Oh ya, I forgot about that. Looks like there were "Extreme Shopping Sales" the week of 3/31 and 9/30. (Didn't see anything for 6/30). Alas, doesn't look like we'll get anything like that either. But these 2 week long sales have been pretty good.
 
The problem with the sale for me is that each day's offers were all franchise-based, so if I'm not interested in that day's choice or already have that content, I've got nothing to consider. It would've been nice to have a few unrelated games on sale each day for those that don't want the main items that are on sale.
 
There's an EA sale starting on 1/3? You guys know what that means, right? Risk Factions is going to be on sale again!

Debating whether or not I should pick up the LA Noire pass. I just re-bought the game and I have yet to finish the game. Opinions? Are the cases fun?

Don't get too excited. According to Major Nelson:

"Up to 50% off" is a perfectly adequate sale, IMO, but nothing special.

I thought for sure they'd be putting out the CoD:BlOps packs at 33% off ... I "might've" bitten at that price, but now it's fairly obvious that Activision can be as clueless as MS on how to generate DLC profit.
 
Somehow I forgot to do the rewards survey for December. A shame, that. But hell... keeping up with all these deals (XBL and beyond) is reward enough that I can't cry over a lost quarter.

Just so everyone knows, here's how content gets licensed by Xbox Live (or others):

Dual-license content, with 1 license remaining with the purchasing/earning gamertag + 1 license for the 1st machine it's downloaded to:
  • XBLA games downloaded from XBL Marketplace
  • DLC downloaded from XBL Marketplace
  • Games on Demand
  • Gamerpics & Themes

Single-license:
  • Avatar clothes & props ... the license is locked to the active gamertag.
  • XBLA games located on physical media ... the license is locked to that media device (you CAN still copy the content, but it reverts to "trial mode" on any other device).
  • DLC downloaded in-game from a specific publisher ... any game-specific content redeemable with a non-5x5 code will be locked to that publisher's own account (for example, weapons/cars you get in EA games via Dr. Pepper codes, or uPlay points enabling content in Ubisoft games).

And dual-license content can have the machine account reset to a new device every 4 months by going to http://www.xbox.com/drm .

also if crysis does go on sale it would probably be too high still for australia anyway.

It's MS, they pretty much never have any good deals and their max discount is usually 50% off.

I'm sure it's been said to death but I'm still in shock over the Call of Duty sales being essentially the biggest/top sale in the countdown, so sorry. Yes, lets put stuff on sale for old games which have all had multiple sequels out...great idea.
 
Assuming we're entitled to have opinions still, I also am upset the BlOps map packs haven't been discounted yet. I would have taken 33% off of them, too.
Whatever, I guess I'll just keep waiting to buy them, since I'm not (over)paying 1200 points for them.

If anyone is interested in trading an unused 1600 MSP code from a retail card I am prepared to give you 2000 MSP codes for it. I have 20 X 100 point codes I got from Bing rewards that I am willing to part ways with. So if you're interested in 400 extra points for your trouble send me a PM.

Well, both games are still firmly in the top 10 in most played games on XBL so I can see why it isn't... but their normal price should be this sale price and the sale price should have been even better.

Now., if you go back to CoD2... Yeah, their map packs should be free... yet aren't.
 
this is stupid that they havent discounted the Blops DLC . glad im not the only one that was majorly disappointed
 
So last night when I got on Xbox there was an ad on the main part of the dash that said Crysis On Sale Now with a picture of it but when I clicked it it was the same $20 it's always been.

I was a little confused but then I remembered the EA sale is coming up. I hope that means it's going to be on sale and they just put the ad up early by mistake.

Did anyone else see it?

I think it was telling you "On Sale Now" meaning it is currently available for purchase, not that it was discounted.

I vaguely remember the countdown page on the xml homepage having a spot for a one day sale on 1/1 and 1/2. Is that not the case? Anyone know of any sales on games today or are we all just eagerly anticipating a good sale from EA?
 
Welp, the GOW Lancers and Hammerbursts are gone. Looks like Microsoft followed through on it after all. Anyone notice any other stuff get delisted?

Hey if they aren't free then a reduced price is definitely needed. Never really play COD/MW until recently, really want the Older DLC but no way in Hell I'm paying those prices.

I'm not sure what you mean by xml homepage, but there aren't any sales for 1/1 and 1/2. I know the OP showed that there would be for a while, but he has since corrected that.

lol, I would have made the trade but I just cashed in my points card before reading this post, doh! I had to pay tax on the card when I bought it at Gamestop (I don't remember there being sale tax on these things but I usually order online) so that extra 400 would have more than made up for the tax. After my account got hacked MS is being difficult in reimbursing my points.

20 100 point codes, that definitely is some extra work. :)

Sorry...wrote that from my iPhone. I meant to say XBL...as in the home screen when you sign onto your xbox. I thought I remember seeing supposed space for those 2 days but guess I was wrong.
