This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Lol at that Ryse sale.  If you're gonna announce there's going to be a sale on it like a month in advance you really need to do a lot better than that.  Especially when it was on sale from Gamefly last week for $20.  At least the season pass is on sale as well.  Multiplayers a lot of fun once you level up a little.

Condemned worth it for $5 bucks? I remember playing it shortly around launch. Five bucks still seems a bit high for a game back from 2006
I'm not sure how it aged, but $5 is the used price at Gamestop. If you never played it, might be worth the $5. I'm thinking about getting it because there was a glitch that allowed you to get unlimited gamerscore at launch (rumor, not sure if it actually happened). It'd be nice to own a little piece of history, even if it was just an urban legend. I think it only has 970 gamerscore though.

Deciding if digital Marvel is worth it. I've got $8.50 left from the ExpertZone thing, but I think I'd want a disc of it. Still no online co-op right?

how's anarchy reigns?
Goddamnit! There's a search feature blah blah blah.

Just kidding, and haven't played it myself but from what others have said it's a decent but nothing spectacular brawler/fighting game that is probably best suited for multiplayer. Some people really seem to like it and others not so much. Not sure if there's a demo but I'd give it a try if there is cause it may not be your bag.

Didn't see a demo for Anarchy Reigns or the Vikings game. What's the deal with Vikings?

The only Lego game I didn't like were the Harry Potter ones;  the wand commands didn't work for me. The rest are all good so you can't go wrong with those prices.

Really enjoyed Sonic Generations. Felt like the first 3-D Sonic game that actually got it right.

Turns out I have Vanquish on my PS3. Shows up as a 12 GB download. One of many games on my backlog. Another being Condemned. Played and beat the second game so I expect great things from the first.

So which lego game is "better" Lego Marvel or Lego batman 2?
Lego Marvel by far. Batman 2 was okay but pretty boring and I didnt like the character integration at all. It felt very restrictive in gameplay. Lego Marvel gives you a lot more freedom and has a better overall story. Heck it was so good I actually bought it again for PS4 and am having a blast playing through it. For $15 you cant go wrong here by picking up Marvel.

As for me, I think I might pick up Lego LOTR at $7. I had the disc version but traded it in a month or two ago as I was having trouble getting into the game. Does it pick up at all once the Two Towers portion of the story starts?

If it has been a month or 2 you might be good. I personally have to space out Lego games by a few months or they get boring fast. Think I accidently rented Lego The Hobbit too soon. The games are great and have been getting better (this one has a ton of side-quests), but they all still have a similar feel.

I remember having more fun near the end of Lego LOTR, but I think that's because I play a few thousand hours of LOTRO and was picky about what the first few regions looked like. The later ones aren't in LOTRO yet, so I didn't have anything to be picky about. There's a fun bonus mission at the end that I really enjoyed where you get to
play as big bad dudes and destroy a mini version of Middle Earth

The email I got said $86.55 expires July 16th... but checking the commerce.microsoft.com it shows me completely different dates... Now I don't know what to believe.

I have Vanquish in the backlog. I didn't know it was such a good game. After I beat this Crap Barker's Jericho, I might jump on that next.
Don't you have PS+? It was a free on there about this time last year.

I forget the exact comparison I used to make about it but think Bayonetta meets a third person cover shooter with a bit of Max Payne thrown in. It's a very Platinum game in tone and writing and again think like Bayonetta in that regard. Very underrated and quite fun.

Went to buy the Ryse season pass, was confused because the system said it was already installed. Looked at my transaction history, turns out I bought it a few months ago when it was $13.24. I haven't even owned the game in the meantime (I rented it and completed the story when it was new).

Ah, the struggles of being a digital game hoarder.

Is the Ryse pass worth it?  Any cheevos included?

(I got the game for $24 at BB about a month ago, so $50 for the digital version is just plain nuts)

Yea but I'm not going to play it since I already have the physical 360 copy I got from GS for $3.

Yea I pulled that and Condemned from BL, I tackle those after Jericho.

I think it is and haven't even played it. They do all have achievements though.

