• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Not gonna lie, I saw Zangetsu, and immediately my mind went to a current gen Bleach game. I think the otaku in me just wants that new season real bad.

I Read the whole series at work a few years ago. I Hope you enjoy it more than I did because I definitely felt after the Soul Society arc it just dragged and got beyond even Dragon Ball levels ridiculous with Ichigo having somewhere around 2-4 new forms each arc.

That last arc has some interesting stuff but alot of pacing issues thanks to a crunched schedule. Hopefully if the show final starts back up it will help address that issue.

I gave up on hope for remasters a while back. I thought they might have been done after Andromeda had problems and so much criticism but last I heard, the teams that had experience with them have been shuffled around to different projects like The next Dragon Age. Get them. I’m missing two from ME 3 and I’m gonna pick them up in case I feel like replaying the games them for the 5 time each.

I think at this rate we'd be more likely to receive a remake of the original with remasters of 2 and 3.

Which would be awesome.

I read the final arc too a while back. I was just pissed that the ended the anime at a filler arc, especially with everything that went down in the last arc of the manga. I remember thinking this would be great in the anime.

Yeah, there definitely was some pacing issues, and some things that got lost in fan sub translation, but I think the anime would definitely be able to bring back the shine and glory. I just can't wait to see some of those fights actually pan out.

Is all of the Mass Effect DLC worth getting or any recommendations for what to buy? Have all 3 on disc and apparently bought Citadel and Lair of the Shadow Broker in the past.

I can only speak for 2, as I haven't touched the DLC for 3 yet, but for 2, Lair of the Shadow Broker is the best, followed closely by Overlord. The mission for Zaeed is okay, I liked Kasumi's better.

Mass Effect 1-3 is literally my favorite game series ever. I am in the minority of people who enjoyed ME1 as a game better than 2 or 3. The Mako portions are a train wreck, but I enjoyed the management of characters and equipment much more in 1 than the others. ME2, in terms of story, is the pinnacle of character development. Nearly every piece of major DLC is good to great. ME3 was certainly much more polarizing because of the original ending, but I enjoyed it as a conclusion to Sheppard regardless of the overall outcome of other things. The ME3 DLC is still all very good, and at the price of under $5 for every piece, I’d get all of it. Citadel was the one piece I felt wasn’t super necessary, even if it was pretty substantial. Please play those games. I have played through the trilogy on both PS3 and Xbox. Why? Because I simply loved the series, and at the time I was physical media all the way. Xbox has multiple discs and PS3 did not. I even bought ME3 on Wii U because it was the “most complete” version on physical media. Anyway, love the games, buy the DLC, I think I might go play through them all again.

Sure, but not from insiders with reputable records. I'm often very skeptical but some insiders have a track record that speak for themselves, and in this case I believe it. Worst case scenario, they're wrong and we'll find out this year. Best case scenario, they're right and us Mass Effect fans finally have something to look forward to and enough reason to replay it, while people who haven't played it have a reason to jump in and finally try it out.

Always great to see Mega Man on sale. They shouldn't have caved. Kinect was terrible, but the digital stuff sounded great. The vocal minority of online idiots ruined everything. That family sharing thing alone would have saved my household probably over $1000, but the crybabies really need to trade in a stack of 10+ games to get the latest overhyped game at GameStop. Almost all of it is pretty good, with the exception of ME1 Pinnacle Station. ME2 Lair of the Shadow Broker is one of the greatest pieces of DLC ever created.

It's been heavily suggested from verified insiders at Resetera that the Mass Effect trilogy remaster is going to be announced this year by EA, likely within the next 3 months.

Almost all of it is pretty good, with the exception of ME1 Pinnacle Station. ME2 Lair of the Shadow Broker is one of the greatest pieces of DLC ever created.

I want the whole trilogy remastered in 4K with X1X/XSX enhancements, with all 3 games getting the mechanics/engine from ME3. I can dream anyway.

I would say Infinite Warfare Deluxe. Thirty bucks for that game plus Modern Warfare remastered is a good deal for two of the best COD campaigns

That family sharing thing alone would have saved my household probably over $1000, but the crybabies really need to trade in a stack of 10+ games to get the latest overhyped game at GameStop. There are new release $60 games I paid $48 or less for, traded in and bought the digital at some point and essentially got the game for free. (Gamestop/etc bonus trade value, that happens during or right before a huge discount on the digital copy. Or bought the digital later when on deep deep sale)

I know I'm not the only one that got games that way for free.. But no digital only buyers can.

Bought BL3 Super Deluxe for $39 from Newegg/Amazon a few months back. Sold it the next week for $35 at GameStop... Bought the standard on Xbox Live for $20.

I have the Super Deluxe for $25 *AND* have the steelbook. Cheapest Digital has been is $50 for the SD.

For those that want an all digital collection? good for you.

For those that do not? WHY does it bother YOU?

There's also data caps that people had to deal with back then, some STILL do.

I buy both, but *prefer* the ability to get the physical.

It definitely was not a vocal minority at the time, and even after 7 years I don't think it's a minority now. More people have embraced digital and I'm not arguing against the obvious pros. There are just as many cons to digital games as their are pros, and which one wins out is subjective to the different use cases. Sure, it will go that way eventually, but it's much better to get their gradually than be forced all at once. The biggest difference between consoles going all digital and where PC is at is that PC has like 4 or 5 big and usable store fronts that have at least some crossover in the games they sell, plus many smaller ones, so we have options, and competition on the exact same games.

