• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Road and Street - 2020 Toyota GP Supra had no issues.  Though if you use the Peugeot or Maserati for the sprint in the Road championship, it will knock out the first 2 parts of the weekly challenge.

Cross Country - 2018 Porsche Cayenne Turbo.  No problems with the point to point.  Had to run the circuits twice each to win them.  Just had a bad run on the one in Guanajuato.  For the one at the resort in the SW of the map, was leading until the very end when I botched the last jump, hit the side going into the finish and was overtaken at the last second.

Trial - First attempt in the eligible Porsche did not go well at all.  Got shoved inside the flag at the second checkpoint and by the time the game registered that I missed it (when it was live, it looked like I brushed it), my rewind put me too close to get a clean run through the checkpoint.  Rewind again, got through but was too far behind everyone else.  If dropping out would've secured a win for the rest, I would've quit, but the team still would've lost so I stuck around.  Second race didn't go much better, hit a big rock on the left of the track about 30% of the way through and finished 10th.

Second attempt, upgraded the 2019 Lambo Urus.  Got out in front around a third of the way through the first lap, then let someone in the Peugeot pass me right at the end of the first lap.  I'm fine coming behind another person in the Trial, and am content to run interference against the AI.  One person quit and the other teammates finished bottom 3, so lost the first race.  Team won the second race, I came in 3rd, with about two car lengths between the front bumper of #2 and the rear bumper of #4.  Third race, missed a checkpoint about a third of the way through the first lap.  Tight grouping, a lot of dust, going uphill and the flagged was blocked from my view.  Fell back to 10th, but managed to recover and get back up to 4th by the end.  Teammates finished top 2 and the other 2 dropped out, so took the Trial.

Treasure Hunt - Use a Rally Monster to hit 5 bulls eye targets.  Doesn't have to be center hits.  I did it during an Air Arcade event.  Only had 2-3 center hits among at least 5 targets and got the spot on the map.  People on the Forza forums were having trouble getting it to register, some tried blueprints.

on top of a tractor trailer outside the south entrance of the stadium.  Have fun getting to it.  I managed to break it with the Benz Tankpool racing truck.  Went up the ramp just next to it, and when the truck tilted to the side, it hit the chest enough to break it.  Tried getting on top of that trailer with a few other cars, but kept falling off, including in between the trucks.  One time I fell through the ground and it took a while before the game caught on and put me back on the map.

There were 2 other people in the Arcade session I was in who also went for the chest, and they also had trouble getting to it.

No problem with the photo challenge.  Got the car, fast traveled to the route icon, took pic.  Equipped the Banjo-Kazooie horn, and will probably keep it until they release the other BK horn.  Here's hoping they add a Click Clock Wood horn.

Top 30 Eliminator challenge is back, and the last daily challenge of the week is get 3 eliminations.  Yay.

Those two game plus the X-men Legends Series, Evil Dead games, Psi-Ops and Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks are some of the reasons I still have my original Xbox. Just wish I had the room to hook it up. It is in storage for now.

I think it became freeware on PC, though I question whether it would run right on modern Windows.

Remasters of some of Acti's old licensed games could be in order once the deal goes through. Especially with Disney licensing things on a game-by-game basis now instead of giving everything to one publisher.

I doubt it, this was just a statement to investors to try and save face for releasing a dumpster fire. Even considering the early date, 2042 had a full month before Infinite released, and while there were rumors for about a week, it was only officially announced immediately before release. 1 month is plenty of time to build and solidify an audience, and I doubt Halo had a meaningful effect on what is likely Battlefield's biggest platform of PlayStation. As far as I've experienced, the more hardcore Battlefield fans are pretty far away from Halo fans, the gameplay and aesthetics are miles apart.

If anything, you'd think they'd maybe consider not releasing their game in a horrible state and taking months to fix it. What's the streak of shit launches for DICE at now, 10 years?

BF4 > Battlefront 2 > BF1 > BFV > 2042

If something is going to change the average relationship of EA and MS, it would basically have to be Sony paying more for a deal exclusive to their platform or Spartacus. If they made more money with a separate EA Access, I don't think it'd be part of GamePass as is.

While I’ve preferred Battlefield/Battlefront to any other online shooter, EA has nothing to blame but themselves for doing poorly. I can’t remember the last time one of these games released without being a mess. The games end up turning up good if not great after another year or two but that’s the ass backwards way of doing things. That’s on them.

On TA, I've seen it suggested to start a party when playing 360 BC games to know if the BC connection to live drops resulting in non-timestamped achievements. Don't know if that might also apply when playing directly on a 360.

TA will count all achievements you unlock for your overall profile, but they won't count untimed achievements for things like contests, challenges and daily streaks.

Funny how EA’s quick to blame simultaneous release with Microsoft for their game not doing well but when they release Titanfall and Battlefield at the same time, it’s Titanfall’s fault for not having a “robust fan base”.

Like others have said, the relationship probably won’t end up changing unless Sony does a sneak attack with a better offer. The most that’ll probably change without leveling the landscape is that EA and Microsoft would coordinate releases so they don’t conflict as often. But with how petty society is nowadays, who knows?

I have a series s and a series x. The s is a great deal even for a 4k TV tho the image will be a little softer. Only issues for me are storage space and some games are 30fps vs 60 especially some of the Xbox one x enhanced titles. The two current enhanced games that are 30fps on series s are Cyberpunk and Deadlight 2. Both are 60fps on series x. I'm sure there are others.

Wait til your GPU has fully expired, redeem the Gold, then add a month of GPU to convert the whole thing to three years of GPU for $150 plus the cost of a month of GPU (if you have MS rewards points you can redeem for a month, you can do that, or just spend the $15; unless you’re really lucky and get the $1 for a month offer).

Worked for me in September. Has worked for others recently. Feels like it shouldn’t still work, but it does!

I was thinking it launched in October for some reason. Yeah, I guess it kinda ed them on Xbox, but I still don't think the effect would have been catastrophic on PS4/5 sales. I don't really know how influential the zeitgeist or Twitch buzz is on that playerbase.

Still, the obvious play would have been to not shit out a barely functional game, this has burned EA as a whole plenty of times, not just DICE. They also have basically shadow dropped a successful F2P game before with Apex Legends. I don't know that it can be anticipated but there were rumblings of some sort of November 15 drop for Halo for months before the rumors really kicked off.

ok i answered my own question so posting here for anyone who is wondering if it still works and how to do it.

I was able to do the 1:1 conversion from gold to Game pass ultimate.  Here's how.  

• I let my GPU lapse.  It's been like 5 days or so.
• I bought 3 years of Gold and redeemed them
• Then i used some microsoft rewards points (12k) to get 1 month of GPU and redeemed that code.  I'm assuming you can just pay the $14.99 but i had points so why not.  
• It told me something like "your gold will be converted at the current conversion rate" and  my next billing would be April 16 2025 (I have no idea why.. ) and to confirm.  The key for me was 2025.
• I confirmed and it asked me to Get A Free Month if i chose to autorenew.   It's defaulted to on.  I just left it on and thought "i know you can't get more than 36 months but maybe it'll work."
• My next billing date is Mar 21, 2025

The developers have said they expect more people will be able to finish the game. Not sure if it will be easier, but you’ll have more options of how you want to approach a fight. From some videos I’ve seen, they are keeping respawns closer to the bosses so you don’t have to slog through smaller enemies to get back to the boss fight. I’m looking forward to it and I’m not a souls fan, but I loved Sekiro and Bloodborne.
