General info
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
    On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?
Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :
  1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
  2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
  3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
  4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
  5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.
The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Destroy All Humans is a pretty simple story completion, and can net you some high numbers of gamerscore. Remember your friends, the Telltales. Have you hit the fast completions already?

 
My Turtle Beach 420X headset has decided to stop working. After doing my research I'm leaning towards the Steelseries line but I'm unsure between the 1($99) 7X($149) or 9X($199). I like the mixed comparability between wired and wireless as well as being able to switch to USB mode and use for PS4/VR.

how are you guys getting so much rewards so quick? do you have to play 24/7 to get that much?

Lots of games have quick and easy achievements. Trueachievements will let you sort games by completion time, and you can filter game pass only games.

So I bought a 1 and it works great, but the sound comes through the TV at the same time. I had to disable HDMI sound at the console level to put a stop to that because it didn't do it automatically.

I am focus targeting some shorter games to try and get some of my backlog cleared like Rain on Your Parade, Narita Boy, Destroy All Humans and I still can't get through these games quick enough lol. Want to try Dragon Builders but have a feeling that's one of those games that will suck my soul away. Anybody who says Xbox has no games a) doesn't have an xbox and b) doesn't have gamepass. :bouncy:

 
Every headset I’ve had for Xbox the sound comes thru the tv. I currently have the steel series 9x. Quality is great. They feel great on my head no pressure I hardly feel anything I can wear them for hours. By turning on your headset your Xbox turns on. They have bluetooth so you can pair to your phone and Xbox at the same time or any other Bluetooth device. The sound is great, honestly had no problem with my last head set tho, I just wanted something new. I haven’t tested the mic. They stay charged for a long time as well. Not sure I would pay $200 for them tho, I got my set for $125 so I’m happy with them for now.

I've never played a lot of different games I tend to play just one game for a long time so it's kept a lot of options open for me over the last 3 10k challenges

I didn't think I'd hit the 10k this time around but I was able to find some with high score/easy achievements that I hadn't hit for the other challenges

I try to stick with games that have like 10-20 achievements and are a few hours long

did some tell tale stuff, super hot was a fun one for me

the older doom games were a good source of points

genesis noir was a good one for points

little acre was a relatively easy 500 and could be more with a guide

donut county

neir was an easy 400 points with a cheat

I hadn't touched ark (console command achievement game) so that helped a lot

then I just picked up a couple hundred here a couple hundred there from random games

anything you can get achievements from by using console commands is an easy way to rack it up

If people are like me and don't play a lot of different games these challenges are worth it not only for the points but to experience new games

but if a person plays a lot of games these aren't worth it to grind

I have the Astro A50s they worked fine until this last update. Now only the mic works. No game or video sound comes though the headset. Factory reset both my xbox and the headset to no avail.

Are you on Alpha ring? I had a similar issue but it fixed itself somehow.

Hmm, purchased ME through MS/Xbox store on Edge on Xbox after clicking through the rebate, but the punchcard didn’t complete. It’s installing now, but when I go to the game through the store app on xbox there is a link still that says “Installing View in Queue” - OR - “Buy to Own” but then when I click the Buy button, it says I own it. Am I SOL on the punchcard or will it come through if I wait?

Mine took almost 5 days to show up, just keep an eye on it.

For me it took overnight to show up, if it doesn't show up in the next 48hrs you can always send a message to the rewards team and in my own experience they have been very responsive and good as long as you contact them while the punch card is still active, don't wait until it goes away or the very last day.

Confirmed - 360 achievements do count towards the May Gamerscore Challenge. I just got a cheevo in Lego Batman and it counted towards the 10,000 challenge and the daily 50 pts. I will test it when the weekly set comes again.

 
Don’t forget that 25% off Xbox boost on CashApp (up to $7.50). Can be used multiple times and you save the money right away. Used $20 of MS space bucks and the CashApp deal to preorder Biomutant for $32.50.

Also stocked up on PS funds $100 for $75 (used the CA deal four times at $18.50 for $25). Just can only be used once an hour but good until next Friday.

Even better than those rebates.

Didn't you say it didn't work for you? The other guy said he got the boost working on two codes, but not the third. So it seems more finicky than the PSN top-up at least.

I couldn’t get it to work on Xbox credit but it works on games. And worked on the preorder for Biomutant today. Just had to wait for it to be less than 10 days out.

Would work for 25% off on any other game for up to $7.50 off.

Yeah, you do but it’s not like signing up for a credit card. It’s just a debit card tied to your CashApp account. And you also get the number right away. Don’t need to wait for the physical card.

Then you add cash to use it. I only add money got each purchase after the discount so I know it works without getting overcharged. :)

It’s easy once you start doing it.

Most gamers (on any platform) don’t want Microsoft to buy up all the big companies because it would be a monopoly which ends up awful for consumers.

If there was no Nintendo or Sony the Series X would have been $100 more at launch and that Gold Price they tried putting to $120 would have actually went through.

Competition is always better for the consumer.

Must be why they hold back from capitalizing on all that fantastic IP they have hoarded...looking at you conkers sequel!

Honestly though, Xbox needs some premo family content...the millennials celebrating 20 years of xbox have kids now

hehe. I never played Conker, but I was always under the impression it was for older audiences.

I would love to see a proper Banjo game though.

I play a lot of Sea of Thieves and every once in a while I pick up on some music or something in game that resembles classic Rare.

Conker is a mature game for sure...didn't mean to mix up my thoughts like that.

I tried Banjo, the first and newest ones I believe. Really wanted to love it but the controls or something just seemed off for the original and the newest one for 360 was just too much going on for me to get into with my preschooler. I'd say Banjo could use a proper remake similar to what they did with Spyro or Spongebob. That exploration platformer style really works for our family game time.

Yeah make no mistake Conker is absolutely an adult oriented game lol. I'd love a new conker game though
 
Just reminding everyone that the last Conker game was a super cheap expansion to Project Spark that has since been removed from the storefront. It is straight up criminal how negligent MS has been with it's IPs.

 
So looks like at least portions of WB Games division and companies maybe going on sale again with the whole WB Media sell/merger. Time to hope and pray Microsoft gets to it before EA.

Thanks for the help with this. I used Bing points and the Cash App boost, so it was $18.75 oop. Now let’s hope it is as good a game as it looks!

Don’t see anything about the video game part of the company but AT&T will still own 71% of the new company and Discovery 29%. Guess we’ll see if the newly spun off company will spin off the video game stuff.

The Banjo games were primo (Italian for first) back in the N64 days, and they still hold up fairly decently to today's standards. But video game controls and graphics have both gotten much better in general. Banjo-Tooie also had a lot of adult humor, but nothing like Conker's BFD.

The same Rare team is long since gone, and I sadly don't think MS would ever approve of such a risky game with kid-friendly graphics in today's cancel culture society. There's always Rare Replay and lots of hard liquor...

 
Tried playing Call of the sea, really started to get into it but I can't continue past Chapter 2. It hard crashes my one x during a cutscene. Apparently, this is a known issue and still hasn't been fixed. Ugh.
