I wonder if we'll even get a new DOTW since the sale that includes Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet will last until January 2nd
Yeah, but the deal of the week expiring today (from last week) is Rock of Ages.

I'm actually surprised MS hasn't given out more free Kinect Fun Labs apps during this sale. I figured for sure I'd be able to get Sparkler or Musical Feet for free before New Years...
Anybody have any idea on what the next deal of the week is gonna be?
Ask the Germans.

If this week's DoTW is DLC, I'm writing an angry letter translated into German to MS.

I've been debating it all week, but I'm gonna pass on Rock of Ages. After playing through the demo, it really seems like the later levels are going to just be frustrating and not fun. Plus, I'm guessing this is going to get price drop within a year anyway.

I sure hope they add more of the Reach avatar stuff. Seems odd to only have the one armor set discounted. Jorge is my favorite character and I'd be tempted to buy his armor for 200.
lol really? 29.99$ for a game thats like 15 month old??
Could be worse, could be $40 to $50 for a launch title, (see Zelda or Mario). Halo is extremely popular. If people are still willing to pay $30 for it, they'll keep charging that.

Also, the On Demand version isn't the cheapest way to buy a game, anyhow. I've seen Reach dip to $14.99 during the holiday sales. Some here have probably seen it go for even less than that.
Question: Does Halo Anniversary include all of the Halo Reach DLC? Kinda like what Halo ODST did for Halo 3?
Nope. It just has the anniversary dlc.

Actually, it CAN be the cheapest. People are selling their unwanted Halo Reach codes on eBay that they got from the holiday bundles. Got mine for 15 and sold my retail copy for 20.

I think he is talking about the Games on Demand version which is $30, the codes can be found cheap on ebay and such.

It's also a great way to have Reach. You can keep your copy of Skyrim/Saints Row/Deus Ex/whatever and fire up Reach for some multiplayer gaming without swapping discs.

I went back and forth between XBLA games, a GoD multiplayer game, and a 40+ hour single player disc game and didn't touch a disc for a month. It was nice. Maybe I'm just lazy.

Weirrrd. Earlier this year, I went to play the Defiant Maps and realized I didn't own them despite remembering distinctly that I purchased them. Then since they're on sale right now, I go and buy them. There is no download, but rather it's like I'm unlocking them.
I'm not seeing the Halo Reach packs on sale yet...
Defiant Map pack is 400 points right now so unless I mess the memo its on sale now... Though still unofficially.

Though I bought Noble when it was on sale and still haven't touched it I'll likely pick defiant up too... Haven't seen much on the sales that's been interesting and its always fun to have more achievements to strive for in MP since I'm lucky to go even anymore. (or I was when I stopped playing back then.)

Speaking of avatar gear... it will be interesting to see if Epic/MS blows out all those virtual lancers they have sitting on their hard drives before that new policy takes affect... (Starting Jan 1 no gun like avatar gear.)

Is there any way to look up past sales? I just beat DeathSpank and I'm dying to play both sequels but 2400 points is a bit much. I only paid $5 for the DS code so even if I got one of the sequels on sale I'd pay full for the second.
I'm just curious if they've been on sale and for how much.

All the DeathSpanks have been 600 points in past sales. The Baconing was recently on sale (a few weeks ago IIRC).

EDIT: Chrono beat me to your answer. Lots of CAGs F5'n means we all must be waiting (hoping) for a DotW to be announced ^_^

Now if only reddjoey put that in the third post under a spoiler, but there's NO WAY he'd do that! ;)

Exactly. My 3 most played games are RB3, MW3 and Halo Reach. With MW3 being the only disc, I hardly ever hit eject.

With reddjoey bringing back to our attention the holiday deals from years past, I can now comfortably say that this year's deals aren't that bad in comparison; they're about on par with last year and far beyond what we received the year prior. I do wish they would've dabbled in a bit more XBLA activity though.
Download history?
Yeah, back when I was missing the maps when I thought I had already bought them, I checked and it was clear. No history of me buying the maps.
Soo... I'm not entirely sure what happened.

A part of me wishes they'd dabble more in the XBLA, but in all honesty I wish they'd do more DLC for different games because I got a goddamn backlog and I want to play the full game and the DLC all at once because it's so hard to go back to a game once I've beaten the main story.

Yeah same thing for me too, hard to go back.. after seeing RDR will have a sale on DLC, I decided to start it today, my first playthrough about 3 hours in, a lot of fun, its like fallout 3 wrapped up in the old west.
We interrupt this Deal of the Week in order to bring you…a football game.
If this DOTW marks the astonishing return of Jim Brown, than all is forgiven for these lousy holiday sales.

Anyways, off to bed, and hoping to wake up to Toy Soldiers:CW half off. :)
At least the Halo Reach stuff is coming up. There is one map pack I never bought, so I'll snag that for sure. But otherwise, this Christmas sale has been relatively boring for me (not feeling entitled, just not interested in most of anything put up for sale ;) )
It's sad that you had to specify that.

Sad that I'm actually thinking of buying the energy sword... Batman outfit and a energy sword, this is a great idea! I should go to bed now...
DOTW: Full House Poker and Family Game Night + DLC.
Meh, lame.

Kind of makes sense though because a lot of people who just got Xbox 360 for Xmas will probably buy these to play with family while on vacation.
DOTW: Full House Poker and Family Game Night + DLC.
Yeah, seems xbldb.com is picking those up. What's odd is the Full House Poker game is 480 msp, not 400.....the family game night DLCs are 50% off, 400 msp each. And they're the ones not on the retail disc-Jenga, Pictureka and Connect 4x4.

These have all been discounted to 400 before and I can wait till they go lower. Not worth 400 each to me. Deserving of maybe 200 in order for me to bite

EDIT: just turned on my 360 and FHP is indeed 480 msp. And all the FGN "games/dlc" are 400 msp each, not just the three I mentioned above.

There will be no waking up to half-price TS: CW.

Wasn't Full House on sale recently?

Fortunately, we still have to look forward to MN's post about what will be on sale next week!
DOTW: Full House Poker and Family Game Night + DLC.

Pretty sure Full House Poker was part of the deals last month...

Pretty sure Full House Poker was part of the deals last month...
actually it was part of the black friday sale

I forgot the 1600 point card I bought from overstock with the eversave deal, I had intended to bring it back to my family's house in case there was more to buy before I went back to my own home than I had points for...but I haven't bought anything since coming back here. I don't think it's been a bad set of deals, even if there hasn't been anything I've bought. Certainly better than a bunch of Zune SD rentals.
DOTW: Full House Poker and Family Game Night + DLC.
So this is the deal of the week we're carrying into the new year, quite inauspicious. I was almost regretting passing up on Full House Poker when it was a Black Friday offer when I realized I wasn't going to spend much on the countdown sales, but tacking on another 80MSP just to affirm Full House Poker's Black Friday deal price seems kind of wrong to me for DotW. That defiant pricing will make it easier for me to pass again, but with no regrets this time.

I think I too will have to add this is not a post due to a sense of entitlement, just saying I think I performed an un-CAG act by purchasing a full year of Gold (an old $30 card, which I do not see as "paid for itself" yet). I can wait for next week.

Buying Gold is un-CAG-like? Lots of us have Xbox Live Gold accounts, dude... Probably the majority of people in this thread, in fact.
