Honestly, I kinda hope these deals slow down soon. If there's one thing I find almost completely unavoidable, it's XBLA discounting.

My two cents for any last-minute shoppers on the fence: Happy Tree Friends is different, but not delightfully so; in fact, I would consider it quite lame. Try the demo. As far as old Sega games go, several of them are good for quickly boosting your gamerscore if you're into that - a pal and I tore through Golden Axe, Altered Beast, and Streets of Rage II in almost no time and racked up tons of cheevos. Even if you have the Genesis collection, that may be of note to you.

And I know it has nothing to do with what's on sale, but running through X-Men with a pal or two - LOL.
Hmmmmmmm debating over getting Sonic Adventure , I remember playing the dreamcast demo like 10 yrs ago haha.
I know I am not getting it, since a disc based version exists...but if you don't care about the disc and have never actually played it...THEN BY THOR GET IT
RvB Grifball prop is only 80 points. It seems uncharacteristically low for being such a nice little prop. MS usually sets unique props like that around 240.
Explosion is not Grifball enough, no sale for me

I played the disc version and I regret not getting the XBLA version instead. That game has a ridiculous amount of long loading times. Sometimes there is even a loading time to get to the pause menu! To make matters worse, you can't install and play the game from the disc to speed things up.

For what it's worth, I suggest getting the XBLA version for 400 if you are interested in it.

Edit: I was talking about Sonic Adventure.

Normally I wouldn't ask because I thought I knew (and I'm sure it is asked all the time) but when again do these DotW deals typically end?

What game are you talking about?

I picked up Golden Axe and couldn't be happier. It's one of my favorite games of all time and still holds up to this day. The smoothened out graphics look very good and I'm thrilled it's the Arcade version as I have not played that one in a long time. The Genesis version is almost a perfect arcade port, but it's still nice to see the bodies remain on the ground when you kill an enemy :)

Picked up Ilomilo, Peggle, and Peggle Nights. I'm having alot of fun with Ilomilo at the moment, it's more challenging than I thought it would be (especially the later levels). Never played Peggle before but after playing the demo, I'm sold on the full game and the DLC. I'm not sure why I didn't pick it up last time it was on sale.

Wonder if we're going to get a DOTW this week. C'mon Hard Corps Uprising or Torchlight.
Are all the on sale SEGA games with improve HD graphic or just straight ports ?
The emulated games are pretty much the same old games with a graphical filter + new front-end menus.
Tomorrow's deals haven't been announced yet.
Thanx. I'll figure it out after class tomorrow...Won't be getting anything until Friday anyway.
Do you guys think Virtual-On is worth it ? its the last day. Need honest opinion THanks. !
I bought it just because its never on sale without playing the demo and knowing little to nothing about it. Not terrible as I have a lot of points but man, the controls are just ugh. Probably because it was on Dreamcast and they didn't want to change anything but I beat the first guy in arcade mode and couldn't beat the second. Just impossible. Weird tank controls and a guard system that didn't seem to guard. If you can get use to it seems great.

It's super short, the controls are archaic, and the combat is simplistic.

However, it is a ton of fun, bright and colorful, and will probably never go on sale again.

I can't recommend this one enough to those on the fence. It's not likely to go on sale again for a painfully long time. Ultimately, try the demo and see if it's your cup of tea. If your not a retro gamer or weren't there when this was new you may find it's not up your alley.

Yea the control system is clearly unmodified from the original DC version. It's a shame they didn't modernize the control scheme or at least give an option for one. The game was designed for the single left analog stick gamepad so the (now) right thumbstick controls are all mapped to the face buttons instead. Such an obvious design flaw of the earlier platforms. I can only hope Virtual-On Force fixes this and doesn't try to "stay true to the franchise" and maintain these archaic control schemes.

Same here. I got it back when it was released and try as I might, I still can't get the hang of it. I guess I need to practice more, but it's not giving me a lot of incentive to try.

Ended up picking up Comix Zone and ilomilo... how can anyone resist the overwhelming cuteness!

Still on the fence with the Peggle DLC, I have the game and the DLC has never gone on sale, but I also haven't touched the game due to backlog...

I agree. but you know girls will love to play peggle and the dlc for 200 ms points ($2.50) is like doubling the game so you're getting a whole new game as an expansion pack in dlc really. Think i'm going to get it, new achievements and also being able to play it over xbl with others will be make it more fun too :bouncy:

That bad? I mean, have you tried both the disc based and XBLA? I prefer XBLA games on disc because I always prefer having physical proof of my purchase (which I think was a mistake with RDR UN)

Ya, but ya know when girls get into peggle, there isn't really gonna be anything else happening...

Kinda hoping that the next deal of the week sucks. So i can convince myself to get the new section 8. I am so back logged on games that i should not be getting any more games but i got points in my account and i am eeady to use them!!

Hope the marvel tables for pinball fx2 is the next DOTW
Scooped up Peggle Nights...fought the urge to buy others though.
You will not regret it man, tons of Peggle content and achievements/challenges will keep you at that game for a while.
MN has been lagging on the updates.
He has, but I'd imagine that part of the reason for the delay is because we've seen a handful of these games on sale for the past couple of weeks. (After Burner Climax, 3D Ultra Minigolf 2, etc.)

Wasn't After Burner on sale last week, too?

AWESOME, Banjo Kazooie's finally on sale? I've been waiting for it to go on sale since I got Banjo Tooie the week I got my 360 last year in July. Now I can finally do Stop 'N Swap!

Guess I'll buy Contra to make it a full 800 points.

Also LOL RISK FACTIONS AGAIN THAT'S WHAT 138 TIMES IT'S BEEN ON SALE NOW?!
question, will this be included in the ultimate dead rising 2 set coming out soon?
I don't think it's an ultimate edition, just a "what if" game with Frank West.

And I'm about to just buy Tenchu: Shadow Assault because it's never going on sale.

Oh, DR2: Off The Record. Yeah, it's not an new Edition. It's more of a "fan's edition" & a "what-if" with Frank. There's tons of new content (characters, psychopaths, weapons, clothing, combo weapons, a new area not in the casino or mall, etc), so most likely, it might get its own DLC.

The dead rising sales are finally live. I picked up case west. Don't know about the two skill packs but probably won't get them. All ready own case zero.

I am debating on Contra but might wait and see if that Konami volume 2 disc drops even further used at gamestop that 12.99 since I don't own Rush n Attack or Track & Field anyways. Would rather have it in disc form anyways. Probably wait until the last minute to decide.

Is there anybody here that didn't like Dead Rising 1 but liked #2? I used to have #1 but didn't care for it. I enjoyed the demo of case zero (most due to the crazyness of the weapon mixing) and always planned on getting the #2. With the DLC I'm wondering if I should get it or not in fear I still won't care much for the game.

Just wanted to try and getting some input, thanks.

Is Case West independent like Case Zero? Meaning it doesn't need the disc to be played? I have it so if it does no big deal, just wondering.

Case Zero should be a no brainer at 200 by the way. heh... no brainer... zombies. I made a funny.

hahah nice pun. I forgot about not needing the disc that's right. No loss in that case, thanks for reminding me lol.

Found this from IGN's review of Case West

"Case West opens as another ending/epilogue to that story with Chuck still framed -- although this is a standalone download that doesn't require the Dead Rising 2 disc and doesn't interact with any Dead Rising 2 save you might have."
