This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Guess I'll be doing this soon as well, 320gb is not enough.

Thanks for the quick reviews! Made it easy to not purchase F:FOW.

At least though MS came out of no where with this type of sale. Let's just hope they keep one upping it every week.

Destiny finally finished.

If you like Serious Sam and/or Doom, at least check out the demo for Painkiller H&D.
I loved Doom back on the day, enough to beat it and Doom 2 on Nightmare, but this isn't quite grabbing me. I did the tutorial and came into a cemetery, and it all looks like arena shooting. Does every level consist of rooms that close off, kill everything, open to the next progression? If they always just spawn in every time it seems to take some of the fun out of it. I don't know why I feel that way, but this gameplay all the way through seems a little weak.

I personally half-missed out on the Painkiller hype ever since its release. It's just not as fast or fun as Serious Sam or Doom. It's got bonkers weapons and a great atmosphere, but it's a bit slow and literally offers no variety, boss fights aside. I was extremely disappointed by this new game, as well, it's simply a graphical update basically. I only played it shortly but everything I've seen was a slightly upgraded Painkiller 1, which is like what, 10 years old now? It's not a brilliant game imho, albeit it used to have a solid multiplayer community on the PC. The Serious Sam games offer much more variety and fun, if you want mindless killing, all of those games went on sale for 2.50-5 dollars already and are miles better (imho obviously)

Destiny beta valid globally
360: 243X3-J2KMP-KQ3GX-GQXG3-26VTZ
XB1: HX9TG-JR7F7-TRF74-D9VVG-K74PZ

No begging. Please post if you got it. I may share more. Enjoy!

Missed out xbox one code probably typed it in wrong first, thank you for the code offer though Cleaner7 sure someone will enjoy checking it out!

So, you used a WD5000LPVX for this, correct? I'm seriously considering picking one up, along with a set of torx screwdrivers, from Amazon for less than $60 and trying this out. I would finally be able to fit all of my digital content on my console at the same time, along with several installed discs.

I keep trying to play this "Destiny" beta, but it's not even on my 360. I guess it's because I never got a code to download it. I did a quick google search and it seems to be a known issue. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.

Yeah its really repetitive and it feels like most of the enemies are reskinned versions of older enemies. The fun comes from the its fast pace, wide variety of weapons, wide variety of enemy skins, and wide variety of level locations. I played through one of the dlc levels tonight and the shotgun and the sound enemies make when dying sound exactly like Doom. I was going to see if the rest of the game sounded like that (I didn't use shotgun much) or if it was a reference to Doom, but then Destiny finished downloading so I wasn't able to check.

Cemetery is probably the worse level in the game by size. There's only 1 kind of big area to fight in right outside the chapel. Later levels are a lot more open (some too open).

Co-op also helps. Maybe Serious Sam and Doom are bad examples. More like Serious Sam and Doom if you didn't have to spend 20 minutes trying to find a key card.

Working is hard doe.
Hit dat corner, boy! Betta make dem monies for Silky! I only hit you cuz I love you!

I have all of those. I guess it's time to start killing Pterodactyls with machine guns tied to their dicks...

Surge was the shit. We used to drink it like it was alcohol. I brought like 6 two liters of it to camp one summer :)
I remember those middle school days. Our cafeteria served these individual pepperoni pizzas from Godfather's. And everyone would wash said pizza down with either a Surge or Fruitopia.

Since you were nice check your PMs. Code inbound!
Wow - I wish I was a nice guy. I did however stupidly buy DOH: Path of the Furon thinking I was going to posthumously celebrate a Pandemic Studios title only to then realize that it is in fact a shite game from Sandblast Games (yes fuck me I'm stupid). That makes me a shmuck . . . do shmucks get anything?

So.... how long is the destiny beta gonna be active?
5 days I think.

I just played a couple hours on the X360 beta. Obviously next-gen will likely look much better, but boy, a beta on 360 with these graphics? Damn. Framerate is also pretty damn good, except in the main hub a couple times, but there's dozens of players there so I can live with that. What a fine game, easily one of the best shooters in years - certainly the most ambitious one.

