This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I see Syberia; assuming that's a straight port of the old PC adventure game? Pretty cool.
Yeah, I guess that they'll be a port from the PC version. Maybe to prepare us for the 3rd installment of the saga. Never played them though, since I'm not a big fan of those kind of games.

Too bad, the first Syberia is one of the most atmospheric games I've ever played. It takes place in a fascinating world that's just to the left of ours, except in theirs, people developed robot-like automatons in like the early 20th century. Great storytelling and mystery too. I never played the sequel though.

I know that that genre uses to have great stories, it's just that I don't enjoy playing them. I find them tedious. I'd rather prefer watching someone playing it through youtube than play it myself.

Wait wait wait

Does Dark Souls not have online play yet or was this just a temporary problem? Was thinking about trying it from Redbox, bit I need me coop.
There is online, but at launch there were server problems, and last night too. I just couldn't enter the server. Everything is ok now. If you really liked the first one i advise you to get on it ASAP. Or wait a couple of days to see if the issues continues and then decide.

That's good to hear. I'll rent it next weekend for a day to do a quick play through then again at a later date when an achievement guide is available.

How do you do a quick play through of a Dark Souls game? Literally, I am seriously asking you this. I've spent something like 90 hours in Dark Souls 1 and probably barely scratched the surface. I've not long killed some crystal or frozen dragon thing after I was imprisoned. I know I'm deep into the game but I feel like I'm on like level 3 of a 30 level game - not sure how accurate that is or not. I expect if I played it like I wanted to I'll spent another 100 hours in it. And I'm not even grinding doing multiplayer, other than an 8 hour excursion where I buddied up with someone who then proceeded to give me tons of humanity and some amazing jacked up weapons that make me unbeatable (I demolished Ornstein and Smough on my first go) it's all been single player. I can totally understand renting a game like South Park but Dark Souls just seems like a game I'd spend more money on renting than buying.

Nice list of upcoming releases. I think I'll pick up Child of Light at launch and possibly the other war game that UbiArt or whatever the indie studio is called is working on. It's not often I do but that game looks kind of perfect to me. That's pending good reviews though.

And if that's a port of Syberia I'm in. I have it and the sequel on Xbox and PC but have yet to try them lol.

That war game from Ubi looks good, the trailer is amazing, but there is nothing about real gameplay yet.

How do you do a quick play through of a Dark Souls game?
By quick, I mean about 12 hours and just a story play through. Little to no side quests or optional areas (unless I accidentally do them). I found DS1 a little too easy once learning how the game works (attack, roll, attack, roll, repeat). I'm hoping with DS2 I'll be able to understand things faster because this won't be my first time playing a DS game. The game probably deserves more time, so I'll rent it again in a few months and give it a proper play through once an achievement guide is out.

Well, if you want to enjoy the game it's better if you buy it. But if you just want some playthrough and cheevos well, rent is the way to go.

This. Your about halfway. And yes, this game will suck thousands of hours of your life. Think about it, before you play it again.

It's worth $3.75. The latency was unnoticeable when I played with my friends last time. I'm trying to get all my friends to grab it for some shitty throwdown action. We do it with DOA and TT2 as well. Speaking of which, I hope TT2 goes that low for the next round of sales.

Thanks. Maybe I'll pick it up. I wanna get the TF season pass though.

Not sure. They did release DLC 1 and 2 as a big package, but then they removed it. http://xbldb.com/offers/006-fa8 So I'm not sure if they included the patch as a separate entity or not (it's not like they would remove a patch).

Guess we'll have to wait for a guinea pig.
Well, if any test subjects buy Sanctum 2 or if someone actually owns it, please let us know if the mechanics were updated. Originally resources were spawned near the core and you had to run over and pick them up, they weren't really shared; was an odd change from the first Sanctum. This got patched and changed quick on PC, but the update has been long overdue on XBLA due to long certification process.

I could buy now and keep hoping for the patch to launch, but I also need to convince 3 others to buy with me. Might be a hard sell without the patch.

