[CUSTOMSPOILER="General Info"]
Q. What is MyPunchcard?
A. MyPunchcard is a part of the Xbox LIVE Rewards program open to all members. Through MyPunchcard, Xbox LIVE Rewards members can get rewarded for performing a specific set of actions outlined in the Punchcard for each offer. Once all punches are earned on a specific Punchcard, get rewarded!

Q. Who is eligible for MyPunchcard?
A. All Xbox LIVE Rewards members are eligible to participate in MyPunchcard. To start earning punches for completing specific actions, join Xbox LIVE Rewards now for free if you haven’t already: http://rewards.xbox.com.

Q. How does MyPunchcard work?
A. Each Punchcard has a set amount of punches required in order to complete it. Once a specific action is completed and a punch is earned, it can take up to 96 hours for it to appear on the MyPunchcard page. Xbox LIVE Rewards members are only eligible to receive a Reward once all punches have been earned and the entire Punchcard is complete. There is a limit of one Reward per one completed Punchcard, unless otherwise noted.

Q. Where can I find the available Punchcards?
A. To check out the available Punchcards, log into the Xbox LIVE Rewards site and visit the MyPunchcard page. The amount of available Punchcards each month will vary.

Q. Do Punchcards expire?
A. Yes. Once a Punchcard expires, no further punches will be provided for actions completed after that date. Expiration dates for each Punchcard vary and are listed on the MyPunchcard page found here.

April's PlaytoEarn Punchcard
Check your status - May take 3-5 days to update
XBLA DLC purchases do not count toward the April Punchcard - source

Cornelius's list of sources for last-minute XBLA purchase ideas:
  • The Wikipedia page for XBLA releases, sorted by MSP.
  • Xbox.com's sorted list of best-selling XBLA titles.
  • Major Nelson's most-recent list of top 20 XBLA games purchased.
  • The Twisted Pixel bundle ... seriously, it's 3600 MSP worth of games for 800 MSP!
  • The DOTW for April 30th, listed on our OP, as well as Major Nelson's blog, which will go live around 4/30 @ 2am PDT, and be valid for 14-15 hours up through the promo's deadline between 4pm-5pm'ish PDT (depending how they've configured the reporting servers to account for GMT).
Note I was going to also suggest the "Angry Birds Trilogy" sale starting 4/30, but since it's a GoD title, it doesn't count.
  • Games your friends have picked up. Use the "Compare Games" feature on their profile, which will list their games in order of most-recently played by default.
  • Atari-published games, which you should assume will get de-published as soon as its game licenses/IP are sold off in bankruptcy court.
  • Games NOT found on compilation discs, because you can often find them "cheap" on eBay or used-game retailers. See this XBLA thread post (under "XBLA Discs") for more info & lists.
  • And finally, TylerH1701's list of XBLA games yet to go on sale
Hope this helps anyone's last-minute purchase dilemma. ;)

FAQ:
_________________________________________________

Q: So what is this and how much does it cost?
A: Xbox Rewards is a free loyalty program run by ePrize for the Microsoft Corporation. They offer free and Gold Xbox Live members "rewards" for completing survey, making qualified purchases, or other actions during a specified period.

Q: Where do I start?
A: You should start by reviewing the official FAQ. Once you are done there, and you have decided to join, you are ready to start earning rewards.

Q: I never got my reward for my first purchase after joining the rewards program?
A: According to the official FAQ. You will only earn that reward for your first purchase from the marketplace ever. If you made a purchase before joining the program, you are out of luck.

Q: I never got my reward for activating Netflix after joining the rewards program?
A: According to the official FAQ and some discussion with @XboxSupport You will only earn that reward for the first time you ever activate Netflix on your specific gamertag. If you did that before joining the program, you are out of luck. If you are still good, you have to have had Netflix activated for 1 month and have watched 2+ hours of streaming content during that time period.

Q: When will this end?
A: According to the official T&C, the program is scheduled to end at 3:59 p.m. GMT on June 30, 2012. It is possible that the program will be renewed or go after that, but there hasn't been more info on that yet.

Q: Will my Xbox LIVE Rewards Points expire?
A: Rewards Points do expire, so be sure to use them by June 30, 2012.

Q: How do I use my expiring Microsoft Points first?
A: Promotional points with expiration dates are automatically redeemed first before purchased points. [source]

So the people who purposely used an exploit in March to get free points have no action taken against them, but the innocent people who didn't do anything get the points taken away. Good logic Microsoft.
Yup checking on the billing.microsoft.com site you can see the addition of points and the removal. I do have more points then yesterday but my activity looks just the same as Surreal_Shunshine.