Did you test loading speed? I have a 120 GB right now (old fat 360) but may upgrade to 320/500 if it also makes the games load faster.

It definitely makes it a little faster, but may be hard to notice depending on the game. I'd say somewhere in the ballpark of 10-25% faster than reading it from the disc.

Same. Played it on the 360 and, like Titanfall, while the visuals are obviously not as what we've seen in videos, it plays darn well. Still no good reason to go next gen yet for me...

If anybody has a extra xone code I would greatly appreciate it. I would show my appreciation by "donating" a $5 Microsoft credit code.

Edit: thanks for the codes! I had 3 CAG send codes within 5 minutes! Love ya CAG

Plus, again, I don't buy online.
Aren't the other Amish kids going to beat the hell out of you if they find out you're on here...?

[Alright, with that being said, I'm done this time, people. Please don't bring out the lynchmob again like when I bitch about the Search function's neglect.]

I'm going to assume they ship a card rather than email you the code...is that right?
Nope, email delivery only. It arrives in a couple hours, for most. As I posted earlier, if you have a TargetRED card, you can pickup 2 for $40.xx (there's a limit of three).

for those who are disappointed with xbox one sales...it is my destiny to help...

I have two codes to give away:

GQTCC-T2MFG-32VWC-2V363-GGHH?

96J43-HC46C-FFWQF-D6WC7-72HR?

? is last letter of the abc's.

I'm going to do it once I find a cheap HDD, 120 GB are not enough anymore and my old console is getting slower and slower, thank you :p

Gawrsh, that actually worked. Scratch that last code off, I just redeemed it. Thanks!

(Wait, this was for the Xbox ONE? D'oh!)

I might have missed out, how do we do this?
The best do-it-yourself info is here:

http://digiex.net/guides-reviews/console-guides/xbox-360-guides/3152-hack-250gb-320gb-500gb-sata-harddrive-work-xbox-360-xbox-360-slim.html

Or you can purchase a premade hard drive from Amazon (3rd party sellers) or Ebay, but it probably won't have the compatibility partition if you care about original Xbox games. You could add it back yourself though.

So, you used a WD5000LPVX for this, correct? I'm seriously considering picking one up, along with a set of torx screwdrivers, from Amazon for less than $60 and trying this out. I would finally be able to fit all of my digital content on my console at the same time, along with several installed discs.
Yes, I used a WD5000LPVX. If you have an Xbox fat drive, you need Torx T6 and T10 screwdrivers to open it. I guess the slim cases are more obnoxious and don't use screws. If you have a slim you might want to buy a new shell.

Did you test loading speed? I have a 120 GB right now (old fat 360) but may upgrade to 320/500 if it also makes the games load faster.
No, I didn't do any speed tests. I never had any issues with the speed of the old drive.

NOTICE: It's worth noting again that while I'm not aware of anyone ever being banned for a modded drive, I don't control Microsoft. Proceed at your own risk.

Good more people are playing Destiny. That being said here are my thoughts (not really spoilers but I'll put a box in there anyway):

You can tell the guys behind Halo made this: Shielded enemies, colonization of planets. I thought the scope works much better than a D-Pad click. I also like how there are energy bars (even for shields). I'm not a fan of some of the respawn points. Sometimes they are way too far back so you're running past all of these environments you already cleared. The navigation menus feel like something you'd control via Kinect or Playstation Move.

But my favorite part of this: NO ENEMIES THAT SOUND LIKE EWOKS! Those little guys felt so out of place in the Halo games. Then again I'm at Level 2 so maybe they show up later.   But yeah, it's pretty great.

XBLDB added another DLC pack for Painkiller called "Operation Zombie Bunker" for $3.49.  Which of these non multiplayer DLC packs are worth getting?

Thoughts on Risen 2?   I never played Risen 1 and there's no demo for it.