Today, my Xbox froze, turned it on again and worked for about an hour. Then, I think there was a slight power surge in the house (turned off the amp but TV was fine), and the 360 flashed the dreaded 3 rings. An hour later, when I let everything cool off, it worked fine again for an hour before I turned it off. I really hope it's not dead

I once had a RROD in a quite new 360 but it was caused by the cable power not being properly attached to the console. I shitted on my pants of course. It might worth check it out. Even replace it if you have a spare one. No need to say i have suffered another 2 real RRODs.

Picked up Runner2 finally, god this game is addicting. I guess I should just stop because yeah  :p

I gave up on that game a few levels in because it was so poorly balanced against solo play that I didn't want to give it any more of my time. There was a level that seemed to be impossible to beat with the resources allotted that was at least improved with the PC version, but I haven't checked lately to see if they bothered to fix it on Xbox 360 since it didn't seem like it would happen in a reasonable time after launch.

I don't know exactly what you are referring to, but I could check tomorrow if you give me a little more info on what to look for.

I keep getting "Syberia" confused with "Cyberia" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberia_(video_game)

Totally different concepts even. (Cyberia was one of the first games I played)
The Game Informer Super Replay for Cyberia is a great watch for such a bad game.

Then, I think there was a slight power surge in the house (turned off the amp but TV was fine), and the 360 flashed the dreaded 3 rings. An hour later, when I let everything cool off, it worked fine again for an hour before I turned it off. I really hope it's not dead
I hope so too. If it makes you feel any betterI had my first Xbox 360 RROD like that. I turned it off for an hour and then turned it back on and it worked. I instantly put it up on craigslist and sold it and bought a slim one. Strangely enough I ran into the same guy I sold it to about a year later and he said it was working fine, but I didn't want to take any chances and ultimately I sold it high and bought low so the difference was like $10. If you have any worries just see if you can sell yours and buy another one for approximately the same, there's a lot of good deals on second hand Xbox "S" models that tend to be quieter, use less power, and don't have as much problems with RROD. It might be worth doing in the end for you if you hope for years of play out of the machine.

I was really keen to grab Sanctum 2 but I tend to enjoy single player campaign play and from the sounds of it it doesn't look like this would be my best bet for that. Though I'll keep an eye out to see what other people post over the coming days and might read a few more reviews. I'd heard nothing but good things up until now but it tended to be mostly references to the PC version.

See, my think with Dark Souls is that I never seem to be able to know what is or isn't optional. It's a rare RPG where there aren't any markers leading to quests. You're right about gameplay. If you can master riposting or blocking or even rolling then you can get through a lot of the game, though it's always throwing stuff your way that you don't expect
the first time I was eaten by a treasure chest was a horrible experience that I absolutely didn't anticipate and that royally messed me up and cost me thousands of souls

And if that's a port of Syberia I'm in. I have it and the sequel on Xbox and PC but have yet to try them lol.
Yeah, I missed out on Syberia, having never owned the original Xbox or a decent PC. Hopefully it will be a good port and will be decently priced. I have a lot of faith in Microids. I stupidly bought both Syberia and it's sequel on Xbox for a few bucks when I got back into gaming after buying a 360, not realizing that not all Xbox games are backwards compatible. The sequel is compatible but the original isn't. So I've been waiting for like 4 years to be able to play the original so I could get to the sequel. So yay! I'm hoping maybe this could be the start of other Microids games I've never played that game to the Xbox might get ported to XBLA as I'd love to play Still Life - but I'm assuming without a Still Life 3 happening that the chances of that are piss poor (and yes I realize that Still Life was a sequel to Post Mortem so that Still Life 2 was a sequel to a sequel, but you know what I mean).

The game itself is really good, but it felt like they completely ignored the idea of balancing for solo play when designing it. I can't remember if the original had a limit on towers or not, but I remember the sequel having something about it that was a bit of a departure from the original.

Stallion83 finally reached 1 million GS! Pretty amazing! His milestone achievement was "I like a Challenge" from Titanfall, pretty fitting if i do say so myself! /offtopic.

I also just had that like 2 years ago, I had a mini heart attack. I turned it off and on and it was working fine, but obviously seeing those 3 red lights made me fear the worse, even though AFAIK, models from 2008 onwards can not have the RROD anymore.

Good to know. I'll have a further think about it, maybe hold off until next week's deals go live and maybe grab it last minute.

