• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
• On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Does anyone here ONLY have Game Pass Core? I'm trying to update my scripts to handle various pricing scenarios.

Aery - Last Day of Earth is currently flagged as on sale only for Game Pass Core, and the underlying store data shows that.

Caffeine: Victoria's Legacy and Seduce Me - The Complete Story both display on their store pages as being on sale for Game Pass members despite not being on Game Pass. The store data shows those discounts would be available to people with Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass and Game Pass Core. It's not explicitly included, but the discount also applies to those with Game Pass Ultimate. Can anyone with only GP Core see the discounted prices?

Dead Space Digital Deluxe Edition currently is discounted to $31.99 for everyone, but the store has the $7.99 price set for all Game Pass tiers - Core, Console, PC and Ultimate. Does that discount also show if you only have Core? Also, if you've been waffling, it's set to change price tomorrow morning.

I worked it out to put a list behind the discount percentage to show why it's on sale, like below. No indicators means it's on sale for all.

I could continue to flag GP Core only deals with a gold color, though I'm not sure how to handle the case of the visual novels above. Or should I drop the gold color for Core and only color code the major discounts (currently 80%+)? Could show the novels as (Game Pass, Core) for those cases. I really hope this issue gets addressed as it is a basic feature of other message boards I have used for almost 20 years.

are people really having this problem? every time i go to a thread that i have read before, it just goes to the newest post on its own. if there are no new posts or i haven't read it before it goes to the beginning but other than that no problems. that and there is literally a jump to new button right by the watch button if a thread has new posts.

It's more an issue with caching for anyone returning for the first time. It's not immediately obvious how the site works now because first use is wildly different from return visits as links direct to anything as far back as 19XX. Many decades old posts have been necro'd because people thought they were new, and the recommended posts also don't discriminate relevancy.

Wife and I put 10 hours into BG3 so far and honestly, GOTY must refer to how many horny singles voted for it. The game is good, but nothing mind-blowing. Major points for being the first game to break the maturity wall of full-time genitals as the only other games so bold were usually in brief, or Age of Conan allowing topless players. I hope this can be the new normal and get over this concept of sheltering kids/people. Can't stand censorship of any kind.

With that elephant out of the room, we found that Divinity II was actually more enjoyable as a DnD-lite without the deep, convoluted mess that is 5E. I appreciate it's for the true roleplayers but less is more in my estimation. Plenty of amazing games do this without need of deep rulesets and overwhelming well of spells and abilities. What's equally disproportionate is when it comes to combat, there really is a sense that the game won't even begin until level 12 when more actions are available per turn. As a vengeance paladin, some combat feels so painfully slow that our ranged party members might eliminate all enemies before I get a single swing in (or how often I miss). Obviously there's a lot here I'm not optimizing and without getting extremely sweaty, I likely never will.

That's where I draw a line between good and great games, in that deep systems are excellent if they feel accessible. BG3 is certainly not. I have more of a head for these types of games since you can clearly see the parallels drawn from others inspired by dice rolls but do it seamlessly in the background. However, I still feel incompetent in combat and bored during lengthy conversations back to back to back, especially when they involve multiple attribute checks woven throughout. We're also the honorless types that if we fail a roll, it's save scrub time if we don't like the result. You could argue the game isn't for me, but we loved Divinity II and blasted through that game. Somehow the pieces didn't come together for this one, at least early game.

In short, it's not the type of game I'd consider GOTY material when Divinity II didn't even so much as make a ripple when it released. I do think it piggybacks off the adult content and finding a market with women specifically, word of mouth also doing the heavy lifting. Strange year overall with a mountain of great games but I think I'll finish BG3 and try to squeeze in Sea of Stars to cap it off.

You are like 7% into a playthrough unless you are mainlining only. Maybe get a bit farther in the game before shitting on it as though you have a full grasp of the game. People don't love it solely based on the DND 5e mechanics layered on top of everything. It's the complete package. The insane degree that the game adapts to your actions in both the story and the combat. The presentation. How much of a joke it makes the RPG aspects of AAA WRPGs look in comparison.

The "horny" factor of the game is a tiny fraction of the big picture. It's absolutely catching the former Bioware audience and so it's talked about a lot. Mainstream games have really avoid nudity and actual sex scenes until the last 3 or 4 years, it is not surprising its being talked about a lot here, especially with the variety and freedom here when compared to the other games "sex scenes" games, Cyberpunk or TLOU2.

