Bangai O DS was awful. Not a fan of the XBLA demo.

Hard Corps Uprising is easily my favorite Contra game by a wide margin. It's fast and tight as hell. You just have to get comfortable with the dash toggle and bullet dodge moves which aren't explained at all. That said, the worst Metal Slug is still superior to the best Contra. Plus, the uprising mode is a good idea with weird execution. It starts out far harder than the arcade version and gives you full control over how hard you want to make it but tge more you unlock, the more the game becomes a joke unless you nerf yourself. It would've been nice if you could get Uprising progress grinding arcade mode.

Plus that surfboard highway level is just boring on replay but that seems to be a common Contra thing.

In my defense, I've not played Hard Corps 1.

Radiant Silvergun demo didn't impress and I can't make myself buy Guwange. Still, not a bad sale.

Bloody Good Time is a pseudo sequel to The Ship and it just doesn't work.
Got everything, but Hard Corps: Uprising (already own it). Probably going to get Sonic CD tomorrow as well if 400 points.
Apparently it is, which makes it an insta-buy for me as well
Bloody Good Time is a pseudo sequel to The Ship and it just doesn't work.
which is really too bad because The Ship was a really good game that just never caught on

Assassin's Creed multiplayer is similar to it at least
Why am I ever so slightly upset I didn't buy Bloody Good Time? I really shouldn't be...
Because it was only $2.50 (even less if you get points cards on the cheap) and it's good stupid fun for $2.50. :) (to me, anyway)

My biggest regret ever was passing on Castlevania: SOTN. I bought like 7 games the time it went on sale, so I passed on it cuz of "the graphics" and had to wait over a year before it went on sale again, by that time I was DYING for it.

Not really relevant, but thought I'd share.
I've been having fun with otomedious excellent lately. Is Radiant Silvergun a similar kind of shump?
Radiant silvergun is a vertical shmup. Otomedius is side-scrolling. The premise is the same, navigate a plane/dodge bullets/beat end boss/Get high score. If you want similar to Otomedius, Trouble Witches Neo and Deathsmiles would be a closer match.

I'd say Radiant Silvergun is closer to Eschatos.

Shoot em' Ups aren't my thing so pass for me, but glad everyone's enjoying a good sale. I will say I'm all over Rock of the Ages. The demo was just plain FUN and I've been waiting for it to go on sale.

I already have half-off on Hard Corps Uprising on PS3, and it's pretty good, it not difficult.

Twice as difficult for Radiant Silvergun, so I'm on the fence on that.

Still want a Bastion deal, though.

And 400 for Sonic CD? Nice.
Joy indeed.

And Rock of Ages is next week! Sweet!
Sweet deal! In Rock of Ages too! And that's not even part of the specials starting next week. Starting to get excited.

400 points for Sonic CD might just make it an insta-buy for me. Had no intention of getting it before, but it's hard to argue with that price.

Sorry to have to ask a stupid noob question... but how do I find Sonic CD? I searched for it on my computer (searching for things on xbox is too freaking hard for me) and found the game page but I don't see any game to buy, just a "Announcement Trailer" video...

BTW, I freaking hate the new Xbox interface... more commercial than what I fucken want to find... on the previous interface, I can quickly find a list of "full games" I have, but now that button is gone... fucking assholes...

I don't think it's out yet

That's the right page, but it's not being released until tomorrow. Check back there in the morning.

Don't worry, I'm excited about it too.

for Shmups this is a fantastic sale.. I am also pleased that they put an update to Guwange to allow for 'tate' mode (Vertical). in for All. I didnt realize how neat Hardcorp Uprising was.
Excitement for Rock of Ages? I've seen everything
Dude. Do you enjoy anything? Are you able to appreciate any game at all? I sometimes wonder why you frequent this place; even as an overwhelmingly negative chum drowning in my own seemingly inescapable depression, I find your posts distressingly negative. This isn't an attack, this is me almost being... worried.

Rock of Ages isn't generic enough for him. Too "indie".
Rock of Ages isn't generic enough for him. Too "indie".
I don't think that's entirely fair...the game can seem a little bland, particular the story mode which is tedious and repetitive (and the AI really not much fun to play against). The Terry Gilliam-inspired animation is cute at least, but gets tiresome when you realize you can't skip the first 10 seconds when replaying a level.

Playing against human players is more fun, but it's still not a game I'd get excited about, more just a fun diversion. Worth 400 MSP, but it's not going to make anyone's Top 10 XBLA Games list.

For anyone who does plan to get it though, I recommend familiarizing yourself with the tracks via Time Trials first, so that you won't be trying to figure out each track *while* trying to attack and defend against the AI player (and thus not have to rewatch the opening scene so many times...).

It would make my top 10 list. But I'm the type of guy who thinks Braid and Limbo are pretentious garbage.

Seriously, His posts really irritate me. I'm not sure why he feels the need to say something negative about absolutly everything people discuss on these fourms, but I wish he'd stop.

Cynicism can be wearying, alright.

Arkadian Warriors was not bad for the time it was released, but now there are far better options for dungeon crawlers. Just thinking about my girl playing Boogie bunnies is giving me a headache right now.

Rock of Ages is the DotW for 12/20.

read op, rock of ages goes on sale until next tuesday.

Thanks Red Joey, I'm a bit peeved though, just bought Radiant Silvergun for full price a few weeks ago...:bomb:

It was worth it, but I'm a full blood CAG, it hurts to know I coulda saved a few bucks.

Teaches me, I guess (I assume it's never been on sale prior to this?) probably going to pick up Bangai-O (love the DC version) and maybe Guwange, not as familiar with it as I should be.
It's showing up on the Dashboard with the rest of the December drops.

Arkadian Warrior
Boogie Bunnies
Texas Hold em
Zombie Wrangler
Interpol

All 400 points.
Hmm, tried to purchase one...but all revert back to the 800 pts. upon trying to purchase.
Maybe later in the day...