Seriously? Go throw that piece of poo in the garbage and start playing Condemned or Vanquish.
Hey! Only a 5-7 hour campaign. I'm watching tv right or I would have it beat already. It is garbage and I will throw it away when I'm done. I'd be lucky to get 25 cents for it.

I think Jericho is the most disappointing 360 game I've ever played. I had such high hopes.
Indeed. Undying was an amazing game that was way before it's time and Jericho was just poo. I remember it being filled with a lot of literal poo as well.

Bunch of morons at MS setting these "Deals with Gold" prices. How is Ryse $50 five months after it was initially offered for $40 in February?!? Utter fail. I guess Crytek really is on the verge of bankruptcy. This "discounted" price for Ryse helps them in no way. Um, you're not helping them with this asinine pricing offer, MS. No one's going to purchase the game digitally when it's $18 at Gamefly & $40 at retail B&Ms.

Vanquish and Alpha Protocol just got added to the backlog. After watching some gameplay footage on Youtube, I had to go for them. They both look like slept-on gems.

Jericho, lol.

Ok, I need someone with pretty well leveled up character to help me in Crackdown. I'm almost maxed out on everything but driving, which is at 2 stars. I need someone to throw me through the stupid stunt rings that seem impossible to actually drive a car through. I'll return the favor.

I'm planning on doing it tomorrow evening/night. I'm on EST time. PM me if your down. Thanks!

P.S. I know someone asked for help with the same thing yesterday, I'm going to go back and PM you right now.

As bad as it is, I have stuff 10x worse waiting to get played. Haha, make a game I'll play it.

Damn, that's a lot of games.

At it's peak my physical 360 backlog was about that big, but I sold my system and all my games a couple years ago. I bought a new system last Dec and I bought back about 20 to 30 physical games. The bulk of my backlog is now digital. In 6 months between GwG and sales, I've almost filled my 250 gig hd. I have 12 gigs left :(

The sad thing is I've only played about 10% of the games I own because I'm an OCD completionist. I'm STILL trying to 100% Oblivion, and now I got the Crackdown bug again. It's probably going to take me until the next generation to finish my 360/PS3 games.

I actually played Jericho and Condemned back to back a couple years ago during Halloween. Overall I probably did like Condemned a little better, but I really enjoyed Jericho as well. Yeah the levels were pretty linear, but I really liked the gory blood covered environments. I thought the gameplay was really fun too.

Also, for those interested, amazon has the lego movie videogame for $40, shipped free for a physical copy.

Also didn't see anyone post that sonic 2 is 2.49 and VF5FS is 3.74.

Can anyone comment on or recommend Mickey Mouse's Castle of Illusion at that price (7.49)? Last time it was on sale I had enough funds to either get MM or Ducktales and chose Ducktales.
Castle of Illusion was a pretty fun platformer, but you can easily beat it in an afternoon (took me a few hours). If you are going after the collectibles/ achievements, you might get another afternoon out of it.

I doubt I'll ever get through half of those. I would have gotten through most of my games if it wasn't for SR1 MP, GOW 2, and GOW 3. I've had some of those for like 8 years lol. I'm just happy I can pull something out that everyone is talking about and play it like Condemned and Vanquish.

Finished both Condemned and Viking recently and I recommend both for the price. I didn't regret either purchase.

Good sale on Legos. I have Batman, Batman 2,  LoTR and HP Yrs 5-7 on disc but I'm still considering buying them. I played both Batmans but not LoTR and HP.

I checked when my pts expire and it has $7.45 on 04/15 and $0.83 on 05/15. Strange, you'd think the amounts would be reversed.

Did you use the search function to find me? :p

I'm trying to see these repeat, disappointing sales as a good thing. It's helping me build up a tolerance to bad or mediocre games and save my money for ones I'll actually play. That and I already own mostly everything lol.

It seems like a decent deal on the Ryse season pass but those achievements look like a grind and I'm still waiting for a disc version of the game to go super cheap before buying it.

Ryse MP isn't really a grind. Once you gain access to Tier 3-4 gear, you can start gaining 40-60 levels per night easily. I went from rank 175 to 250 in a few hours a month ago. Play on the Dockyard map, max out your Focus capsule limit, select Mars as your god (or whoever it is that slows time down), rack up double executions and watch the points fly
