• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Apex Legends season 4 and new hero were revealed. Maybe someone that has played previous seasons knows what's up but last night when I played there were 4 weeks of challenges left to be revealed but season 4 starts in less than 2 weeks? Don't think it really matters because they haven't added new challenges in a few weeks. My first time buying a battle pass, had it for a month or so and am like rank 72. It was fun but don't think it's something I'd do every season, or maybe not until a month or so in. It's just taken up so much of my gaming time that I haven't played much else.  If they had actually added challenges I probably would've gotten close to top rank but don't think I'd want to grind out the last 30ish levels without challenges. 

I have been playing off and on with someone that I did well with for the last week or so but they only message in voice messages which unfortunately don't work in the mobile app. Would be convenient to be able to check them in the app while playing another game or watching something.

My external HDD I use for media (movies, TV and such), is no longer reading properly on my console. It takes a while to load up, and then seems to keep reading or something once the "Ready" thing pops up, keeping games and apps from loading.

I tried different ports, different cables, and it still shows up fine on my PC. I don't really have the space to be able to transfer stuff off for a re-format. I tried a hard reset, though I didn't do a system Factory reset.

Any suggestions?

I'm seeing this late but I just recently had the Xbox One randomly stop reading my 10TB game storage drive. Except mine wasn't reading on the Xbox anymore at all but it did register on my WD drive utility on my PC.

Unfortunately for me, the only solution was to reformat the drive. I sincerely hope you find a workaround.

I've made zero progress on my backlog in the new year, but I have played a lot of stuff I've enjoyed through Game Pass - of particular note, high recommend on Children of Morta. Roguelite, but allows for grinding that makes you significantly more powerful if you run into hardships. Played a bit with my wife, and did a bit solo this evening and both styles were fun and rewarding.

I've also been playing Middle-earth: Shadow of War, but I'm getting a bit tired of the grindiness of the Shadow Wars portion. I looked up what that bit was like before they removed the microtransactions, and that sounds 1) really money-hungry and 2) extremely tedious. Surely it's better now, but I'm not enjoying it anywhere near as much as Shadow of Mordor

Looking forward to giving Plague Tale and Indivisible a shot after I finish up those two. Then maybe work through some of the old stuff finally if they stop adding games I'm interested in. Either way, win.

I’ve been giving Witcher 3 a try since it’s on Gamepass and I wanted to see if the story and side quests were as good as I heard. I was hesitant because I didn’t enjoy the combat and couldn’t get into the second game. I’m going to have to stop and buy the GOTY edition when it goes on sale again. This game is great and I’m addicted.

There is a UK code on cdkeys for $21. I may go ahead and get that.

Ha!  That's funny.  I was happy getting my $300 Xbox One X through a Google store deal almost a year ago now.  I didn't want to pay full price for a minor upgrade, but I must admit I enjoy having it for the UHD player if nothing else... and I use it for games too.

I haven't played Jurassic Park yet, but I made sure to grab it while it was a Gold freebie.  Just sounds like fun.

As for FIFA 20, it was down to $25.02 on one of the key sites earlier today and I broke down.  TOTY looks bada$$, but there is no way I'm spending a bunch of real money on those cars.  Instead, after just a little time in Ultimate Team earning some minor upgrades and such, I went into Career Mode, took over Man Utd, and did a transfer deal for Mbappe.  That's put a MAJOR dent in the transfer budget, and while I transfer listed Martial and a bunch of other players, I dunno if I'll get enough to go for Van Dijk, so I'm planning on looking for some younger guys with potential and improving at AM, M, D, and a Goalie.  Hopefully that's enough to rule all and make Man Utd the powerhouse they used to be.

Games Pass is quickly becoming my bane for the same reason: anything I buy gets ignored while I try to keep up with the quality games they keep tossing our way. Finally started Morta and yeah. . .gonna be hooked on that one for a bit. Been TRYING to get to Outer Worlds but I feel like Plague Tale would be shorter so I may just whip through that next. It's used in the character selection screen, I think you press X to advance. If you have the item it will just do it, if not then the game will ask you to purchase the advance item.

The GOTY version of the game has been cheaper than that on a semi-regular basis, so they saved you some money.

Children of Morta is pretty good, it's a rogue light/like whatever, but not very punishing in death. Was pretty much over pixel art, but some quality stuff in this one. They should of did the graphics work for Square on all the old SNES rpg remakes they've been putting out, at least the backgrounds.

It's pretty similar, except I haven't been in the "overworld" like that since the tutorial it's just dungeons. One thing I would say if you were going to give it another chance. The sword and shield guy they have you go through the tutorial with is by far my least favorite character to play as. His mechanics are just boring. It starts to become very Diablo after awhile, where I have a ranged character and basically every button on the controller is dishing out some kind of attack. it doesn't change that much though, by it's Rogue nature it's a lot of rinse and repeat just to keep leveling. The 3 bosses I've fought so far have all been fairly different and interesting mechanics wise. Still haven't got a grasp on this 3rd one yet.

Does anyone else here own the game Streets of Rogue?  I'm trying to use the Vampire character that I just unlocked, but I can't figure out which button to press to make him bite people when he stands behind them.  

The game's menu isn't helpful at all because it uses the PC controls instead of a standard Xbox One controller in the explanation.  Thanks.

Edit: I figured it out.  You have to stand behind a NPC (non-player character) when no one else is around and hold down the left trigger.  I assume that it will work the same way with the cannibal and zombie characters as well. 

This game is awesome.
