.  I'll have to check out the Runner 2 demo, what's the general opinion on that one?  I started playing Runner 1 (via Bit Trip Saga on 3DS) and enjoy it.

The trial lets you play online. I tried it several months ago and it was laggy as bowls, but $1 is cheap enough that maybe private matches with friends won't be so bad.

If you've never played one of the Batman games, is it worth getting Arkham City for $5? Will I be lost, storywise? How about Portal? Never played the first one. Will I be lost if I start in the second one?

In for RR:U and Dirt 3. Probably in for Driver and for Motocross Madness.

Edit: Fawk... Just realized that's 4 driving games on day 1 of a week of daily sales... Hmmm... Oh well. It's like buying a HUGE $20 game. I can live with that.

You should be fine jumping in to Arkham City. I honest thought Arkham Asylum was the better game, but for $5 you can't go wrong with AC. It's a very solid game, well worth it.

Why did someone say that Dante's Inferno has been redacted? It's still showing up as $3.74 on Xbox.com for me. Though when I click the price changes to $4.98 but that's cause I'm in Australia and everything is more expensive here.

Some amazing deals. Already bought the Midway Cabinet, Runner 2 and Guardians of Middle Earth. Just debating Ridge Runner Unbounded at the moment. Sigh, Microsoft you have all my money this week.

Recommendations for those who care:

Dust (amazing)

Driver San Francisco - this is probably the best driving game since Burnout Paradise, even Yahtzee Croshaw loves this thing and he hates everything

Batman Arkham City - if you don't own this do yourself a favour

Mass Effect - This is without a doubt my favourite of the series, best story, great RPG elements, shame it all got stripped away and mucked up in the later two games which were still fairly good, but nothing matched the whole chasing a bad guy around the galaxy trying to understand what was going on. Also I loved the elevator loading scenes. Preferred those to some random loading screen with a shot of blueprints of a ship, it was far more immersive.

Dirt 3 - Great racing game

Portal 2 - you might be able to get a better price at a pawnshop or somewhere else but it's a brilliant game, I mean it's Valve and you probably own it anyways

Ruse - one of the most underrated strategy games around, if you even remotely like that genre buy this thing

Radiant Silvergun - I think the price is too high as I know I bought it sometime but don't think i paid that much, anyways it's a great bullet-hell game but I think considering some of the other prices you can probably wait for a better sale

Bastion - just buy it. I wasn't a huge fan, preferred it on the PC/Mac due to the controls being easier when shooting the arrows, but just buy it

Alan Wake's American Nightmare - Alan Wake was likely my favourite game of the last gen. This isn't as good but it's more Alan Wake. nuff said

Motocross Madness - Microsoft was sneaky here and wound up releasing something that in screenshots looks fairly pedestrian and not so great. But then you play it and this thing is just fun, heaps fun. And for this price it's a bargain.

Dante's Inferno - great game that was probably a bit harshly reviewed back in the day. I think it's definitely worth a few bucks.

After the previous 2 weeks I was like, eh, the next week is probably going to be a money-saving week as well. Need that since I want to buy Plants VS Zombies: Garden Warfare when it comes out. But as it stands, I'll likely grab Dirt 3, Driver: San Francisco, Runner2, and possibly something else too. With DoDonPachi Resurrection getting in my mail next week (hopefully), and still plenty of backlog I'm working on, I'm not even sure if I should even get PvZ day one.

For those who have asked you can play Guardians in single player mode. I think you might have to have a connection but I've never had any connection issues playing it in single player mode. Played it some last week and I ha a blast with it.

Alternatively Batman is tempting but I can hold out for a hard copy on that, that one I'm sure I can pick up for $10 or less a few years from now. Already have Persona 4 Arena and Bastion. I'll have to check out the Runner 2 demo, what's the general opinion on that one? I started playing Runner 1 (via Bit Trip Saga on 3DS) and enjoy it.

The first Runner was my least favorite of the series. Bit.Trip Runner 2 is much more merciful(thanks to mid-level checkpoints and multiple difficulties), there's unlockables, and it's just generally fun. I was satisfied having purchased for $7.50; 2 dollars is crazy. If you're remotely interested, do it.
