• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Never seen Dethklok live. My disappointment in that they aren't coming near Arkansas is quite high.

I saw Dethklok on a tour with Mastodon and honestly that show was a little disappointing. They had the screen on stage showing animated stuff, but most of the stuff was pretty low budget, loops over basic pattern backgrounds, and the screen itself took a bit too much space on the stage for the small venue it was at. But this was 14(!) years ago so hopefully it's better this time.

Babymetal is very good live, I saw them back in 2016 I think.

I've seen them live a few times and nope, that's still a Dethklok show. Just Brendon Small and co. playing in near darkness while animation that accompanies the song plays behind them. Though animation is more intricate post Dethalbum I or so, but even then if you seen them live once then you're not missing too much there after. Though it also doesn't help that you saw them with Mastodon whom sound great, but stage presence isn't their forte as well.

Though really if you're a fan of the show it's worth going just to experience, but also on Roku there's a full Dethklok show from when they played at SDCC last year and yeah it's that same experience.

How is this on Microsoft exactly? Do you really think they are trying to sabotage the game on purpose or something? Arkane was a 3rd party studio when MS acquired them. MS delayed the game one year already. What do you want MS to do? Delay the game again?

I think covid really hurt a lot of studios and we are seeing the repercussions of that now, every major AAA game from every platform has been delayed. Making games ain't easy. Just take a chill. I've already said that people need to avoid trying to play games on launch day. People who play a game after it's been all patched up have a much better experience than people who play a game day 1. Just look at Cyberpunk 2077 for example. 3 years later it's like playing two different games and it's still continually being improved upon to this day.

Because Microsoft touts "day 1 on game pass" for all these titles and then they all seem to get delayed or broken at launch, usually both.

I think of the people who bought the "all access" xbox + game pass line of credit (yuck). What big day 1 exclusive titles did they get for their $300 of Game Pass compared to the trailers during the xbox series release window...Flight Sim, Forza Horizon 5 base, and Halo campaign?

There are many games on game pass, but I think they should downplay the day 1 angle because the expectations are set too high.

But also it's so weird to use that excuse for everything to be delayed still. Like the Nier anime had TWO delays supposedly due to COVID, and that's happening right now. Delayed indefinitely mid-season, no date set for it's return.

Maybe other jobs are a lot more in-person collaborative than I imagine, but I know if my company slowed down at all during the pandemic over the last three years, it would have been catastrophic. I get that the initial transition to remote work (if possible) sucked, and it messed up a lot of things, but how is that still impacting stuff like this three years later?

Hearing the band name Dethklok took me back. I went to the Ozzfest tour in 2012(I think) and was totally bummed Megadeth wouldn't be part of the tour Day One. So Dethklok subbed whom I had NEVER heard of before. Was a good show in the end. What y'all have described is totally how their performance was. Huge venue though

Just finished The Gunk. Took me a little over 5 hours. Didn't know it was made by the Steamworld Dig devs. I enjoyed it. A chill, discovery game that I could have subtitles on while I listened to podcasts in the background while playing

I do, been with the same place for about 16 years now. It's not the best or highest paying but it's been consistent and fairly low stress. Now I just wish I had done something different that made more money so she could have less stress in her life. For me, after much delaying, it's (probably well past) time I brought my sabbatical to an end and formally get my job search going. It's been a fun 16 months, but money's going to start becoming a problem. Dropped my taxes into today's mail. Didn't technically have to file since $0 income for 2022, but still wanted to get it on the record and have TurboTax backing me if someone decides to audit. (Had to snail mail because you can't e-file with the feds with no income.) ZeniMax is hiring in my area of expertise. "Why do you want to work here?" I've heard Japan was particularly hard hit by COVID restrictions due to the smaller average size of homes/apartments, and the general culture led to a lot of people not having a home PC, workspace, or real room to add one. I'm not sure if that's started to change now.

I'd also wager they're spreading themselves too thin as seems to be the norm in modern anime. A quick search makes it look like they probably have 4 or 5 projects in production at the same time as Nier. I definitely could see COVID being a factor for anime like this since scenes sometimes lean heavily on one or two people so getting sick at the wrong time could everything up.

Routinely pulled 24-30 hours shifts Monday into Tuesday herding cats to get the development trunk into a suitable state to deploy into testing. I coddled software engineers and quality engineers, letting code cutoffs slide a few hours, debugging things for them and fixing their bugs. My suggestions to improve things were disregarded, until someone else suggested them. And I put up with that BS for 7 years without a proper promotion because I liked the work and my coworkers, but was terminated anyway because my supervisor and department head thought I wasn't eating enough of their ****. Series hardware sales seem to be seriously lagging behind PS5 in various markets now that PS5 is readily available. So many complaints of "Xbox has no games". Microsoft needs to start delivering some bangers. Hi-fi Rush was a nice surprise. Hopefully there's more surprises at the June event.

Basically only available in the $18 a month Multi Access plan, which still centers around the PC as focal point with the XBox and mobile being a bonus and you don't get new releases day one like on PC nor premium editions as far as I can tell.

All 'software' is 50% off MSRP, first-party games (and some DLC) and subscriptions included. Most of the time, the Xbox sales are much better than this discount unless you want something that doesn't go on sale very often or not as deeply discounted. (See the pic from the other CAG thread I linked). Also I currently have a $226 max discount on my account at the moment which is where the 'finite' amount comes from, meaning I can only buy $226 worth of goods until it refreshes later this year (there's more FOMO later on as my discount gets closer to disappearing and it would be a waste not to utilize it somehow before the refresh)

I'm sort of getting cold feet discussing this openly since I'm not sure of the repercussions for "reselling" something at cost (again, see that link above but who's going to tattle ) but also because this is CAG where some SDers might be lurking, I get that icky feeling some lurkers/members might just want to take advantage and resell my generosity for a profit. Surely Ubisoft's (partial) library that is constantly on sale for like 80% off is appealing at a price higher than 400+ GamePass games right?

There doesn't appear to be any 360 games included, and it's not even the entire Xbox One library. Amazing pitch Ubisoft.

I'm just trying to understand what person plays Ubisoft games on their PC want to play on their XBox as well. Like I don't know who this is for at all especially with that price ($18???). Game Pass monthly is $15 a month or so on the norm and has random helpings of Ubisoft games and available to play on the Cloud and PC as well. Then again business hasn't been Ubisoft's strong point for awhile...

Yea it really hasn't been their strong suit for quite awhile. Ill definitely be passing and just sale buy what I want, I just cant imagine the gamer who would buy this?

Also anyone think AMEM may be worse or atleast equally as disfunctional since going to gamepass only? I've earned achievements in Ghostwire Tokyo and Loop Hero and haven't had it show up to redeem for points in the rewards part of gamepass but have had other games show up.

I was surprised by how good Tetris was. I like the Russians they made it fun to watch