On a side note I'm loving Civilization Revolution. Some of the controls are a bit of a pain in terms of trying to get the right unit. But it's turn-based so a few extra seconds isn't a big deal. It's a great version of Civ and anyone who has ever played Civ will feel at home. It's a game I'd have never ever thought to buy so I'm really happy to get it for free. It's the perfect palate cleanser after playing a few hours of Dishonored.

Wow, just wow. 1 million GS is crazy, he must have played almost every game in the market, I didn't even think such a "highscore" to be possible. Congrats to him.

Is there a record Guiness for that?

Yes, he has it for highest Gamerscore.

Picked up Giana Sisters and Foul Play, thought they were worth $5 each.

I wonder if such a rockstar Gs brings gamer groupies out of the woodwork. Then again does one even have time for addressing pangs of the libido whilst amassing such a score? I tend to wonder also if the occupy movement will turn their attention his way now that he is the 1%. He better start giving some of that score to the less fortunate lest he be accused of hording and contributing to GS inequality.

Issssss. SCV worth $3.75? I somewhat enjoyed SVIV but will I actually play it?
I picked up SCV - really disappointed in it. The last SC game I played though was 2 for the GameCube so the story mode (or lack thereof) is a major disappointment. I remember Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast and playing that tons, especially the quest mode. It was a great game. I am glad I only spent $4 on SCV or I would have felt ripped off, it lacks so much depth because of the lack of a single player experience (there is one there but it is so weak).

How awesome would it be, to have absolutely nothing else to do in your life, but play video games?

Seriously...1 Million GS? That's cool, but at the same time, the most pathetic thing I've ever heard.

but he has a gf and a cat! How can this be possible?

I once had a RROD in a quite new 360 but it was caused by the cable power not being properly attached to the console. I shitted on my pants of course. It might worth check it out. Even replace it if you have a spare one. No need to say i have suffered another 2 real RRODs.
I might check that out then since it's very much a possibility. I have like 6 things plugged into the multi-plug, which isn't even sitting straight right now.

I might do that then, don't really want to risk it again but a lot of people buy RRoD xboxes for some reason.

Mine should be from after 2009 I think.

I got the red rings on mine in 2009 after a hard freeze playing Grand Theft Auto IV, and it's never happened again since then.
I had one almost three years ago playing BF 3 (or might have been Bad Company 2). This time I got it playing BF 4. Seems like Battlefield might be cursed for me.

I'm at around 55,000 GS myself.

I really have nothing against the guy and I'm sure juggling a GF and nonstop video games isn't easy. Unless she loves the fact that he does nothing else.

I just don't see this as a big deal. He played video games. That's it.

I don't know exactly what you are referring to, but I could check tomorrow if you give me a little more info on what to look for.
This short article explains the major change to the resource system that I'm talking about. Just hoping the patch finally made it to XBLA Version. Definitely appreciate it if anyone gets a chance to look into it! O:)

I don't think so. The thing is that he ONLY played videogames, I don't think he had her gf (if he really has one seen a photo with her blonde gf) attended in any way. 1 million GS is too much to have a normal life around it. But he did what he wanted, and achieved something noone else has (yet), so it's good, I guess.

Me? In about 2 years and a half with a 360, I've got 39.000 GS, and I consider that I've been playing way too much.

edit: though GS is not a real indicator of how many hours someone plays to videogames. I know people with about under 17.000 GS that have played thousands of hours, but only to a few games. They almost only play Gears or Halos in online multiplayer.

He's got a blog and podcast that he hosts based on his gaming, and as far as I know that's his full-time job, so in that sense he's the same as the guys at Rooster Teeth or Jim Sterling or someone like that. It's not like he's some dude living in the basement sponging off his parents.

Well there's that and the fact that he has a couple of sponsorships.

Hmm, he's a lucky one then. It's great to make a living based on your hobby.

Idk, man. Not to hate on him, but I'm much less impressed now that you guys have told me he does this for a living. It's one thing to reach 1M in your spare time. When it's what you do, day to day, then it's inevitable he would have reached it. I can see why some people still think it's a big deal though.

Well, imo, it's amazing. I don't think I could be able to achieve such gamerscore, I would hate and get tired of videogames way before that time.

If it was "inevitable" then a lot more than one person would have done it...
