Xbox 360 Controller for the PC

The wired 360 controller works fine. You just plug it into the USB slot.

For the wireless controller, you need to buy a wireless adapter for ~20 to plug into the USB slot.

It's worth noting that MS is planning to make the 360 controller compatible with all games released under the "Games for Windows" title next year when Vista comes out. Which means that ports of games like DMC 3 or Onimusha 3 would actually be playable on PC. And that'd be nice.

The version "for Windows" is just the 360 controller in a retail box with a driver. You don't need the drivers for the controller to work, but you'll need them eventually for Xinput functionality.

The driver is a free download from Microsoft, and can even be grabbed through the "do you want Windows to search Windows Update" type dialog box. Takes two seconds for it to install if you've got a net connection.

Unfortunately the 360 pad might be the best one out for PC right now, but it's d-pad is completly broken, so it's not good for all games.
