• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Battle Chasers Quest

You seem to get the points from battles. Played between 30-45 mins and the battles are turn-based and not difficult. I may revisit this when I'm done with FM2.

FYI - For those who haven't played you will unlock an achievement once your reach the world map where most of the gameplay takes place.

Depends if you like walking sim games. No different than when I see a title like Hitman go on sale and think, "eh just another one of those stealth games." If you like the genre that is walking simulators, I think you'll enjoy it. Right up there with Firewatch, What Remains of Edith Finch or even Gone Home. Virginia has a Twin Peaks/X-Files vibe, in that it's a mystery, story driven and has lots of WTF was that moments. One of the few games that as soon as it ended, I started another playthrough. Definitely worth $2 imo

I'll be the other side here. I enjoy walking sims and absolutely love Twin Peaks but I didn't find Virginia all that good. I'd put all those mentioned above it in terms of quality. That said, it's $2 so you wouldn't be out much. I think I bought it at $5

I didn't like it at all. It made absolutely no sense to me so it was a chore to get through it for the achievements. Some of the walking simulators have great stories for you to experience (What Remains of Edith Finch, Tacoma, etc) on your way to the completions, but Virginia was confusing, especially the ending.

I wish I could filter my Digital Xbox games list by ESRB rating on the console. Would love to filter out Mature titles when playing with my kids.

My 8 year old is in a kick lately where he wants to try new games, so he is always asking me which ones don’t have blood so he can play. He has tried Ori and the Blind Forest and Final Fantasy XV but it would be nice to filter out the Mature games and just let him go to town on everything teen and below.

I've embarked on a quarantine (and very likely, beyond) quest to get my 360 achievement percentage up from 34% to at least 50%. So I've been grabbing up games that I played for like an hour or only unlocked a few achievements in. Mostly physical copies but digital when the difference is just a few dollars. I chalk it up to just always wanting to play the newest thing and working at a gamestop early in the 360s lifespan. Played a lot of games for half an hour and then never again during slow times in the store. I'm looking at you Superman Returns, Pimp My Ride, Bulletwitch, Over G Fighters, Test Drive Unlimited, etc, etc.

I'll let everyone know when I finally bite on games that seem to have never been on sale and cost about as much as a physical copy. Like The Orange Box or DarkstarOne or Eternal Sonata...

Not saying this is wrong but $540 would certainly be a weird price point right?. My guess would be $500, but if they go over why not just $550? Can't see that $10 making much of a difference.

I feel like anything over $499 is a tough sell unless you have multiple SKUs. This applies to both Xbox and PS4.

You'll love onrush.

Gravel is the best pure arcade racer (other than onrush because of it's fun factor) that I've played this gen. Tracks are great, physics are great, and the game overall is definitely worth it. I'm not sure I'd go with the special edition because it doesnt come with any extra achievements and from what I know only comes with a few extra tracks, but if your intent is to experience the game as much as possible than it makes sense.

I've heard nothing but negative things about The Crew 1 & 2 so I'd avoid those, and you'll get enough destruction in Onrush to make you forget about the destruction racer bundle.

What Remains of Edith Finch was an incredible game. Such an emotional roller coaster.

Side note, after finishing A Plague Tale: Innocence I wanted to try something out of my wheelhouse and started Nier Automata since I’ve never been a fan of Japanese style games. I’m not far into it but I’m really enjoying it. I had no idea it had shmup sections. I may buy his if it drops during the summer sale.

He is the bravest bad-ass I know. A military veteran and the rock of our family. He is scared to death to be at the hospital right now with how bad the virus is here. Sorry to hear, sending prayers for peace and healing. Not sure if it helps, but I’ve worked in a hospital for 13yrs as a Sonographer and I’ve scanned a lot of cancer patients. If you’re going to have cancer/tumor, the intestines are a good spot since you can have a portion removed and still live a semi-normal life. But either way it sucks and I’m sorry he and your family have to go through it.

