• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

For anyone that's got caught in Dell order limbo, how are you contacting Dell? I think a digital order I placed over the weekend is stuck.

For whatever reason, they put a hold on pretty much all digital item orders. In the past I chatted with their customer support and they gave me a phone number for order verification. I called the number and then later received an e-mail that said the hold was removed from the order. In the end the order was canceled anyway, so I stopped trying to order anything digital from Dell.

New Halo update out today. Like everything about it except that they're monetizing events (which are now "Operations" and last 4 - 6 weeks) in shitty ways.

Progress in events is now XP-based instead of just requiring completed challenges, with a $5 (in paid currency) Premium upgrade option for boosted XP and an extra available challenge. You can also pay an extra $15 (in paid currency) to autocomplete the Event Pass.

Event Passes also now take the place of the Battle Passes, so you can't level both and this season's Battle Pass is only available to free players for less than a month.

The kicker is that even if you don't buy the Premium upgrade for the Event Pass (which doesn't give you paid currency back like the Battle Pass) and complete it while it's live, there's still a paywalled item you won't be able to get without forking out money for an upgrade you won't benefit from.

Really hope the community wakes up and gives them some shit for this because I haven't seen any pushback.

It's lucky to go past the top 30 most played on console and it's stabilized around 3000 average players on Steam (which is lower than MCC on that platform).

They're going to milk the people spending money as hard as they can.

Of course, but they already have the paid battlepass (which is arguably pretty generous as it's not time-limited and gives you all the credit back) as well as the insanely priced cosmetics in the store. Events were there for FOMO before, but I guess they were willing to trade some of the FOMO of events for increased monetization. This is also supposed to be a flagship first-party title, not just your average f2p.

I could tolerate some of the changes, like the switch from challenge completions to XP is fair, paying for a optional "boost" and even letting people buy old event passes they missed is nice for people with more money than time but shortening seasons and paywalling event items is a bridge too far imo.

Hmm, I thought I just had that game either from PS+, Epic or Gold. Guess I remembered wrong. Games usually leave PS+ on the 17th so I missed it. Will have to see if it does come to Game Pass.

Anyone have issues with their Series S wifi connection? 

My console tells me there is no network connection when I put my network name and password in it kicks it back as incorrect.  It is 100 percent correct.  My series S and one s sit right next to each other but the one s has never had issues.  Also I am able to use my phones hotspot and the Series S connects no problem. I tried forgetting the network, hard resetting the console. only thing I have not tried which I will tomorrow is buy an ethernet cable and hard wire myself in.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Something else I would recommend is to try it out on Steam and get a refund within 2 hours of playtime and see how you like it before you drop $10 on the bundle. Just make sure you do keep track of the time though.

I think it's just too slow, 343 apparently totally out of their depth. Launched as a disaster, took a year to add Forge while wasting who knows how many resources on a feature that they scrapped before release. Going F2P makes no sense if your team can't actually support it with content, and a Halo game should launch fully featured.

Now that the playerbase has stabilized so low, I don't see them being able to get momentum even through they're finally adding a lot of Forge maps into matchmaking. Actual 343 content is coming at a glacier pace, they should probably be focusing on new weapons/gear since they're leaning on the community for maps. And as much as I like FireFight, it hasn't drawn huge numbers in the past.

I've downloaded the update and will be checking out the new content, but I'm unlikely to stick around over my usual multiplayer game of Fortnite, which has its Halloween content happening and is about to have a month of radical map changes bringing back stuff from 4 years ago.

Mentioned last week that the theme song for Endless Dungeon had me smittened and reviews put me over the top. Bought a (not exactly cheap) code for it on GameFlip and am absolutely loving it.

It’s a cross between twin-stick shooter, tower defense, a rogue-like and light resource management. Works brilliantly. Sort of sequel to Dungeon of the Endless, which I honestly could not get into and no need to pay it first.

I’m playing solo with a competent AI teammate but co-op is also supposed to work well.

Highly recommend it…though I know the cheap asses here will wait for a sale or GP while I temporarily tendered my CAG card to get it.

After having played trough Gotham Knights I decided to bite the bullet and bought the Arkham Collection which is currently on sale. Yikes, Arkham Knight is sooo jaggy it looks like a 360 game. I'm not sure I can do this. 

8 years later they are finally releasing a port for the Nintendo Switch.  A new patch was also recently picked up for the PC over on Steam after many years of inactivity possibly adding Ray Tracing.

My hope is that they have picked up some recent interest in the game and can at least make the game 1080p on consoles to clean up those jaggies and make the game 60fps. If anything it would buy WB some good will from fans before the release of Suicide Squad.

Finished Cocoon Monday and Lie of P yesterday. Both of these games are really good.

The puzzle aspect of Cocoon when it clicks is so great. What a well thought out game and excellent design. I missed a couple of collectibles but they were easy to get via post game clean up.

Lies of P is one of my favorites of the year. Took me about 50 hours to complete a play through. A really great designed world and interesting theme for a game. I really enjoyed the characters and the world building. The ending was great and I cannot wait to see what they do with the next game. That teaser at the end of the game was eye opening. This team has got something good going.

Now I'm going to move on and finally start Lords of the Fallen. Look like it was good to take my time and finish Lies of P before starting it because it has already received multiple patches.

I also picked up Pac-Man World Re-Pac $4.49 and Werewolf Apocalypse $5 (this one looks like dumb fun and werewolves) in the recent sale. Was considering Last Oricru but game play and reviews don't look that good for this one but I still may buy it for $5.