I agree with most of what Jodou after a 30 hour playthrough before dropping it. At what point are we allowed to have an opinion? 10 hours was plenty to understand what the game was offering, especially for people who have played other CRPGs before. Who care how it compares to WRPGs when it should be compared to other CRPGs where I find the QoL and gameplay lacking in BG3. The presentation is nice and all, but that isn't the only thing that makes for a GOTY RPG.

30 feels more reasonable than in this game than 10. 1 hour to make a character, maybe an hour on the Nautiloid, and then what, level 3? It's just not very far into the game and probably only the first few companions. I'm not saying 10 is too short to know its not for you, rather it's not really enough to truly judge the game. Most of the people I've seen bounce off the game play for much less than that. Like 1-2 hours after character creation.

I know the game is technically a CRPG, but the overall presentation of the combat and story of the game is much close to WRPGs due to the AAA budget, especially when played with a controller rather than the isometric point and click style. Fully voice acted, actual cutscenes, highly detailed environments that you can actually see. In this regard, it's so far ahead of anything in the genre besides DOS2 that it's hard to compare. When talking about this game I'm much more likely to compare it to Dragon Age Origins than something like Pillars of Eternity.

Used Back Market to trade/ sell my One S after someone here mentioned it. Pretty happy with the experience as long as the payout comes in this week. They sent me the shipping label all I had to do was box it up. Got to refurbisher in Two days and they approved the full trade in offer ($137) next day. Was going to wait until they pay to send the Series S in for their offer of $166. But wife put it up on FB Marketplace for $200 yesterday and sold it instantly (got it from Best Buy last year on sale for $229). So $337 towards the $349 I payed for the Series X isn't too shabby.

Hello all, finally logged into the new site. Looks pretty sweet. I wish to share my disappointment with the rewards system being phased out at some point soon. It seems like the earn an achievement in a gamepass game is still broken? I did get a bunch of delayed points yesterday or friday but it didn’t seem like it was enough. I became aware of the recent Dead Space Remaster. I had been playing it on my Xbox 360 (which I have not turned on in years!) some years ago but never finished it. I enabled cross-save on BG3 on my Series X and now the game crashes when trying to launch the game. I’ve heard there’s been some issues with saves being lost so while I was wanting to continue on my PS5 for a while, I also was using cross-save as a backup. Urghhh…

May have to reinstall BG3.

Reddit is stating 2 min before but some conflicting posts. Regardless of when it went live, I didn't see anything. I guess I should try my laptop next week and just risk the ban. I wish I knew how to get the Series X or any series console at this point as quick as everyone else does. All I have ever seen is the $10 card which I was able to redeem. This restock however, those were gone in like 2 seconds. There are more than 800 of them. No idea how they went so quickly.

Has anyone here played through Mass Effect Andromeda multiple times? One of my goals for next year is to finish it. However, my dilemma is that I have about 35 hours in it since I last touched it in Jan 2020 but I don't remember anything about it other, including character relations or what their backstories are. I figured because the game is kind of mediocre, I should just power through to the end; that way if I liked it enough, I might just replay it as female Ryder and roleplay differently. Debating on whether or not I should try to complete all the side quests if I do decide to go through with it though.

Has anyone here played through Mass Effect Andromeda multiple times? One of my goals for next year is to finish it. However, my dilemma is that I have about 35 hours in it since I last touched it in Jan 2020 but I don't remember anything about it other, including character relations or what their backstories are. I figured because the game is kind of mediocre, I should just power through to the end; that way if I liked it enough, I might just replay it as female Ryder and roleplay differently. Debating on whether or not I should try to complete all the side quests if I do decide to go through with it though.

I'd be playing on PC.

It ends on a cliffhanger and the primary plot revolves around one very clear antagonist and one very clear target of that antagonist. The best thing about that game is the combat, I say read a Wikipedia summary of the story, pick up where you left off, and just enjoy the ride.

Using a guide might also help figure out which side quests are worth doing. I would say all of the ones that are for team members are with your time, since they unlock additional abilities or have other perks.

I've said it before, but if Andromeda was just a new IP and not a sequel to some of the greatest games ever made, people would have liked it a lot more. It's greatest sin was not being Mass Effect 2 or 3 and if it had gotten a sequel, I think a sequel could have been great.

I got in on the Doritos promo last night. I saw the $50 and $10 gift cards, but have already redeemed them in previous weeks. (Never hurts to try, I suppose) So I got a copy of Starfield. I was 8 points short of getting anything else. Might have to pick up some Doritos and Dew this week to have enough for Forza next week.

I also got my code for Starfield in about 1 hour last night. Redeemed it this morning before showering and heading to work.
