• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Seems to be a common problem with indie games from what I've seen combing through the sales every week. Tons of games with game breaking bugs listed in the reviews and the devs response is to just make it cheaper next time. As if a $6 broken game is somehow more okay than a $15 broken game. k

I went with the Series X version since they were the same price. I'm sure I'll be disappointed if I ever play it, but I'll sleep better at night with the superior port of the game in my backlog.

My random thoughts on what I'm playing:

I think I've done everything I'm going to do for Danganronpa V3. The post game board game/RPG mode is like an entire game in itself. The scenes with characters from all 3 games are actually very entertaining (Miu and Toko interacting is something else) but I don't want to sink any more time into it.

I want to finish the Diablo 4 battle pass before I shelve the game, but I'm finding it difficult to keep grinding. On the other hand, I'm easily finishing each Street Fighter 6 battle pass and end up playing it way more than I intend to when I hop on.

With Mortal Kombat 1 coming out, I decided to play some MK11 for the first time in a couple years or so. MK feels really strange when coming from SF6. Finding ranked matches was surprisingly fast for an older game. It took me a couple rounds to remember there's a block button. Despite years of rust, I managed to go 14-1 in my sets to unlock a couple brutalities I was missing. Newbie MK players are *bad*.

Despite what I said before, I'm probably going to end up preordering. My main Shang Tsung is looking sick. People are making a stink about Jean-Claude Van Damme's model but I think he looks pretty good (the original MK was supposed to be a licensed Bloodsport game).

I just finished Shadow of Mordor for a second time (thanks to Dell rewards for a free season pass).  Great game, despite some glitchy achievements

If anyone was wondering with Avengers being 3.99 this week, the disc of the game does give you the "Definitive Edition" when installed.  I was curious if any bonuses were included digitally but it appears no.  I'll keep my $1.50 GameStop copy in case I ever get around to playing it

It's the same for the Playstation version. I used my disc to install the game the other day and it gave me all of the definitive edition content as well.

Finished the UC Vanguard chain for the first time last night and oh so worth it. The armor set is apparently capped at 'Advanced' so no love for the Superior tier. I'm also a little concerned about how endgame works in Starfield because it would appear to me that enemies only get stronger as you level, but gear scaling caps around 60-ish since weapons don't have a Superior tier, just mods and perks to enhance them. This means that at a certain point, leveling anything but combat perks is actually negatively impacting progression in the sense that it takes longer to kill enemies and I'm starting to feel that. I tried swapping to very hard just to see how things went, and other than damage increased by enemies to the point I was one-shot once it just makes them bullet-sponges. Terrible, so I turned it off being a waste of time.

I hope they add the ability to have additional companions later on because my kill team was looking sick last night.

I'm working on the Freestar Rangers quest line and have been enjoying it so far. It is a nice low key detective quest. A friend of mine suggested I do the crimson fleet quest line next because of the gear you get and it is a fun quest line. He let me know what I need to get it started since its not a traditional way like some of the other faction quests.

The only reason I can think this is standard is to save money, which is a very dumb reason for a controller which has an almost $70 MSRP and hasn't dramatically changed in terms of parts in almost 10 years.

Ah, nothing really special, just usually review games or play my retro backlog, and i've been backlogged with switch/steam/ps4 reviews for a while, and with that settling down + a move coming up i figured renewing it on XSX after half a year of not having or using it would be handy for smaller scale stuff. Doom II and the Quakes, mainly, along with any indies that intrigue me.

...I also say I do like the xcloud feel on Steam Deck so being able to play when i'm away from my Xbox is nifty too.