Defending the always online requirement is just dumb when it doesn't actually benefit you in any meaningful way, which it would and does not on MOST games. The current Home Xbox system is basically a scaled back version of the family share plan that was announced, and if you're without internet you basically have a brick for the duration of the outage. If you buy an Xbox without internet it is a brick.

I'm not someone who trades in games very often, but having a used market available is a very positive thing with how expensive buying a lot of games can be. The biggest negative by far is being at the total whims of the platform holders and publisher on both pricing and availability of games. Some publisher choose to keep their games at full retail eternally except maybe if their is a replacement. THPS 5 is still listed as $60 by Activision. Having physical copies of games also means games that are delisted don't vanish from existence. Being able to loan or borrow games between friends

5 years and counting. I can't get "regular" internet cause no one services this far out not even satellite internet. The only way I can get on is using a hotspot device on my cell phone plan. Even then I can't play online since my NET is always set to strict. Not to mention data caps, mine is a soft cap meaning I can go over but might be slowed after 22GB of use. So far never ran into that even when I hit 1TB usage a few times. With that said, I've gone all digital anyways!

Up until late 2018, I dealt with such a slow internet connection since it was the only provider available. I would be ecstatic if I got a 2 MB download speed. No surprise when it dipped into the kbps. Brand new games would take days to install. Thankfully, mobile hot spotting became available via a dedicated tablet and now I'm in the teens with a high of 30+ mbps in the 12am-6am time slot. 2018 and before, playing online vs was a rare occurence. It felt like a privilege.

Now that we are a generation later, an all digital system definitely can work for more people. Much more so, since its heavily rumored Microsoft will release an all digital Xbox Series X console either during the holidays or by 2021. And yes, I had days where internet would randomly not work or the power would be out over the years. Most infuriating and helpless feeling to not be able to enjoy something as simple as playing a video game, but its beyond your control. Whether it's the internet is buggy or Microsoft's servers are down

The hottest of takes, you really need to step outside whatever bubble you are living in. I remember Best Buy selling Forza Horizon 2 day one edition for $20 on black Friday right after it released, with GCU it could be had for $16. That game was still selling for $60 everywhere including digital and that is just 1 of many examples. So between GCU and physical sales I've saved a boat load, plus selling those games on ebay/amazon when done, it just isn't even comparable. I also used Gamefly up until last year, that couldn't have existed in Microsoft's original plans. I do think the concept was ahead of its time, but even with where we are today, it would still get shit on by a majority. The recently failed Xbox SAD is further proof of this.

I almost never buy used or sell games but it was far from a vocal minority almost everyone I know offline immediately said Xbox and switched to Sony and for years they were saying it doesn’t play used games and can’t play offline even though I kept telling them they changed it.

I’m mostly digital now only cause of the fact that I use ms rewards but if not I’d still probably buy discs more due to the fact they go on sale sooner.

If it was the minority then Sony would not have shot so far ahead of MS in sales. I have saved a lot more money between buying games on release date using Best Buys game deal they used to have and then reselling the game when I was done on eBay for close to what I paid for it than I would have with a family sharing deal.

I think this console generation MS needed to prove that an all digital console for everyone would not be so bad. Game Pass is the only successful move they have made in that area. The lack of Xbox One demos, the terrible digital prices for games even when they have a sale and the issues with returning digital games (I think you can do that one time?) still makes me not want them to go all digital. Prove that it will work before planning your next 8 years around the concept.

The way you game is not the way everyone else games. People do things differently. What works for you wont work for someone else. So just because some people want to buy their games different than you does not make them idiots or crybabies. You did not get what you wanted in an Xbox One, no need to name call because of it.

Not that I know much on the history but hindsight suggest MS was actually ahead of the market on the whole digital game scene. They knew it was the future, they just communicated the benefits poorly...or maybe just too early. The idea that I buy a new physical game and it becomes my digital copy is something that I would be interested in as a collector gamer. I mean, digital games and wireless controllers have pretty much made me a lazy gamer. Here I am looking at digital sales on games I already own physical copies of just so I don't have to get off my couch. Even better, what if you have multiple consoles in your home? Games will go the way of any other media...CDs and Blu-rays are on the decline quick; many of us probably own these but use digital copies or streaming instead...they just become "shelf eye candy" to us.

I would like to see MS do something similar to the VUDU "disc to digital" concept with games. Pay a small amount and the game becomes part of your digital library. Really nice with BC titles at least for me.

Out of 8 of us that used to have Halo nights on 360, two bought a PS4 and still have never gone back to Xbox to this day and one is now a PC gamer. All 8 of us were big on playing Halo Reach every Friday back in the late 360 but the digital only Xbox One launch pushed 3/8 of my group off Xbox for this entire generation. I don’t remember them whining about it either, they just looked at the announcement and decided that wasn’t for them. Until they reversed it, I was thinking of just going PC only. I was the only one of the 8 of us to buy the Xbox One within its launch year. Those announcements had real consequences for Microsoft. It wasn’t just a vocal minority that cared, I would say it was a majority, and some they lost forever.
