• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Well, I got too excited and redeemed a few too many Bing points with the recent hot deal. So I pre-ordered Cyberpunk with the intention of cancelling later to extend the expiration date (so I can put it toward Series X). Well, MS just cancelled the preorder automatically since the release date was pushed back so far. Now my refunded credit has no expiration date!

I have the Kunio-Kun Classics collection that I purchased with Hong Kong monies. It has the same games, but it is awesome that they are translating the titles that never had English translations. Hopefully there will be an XBOX release. For the Kunio-kun collection they had physical releases for Switch and PS4. XBOX was digital-only, maybe that will be the case again.

I know it's not the exact same thing, but close enough to be disappointing.

Yeah I've checked in from time to time to see about converting some money to Hong Kong and grabbing it. I know people on True Achievements have done it, not quite worth the cost for me though...

Finished A plague tale last night. Great game, and I’m no longer bitter about spending $20 on it before it went to game pass a few weeks later. I highly recommend moving it to the top of your game pass playlist. I will admit, the brother is very annoying at first, but he gets slightly more tolerable as the game progresses.

The current head of Gears is quitting and heading to Blizzard to work on Diablo. Wonder what that means for Gears going forward and why we haven't seen or heard anything about Tactics in months(edit I guess it was at Game Awards, missed that one). Honestly I think it was time for a change Gears 4/5 were way to safe and there needs to be a really big series reinvention

So for the achievement hunters here, here's what i know about FFXV:

It's not Play Anywhere, but the PC and Xbox versions share the same achievement list.  So your save file wont transfer, but the achievements will.

The Comrades DLC achievements are discontinued on the Xbox version, but can still be obtained with the PC version.  So you can play Comrades on the PC and unlock the achievements there if you're a completionist.

The PC version has ALL of the DLC baked in, with the exception of Episode Ardyn, but its still included with GP.  DLC is still separate on the Xbox.

I probably screwed up big time.

I bought the 3-Month Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One cards from CDKeys.com for $18.38 for 2 "cards", then bought 4 more cards buying 2 at a time as suggested here previously.  So for less than $60, I got 18-months worth of "time".  I was going to redeem my 14-days of Game Pass Ultimate, then add each of these cards to my account.  Only when I went to do the 14-day pass, it said it would convert any Xbox Game Pass time to Ultimate time when I applied that code.  So rather than do the 14-day code first, I applied one of the Game Pass cards I bought from CDKeys.  That worked fine, but when I went to apply the 2nd code of the 6... it failed saying it was for "trials" or whatever only.  I applied the 14-day GPU code, and enabled auto-billing for the extra month.  But even after doing that, trying to enter another CDKeys code... it's failing.

Did I buy 6 cards for only 1 to work?  I feel sick.

Not sure how Rod leaving will affect Gears. I know Halo has felt lost without someone really guiding the franchise. I still think Gears 5 campaign was solid, but I know the community hates how multiplayer is being handled with the slow updates and trash monetization. Hard to know whose fault that is overall.

I didn't realise Tactics was only 2 months out. I think this was being developed outside the Coalition anyways so it probably wasn't affected much.

Good luck to anyone going to Blizzard now. Mostly negativity being hurled at them thanks to the last couple of years of decisions. Diablo 4 has a most people expecting a disaster as far as I can tell.

What games will give you all of your achivements when you log in to the computer version if you played it on xbox.

For example. I played world of tanks on xbox. When i played it on the computer and logged in it gave me all the achivements I had got already.

Are there any other games that do this?

The expiration date is a real thing. That's why you have probably seen other CAGs talking about using their Xbox credit before it expires. I assume that they don't want people banking up credit indefinitely.

I tend to use mine regularly to buy indie games or to convert physical games over to digital so that I don't have to buy Xbox gift cards, but other people have been talking about trying to save up their Microsoft points to buy the new Xbox from the Microsoft Store when it comes out. I assume those people hardly ever cash out their accounts.

On a related note, I stupidly let Google Play credit that I had earned from doing the Google Rewards app surveys expire last year. So I lost about $3 from doing their random surveys. I looked, and it was just gone.

Hardest part for flappy goat was just finding the TV. Once you find it, just score 1 point, then score 3 points and you get the reward.

They'll be there in a very minor form at the Mixer booth but yeah generally speaking they won't be there which is really disappointing. Not that they usually have much cool stuff to show off I do always like their presence. Lot of big regulars skipping pax east this year. No behavior, Bethesda, bandai namco. Sony's going strong this year however

I liked their gamepass booth last year. They had supermarket shriek, afterparty and void bastards plus a few more that were fun to play before release. Surprised blizzard and ubisoft aren't there either, they both usually have at least a nice selection of limited merch if they aren't showing games.

Yeah more than ever before this seems like a system that I can sit and wait a bit. Still planning on using my points, but there are still so many variables out there to figure out. Is it going to cost $700, is the Xbox One X actually going to be still pretty viable if games are programmed to work across to the Xbox One platform. It will be stocked in the MS store some day and I'll hopefully have a lot of MS Rewards points to cash in on it.

What you’re accusing Microsoft of is artificial scarcity. In the case of oil or diamonds or some medications this might be true, however anything that has a substitute good is very hard to do this with. Even oil, since the US has been drilling, now middle eastern countries can’t slow production to raise the price per barrel. The fact that Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo will all be suffering from the chip shortage should indicate real scarcity and not artificial. When I worked in manufacturing, if we had been down for a couple of weeks due to infectious illness, the corporation would have had outages of certain items. It’s expensive to sit on aging inventory so most corporations won’t run excess if they don’t think they will sell it. You don’t want to mess up your inventory turnover ratio and upset investors.

Basically what I’m saying is, Microsoft really might have shortages but I don’t think they are doing it on purpose and I think they would love to have enough Series X this holiday for everyone that wants to buy them directly since they don’t make money from resellers on eBay marking them up.

Sounds like WWE 2K20 is releasing patch 1.07 and new content tomorrow.  While I'm pretty frustrated by the storylines, I must admit enjoying the Rumble.  Anyone played it lately to know if it's getting better?  I hear the original release without patches was brutal.  Also, I'd be interested to know if Bayley's entrance and music are updated in the game... or if the only way to do that is download "custom" versions.  While the digital versions seem full price everywhere, $20 from Gamestop for the Deluxe version with the free downloads / add-on's is pretty sweet.
