This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I'm picking up Injustice. I just want to play the story mode, so I really don't need the Ultimate edition or even the season pass.

Have any of you gotten any points from this Binge program on Xbox Live Rewards? I have bought well over $60 dollars worth of games but have received no points at all.
Have you bought or rented any tv shows or movies? To qualify for those rewards in a designated two week period you need to spend $60 total on a combination of game and video content.

I have a question for any ancient gamers here who had Military Madness on the Turbografx.  Is the Nectaris game on xbox live worth it?

Thanks in advance guys.

"Ancient" gamer here. I bought Military Madness at Toys R Us when it was released for the original hardware. There wasn't anything like it on the consoles that I was aware of at the time. I played the crap out of it and loved it.

I bought Nectaris when it was released on XBLA because of my fond memories of the game, but... er... it's not that great. They didn't do much to build on top of the original gameplay and it just feels dated and limiting. If you have access to some Sony platforms, I think another spin around Final Fantasy Tactics, Disgaea, or something like Stella Deus would be more worthwhile. Nintendo fan? Grab a Fire Emblem game. Have a PC? You are simply spoiled for choice in the turn-based strategy genre. There are tons of great games available for cheap.

On the 360, I think you'd be better off playing something like Panzer General or XCOM Enemy Unknown. Hell I'd rather play one of the Agarest War games on the 360 than Nectaris again. It's just too bland for me.

Yeah.. about that i don't just rush into it. I kind of enjoy the whole content and i don't think i will finish that. Yeah i know, i have some issues.
I meant take a break for the beta since it'll end after 5 days, then you can resume the DLC. Unless you like to play it one shot then....... twiddle your thumbs until you decide.

If you're thinking about it, for godsakes do not buy Mortal Kombat vs. DCU; it is so terrible and absolutely not worth $10. Just skip straight to Injustice (or MKX if you haven't played that).

Was considering Frontlines Fuel of war since I remember playing it a long time ago and having a blast, but I imagine the online is pretty much dead. And not to mention the fact the dedicated servers are offline so it only allows for player hosted and that only lets you play with a max of 16 players, which would be really stupid to play because I remember the maps being huge for the 50 player count.

So the site has updated to take Garden Warfare off of the list, and nothing replaced it. So, either they're in the process of putting it up, or we're ACTUALLY not getting a sale this week, which honestly wouldn't surprise me, given the loads of crap they have been offering.

Even at $3.99, I don't think I can bring myself to buy DAH: Path of the Furon. It just looks bland to me. I've got my eye on Abyss Odyseey and was hoping there were others that could give their thoughts on the game.

As for Xbox one, I wish they would just put Loco Cycle on sale for $5 (or less) O:)
Abyss is really fun, I've played it quite a bit in co-op (Beat it twice, tried all the characters for a while) and I really enjoy it. It does have a few problems with the camera and connectivity while in coop, but I would guess those are not in single player (haven't played it). It has a pretty deep combat system and then you get a few skills that you can choose to upgrade in 3 different ways (damage, mana, defense) for each character. It doesn't have a super deep loot system but you lose your stuff when you die and have to start at the beginning of the dungeon anyways so it works well for what the game is. It also has a neat system where you can earn/buy/capture the bad guys and play as them during that run and there are quite a few of them that you can play as.

I can't comment much on if the single player has any different functions or not but from what I've done I feel it's definitely worth the sale price it's at.
MoCiWe commented on the online, let me talk about the single player (which, again, is pretty much the same as co-op obviously except it's one player). It's a very fun rogue-like, where you keep on blasting through randomly generated dungeons, going deeper and deeper and choosing your own paths. You have 3 customizeable classes (only 1 unlocked from the get go), and the world is full of secrets, mysteries, unexpected events and just plain weird sh*t. Dream sections, gambling with death, fighting against a dark version of yourself, it's all in there, and indeed it's a dream-come-true storyline so they sure have the freedom to make something amazing.

As MoCiWe pointed out, one of the most amazing features is how you can capture your enemies and then transform into them as you please: given the impressive variety of enemies (all with multiple attacks and skills), this greatly increases lenght and variety. You can even practice in a practice mode for all the enemies you ever captured. There's a solid loot system, although you lose it when you die: what you don't lose is money and XP, so if you're having troubles just go on, you'll be strong enough eventually.

I've beat the boss 3 times already, getting to him isn't that difficult, albeit given it's randomly generated it can sometimes be easy, other times a pain in the arse. As long as you understand the game's mechanics (especially capturing monsters, since having one is essentially like having a 2nd life), you should be fine. The fighting system is pretty deep but not difficult. It can seem somewhat challenging at first but it really isn't impossible, on the contrary. Completing the game, however, goes waaay beyond the final boss: 3 characters to unlock, level up and customize; pages of a diary to find; all the co-op action; multiple random encounters and special bosses/mini-bosses to beat; even a skilled player will likely take at least 20-30 hours (kinda calculating here, I played around 7 so far) to 100% it with the achievements.