Anybody else having problem with Mortal Kombat X? I had it installed on the external hard drive and it would not load, nothing was for a while from there. I deleted it and reinstalled and still nothing.
I unplugged external when Xbox was off and plugged it back in when Xbox was on and games were running again from the external but not Mortal Kombat X. I even uninstalled and installed on internal and that did not work, all I ever get is the logo and it does not load any further.

I, too, bought it... though it was in (February?) The Before Times, when Gamestop was doing a buy2get2 on 360/ps3 games. Picked it up with a few Kinect games.

Though my intention for getting it was just that I wanted to have an easily primed 2-point achievement to unlock so that once I hit 99,999g I can jump straight to 100,001g.

And if the 3 of us buying it doesn't make it go GWG, then we'll just have to have 1 additional person per month buy it until we can determine critical mass.

Looks like it's my turn for a piece of devastating personal news. I've been doing all the shopping for my grandfather during the pandemic so he can be safe at home. He is 86 years young. I've noticed that he has seemed off balance this last month and this week he actually asked me for help with yard work he likes to do himself. I felt like something was wrong but I thought maybe it was just because he had been sitting at home for 2 months not exercising. He is the type of person that does not tell family about issues he is having, he doesn't want to worry them. Yesterday he was complaining about stomach pain, he thought it was something he ate but he looked pretty rough when I saw him. This morning it was worse, we called 911 because he was pale and weak, unable to walk. It ends up he has really had pain for 4 days. They rushed him to the hospital and found internal bleeding. He was given a blood transfusion and the scans show intestinal blockage, likely cancer. He is having emergency surgery tomorrow morning. I'm completely ed up right now trying to deal with it. He is the bravest bad-ass I know. A military veteran and the rock of our family. He is scared to death to be at the hospital right now with how bad the virus is here. We can call him, but no visitors allowed

These are the scariest moments in a person's lifetime. Having to wait outside while a person they care about is in surgery. The minutes and hours almost seems to stand still in what seems like days before you get news everything went great and they are recovering. I send good vibes and well wishes to you and your family.

I Still have Mafia 3 Gold Edition I gotta start and I just remember the last portion of Mafia 2 was the most drawn out "why is this in the game?" segment of any game I've ever played with the whole "WE NEED MONEY! GO DO THINGS THAT'LL GET US MONEY!"

First one had the most memorable ending of a game for me. Played through 2 but don't remember much. Picked up 3 recently but haven't tried it. I'd be interested in this just to play 1 again on modern hardware.

Borderlands 3. It's pretty great. The criticisms are overblown, however, they are not without merit. If you enjoyed the other ones, you'll enjoy this one and there is a ton of content that could take a long time to play if that's part of the value equation.

Folks also thinking that demo means PS5 is better based on the Valhallah stuff. You can't compare a tech demo (which was made by the people who created Unreal Engine 5) to a game that's in development and use that to judge which platform is more powerful. I'm guessing that same demo would look just as good or similarly impressive on the XSX.

I don't know, Digital Foundry seems pretty stoked by this demo on the PS5. I guess it will depend on how much of this is benefiting from the SSD.

It made me lose a decent chunk of my remaining brain cells. A "Summer Gaming Showcase" that the Geoff hypes up only for him to take an hour time slot to show 8 minutes of an incredibly boring tech demo and then talk about fortnite for 40 minutes with three other adults. Says before the "show" that's he so excited then half asses a 40 minute fortnite convo. Hes a tool.

If people are gonna complain about people complaining about there being little to no games being shown during this time, they should at least make sense when typing. Clearly there was no need for the 40 minute fortnite conversation between four ADULTS. Either show the tech demo and end the stream, or use that 40 minutes for something useful.

Side note: I must be the only person on the planet who has no interest in these incredibly realistic (or whatever you want to call them) graphics they're pushing now. They're seemingly aiming for real-life sims which completely voids my interest.