Glitches. Yeah, there's a couple, but single player is pretty good. Occasional framerate drops, sometimes enemies go on a suicide mission out of the boundaries (but that's good for you, really), and probably the most annoying thing: certain items will occasionally appear inside the terrain becoming unreachable. It can only happen with a certain kind of item and it's pretty rare, but it can get a bit annoying. Nothing majorly gamebreaking though.

Keep in mind the game is on sale for the first week alone, so around tomorrow it goes back up to 15$. There's a trial up which gives a solid impression of the start of the game, but you won't see some of the craziest things. Given how you'll be fighting and exploring for 90% of the game, if you're enjoying those aspects enough just buy it, the world is so full of surprises and original ideas. If you're an achievement hunter, you're also in luck: you will have to reach around level 25 with each classes (a few runs will do that though); capture a couple monsters, one being a level 40 (should be able to do so with a character around said level, one of them is enough); meet and beat all mini-bosses and the final boss (quite feasible even on low levels if you captured good monsters, a breeze if you're high level); and that's pretty much it, basically. 20-30 hours will likely earn you a full completion (except maybe levelling up all characters to the max - not sure how much that could take), and a feasible 400G.

Does the site show dlc for X1 games?

i think the xbox 1 deal of the weak is cod ghosts hardened edition i hope not cause season pass went on sale a week or 2 weeks ago this game sucks so bad they want to put it down peoples throats

Hey, i think my Painkiller game is glitch - ing out, i'm totally stuck in the theater stage, the compass in the game is not showing me where to go next. I'm just wandering the whole stage map with nothing to do. Has this happen to anyone else on here? Should i re-download the game over?

You guys have sold me. I'm getting Abyss Odyssey. I always liked the art style of Zeno Clash and since these are the same guys, I was on the fence. Thanks for the awesome input. I haven't bought anything in a while so getting this for $5 off is a deal.

Yeah the frame rate does drop every once in a while, but it seemed like the other person I was playing with (I was host) was having more issues with that then me, and more glitchiness in general, which is also something to keep in mind. We've had the items that you can grab to get the monsters after beating the ? room get stuck inside the floor and I had a sword get stuck floating in the air that I couldn't grab, but both of those only happened once. So it wasn't major and while it is a bummer, it definitely is not gamebreaking, so it's still worth picking up with the problems it has, plus they can always patch this stuff!

Also, I forgot about posting this before, it shows some of the stuff with the games mechanics and has a picture of a 360 controller to go along with it.

Hey, i think my Painkiller game is glitch - ing out, i'm totally stuck in the theater stage, the compass in the game is not showing me where to go next. I'm just wandering the whole stage map with nothing to do. Has this happen to anyone else on here? Should i re-download the game over?
That means there is an enemy spawn that you have to activate by walking near it. Try breaking the big boxes if you haven't already. Send me a FR if you want to play co-op sometime.

The only dlc I need for Painkiller now is Zombie Bunker. I hope that goes on sale.

man, why is Destroy all human path of furon so tempting lol. I have such fond memories of the first one on original xbox, but I heard this one is terrible. Path of Furon is also like 30 dollars still at gamestop

Well, so much for holding on to that Gamestop Treasure Hunt credit.   I'll be spending my loot tonight, once I figure out what I can delete from my nearly full 320GB drive.

yeah I have the same issue, it's pretty tempting to get but I haven't heard great things about this one. The others ones were great, wonder if this one isn't as good cause it's not from the same team that made the original 2.

On the deals with gold xbox page ( http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Promotion/deals-with-Gold ) Dark Souls II is listed without any discount. Wonder if it'll drop at some point today. Still no Major Nelson post yet either.
On the 360 dashboard (in sales and specials section), if you click on the big picture of Dark Souls 2, it takes you to the GWG page. Probably doesn't mean it will be GWG, but that would be nice.

Thanks guys wasnt to sure always worth a try next time i know where to look for ;)

And maybe this is why we might not have a sale this week ?

Starting in August with the release of Madden NFL 15, new blockbuster hits will launch for Xbox One at an incredible pace throughout the fall, as we head into the holiday season. Gamers love the holidays and we are lining up incredible deals and special promotions to celebrate. The fun is just getting started and we can’t wait to share more exciting news soon.

I thoroughly enjoyed Destroy All Humans: Path of the Furon.  It plays just like the Xbox games.  I think the major criticism was that it was too similar to those games and didn't really do anything groundbreaking with the 360 hardware.  If you liked the style  and game play of the original games, I don't see any reason why you would not like this one.  1000g is fairly easy too -- from what I can remember.

Wasnt that one always that price ?

I'm picking up Injustice. I just want to play the story mode, so I really don't need the Ultimate edition or even the season pass.

Have you bought or rented any tv shows or movies? To qualify for those rewards in a designated two week period you need to spend $60 total on a combination of game and video content.
No... I was afraid of that.. It didn't seem entirely clear.