Might want to show that to the twitter xboxsupport guys.
The only response you'll get now is "We don't have any info on that topic"

Yep great job Microsoft.

awesome, i think i spent all the extra points they gave me... now here's to hoping there's no way they can make my account have negative msp :/
This is going to make a lot of people pretty angry especially since they said we could keep them.
I wouldn't have cared if they didn't say they weren't going to be revoked. Now I'm pissy.

On the xboxsupport twitter page somebody sent a them a similar picture that Sunshine posted so maybe something will happen but I doubt it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the liars at Microsoft put you in a negative balance because you bought stuff with those points.

Nah, there's no way...Not with XboxSupport having gone on record saying the points were ours.
Nah, there's no way...Not with XboxSupport having gone on record saying the points were ours.
Yeah, because that totally stopped them from revoking them in the first place.
i wouldn't have cared if they didn't say they weren't going to be revoked. Now i'm pissy.
+1

Trying not to get upset and rather take the easy come easy go attitude but it's kinda hard when I thought for sure we were keeping them.
Yeah, because that totally stopped them from revoking them in the first place.
Yeah but revoking an error and making you pay money for an error on their part are two entirely different things. Taking the points back is not as huge a deal as making someone pay back a debt created by Microsoft's mistake.

Also, XboxSupport tweeted that what's going on is entirely automated. The system is fixing itself, XboxSupport didn't say we could keep the points then take them away.

Well my extra points are gone also. I had 1310 originally but used 800 of the points from today for outland, they only took the leftover points and left my original amount. I was expecting to see them subtract the 800 from my original points.

I don't get why so many of you are whining over some damn points that were accidentally put into your account and then they took them back. Grow up already....

This is from another site:

"I just talked to MS when I noticed that my account had jumped a little over 5000MS. The rep told me that the promo points have been escalated and the matter will be resolved within 72 hours. I ask what they were doing if I had already spent them. The reps answer was that MS is planning on handling the matter is five phases.

1- If the points weren’t spent then they are just going to remove them from the accounts that got them.
2- If the points were spent leaving a zero or negative balance of points and there is a credit card on file, then they are going to bill for the points used.
3- If there is no credit card on file, they plan on sending out an E-mail “demanding” payment.
4- If there is no credit card on file and the “demand” for payment goes unanswered then they “may” subtract months of gold membership that equal the amount of points used.
5- If there is still a negative balance then they plan on banning the console and the account until it is no longer negative. This one she said at least three times."
And suddenly I'm glad I didn't get any points!
^This. Especially since I would have spent them almost as soon as I got them.
Oh boy, the cry babies are going to come out of the woodwork now.
o_O

I agree that for people who hadn't yet spent the points (like me), easy come easy go, but for people who have spent them already, it seems cruel and unusual to then charge them full RRP for those points, directly through their credit cards. :/

I know I would be FURIOUS if I had been given these points, I was told they were mine to keep, I spent them, and then I was charged for them - and charged at a rate of $5 per 400 points.
And suddenly I'm glad I didn't get any points!
I feel sorry for all the people who spent a few thousands

I assume the site you got that from is bs.

Now way in hell are you going to get those points back. I just called and bitched to microsoft as much as i could. They're nothing like amazon. fucking a
I feel sorry for all the people who spent a few thousands
Yeah, if that stuff is true and they actually do start charging people it's gonna be a shitstorm that I'm glad I won't be a part of.

If they do charge me, I will fight it tooth and nail. At least at the base rate, since they stated we could have the points.
Oh good, we're reposting very unlikely info from trolls on another forum. That's what this thread needs.
Yes, instead we should just listen to Microsoft's statements.

"The points you were rewarded are yours."

Hmmm....
Is it wrong to quote yourself?

I was going to try to find your quote and congratulate you but you already did it. You are wise man. :applause:
Oh good, we're reposting very unlikely info from trolls on another forum. That's what this thread needs.
...I'm eating my words now because I just called xbox support on billing. And a sweet lady answered, couldn't bring myself to give the third degree about the points because she was super nice. But as she finished talking she said there was an error in the system and hold off on purchasing with any points you're not sure you earned because you will be charged for them :/
those of you who spent points might want to call microsoft and get things straight.

lol. So you'll instead listen to a guy who claims his source is Microsoft. This world would be a better place if people were capable of rational thinking.

I guess people have learned a valuable lesson about anonymous Twitter posts (and Microsoft). "If things are too good to be true."

Are you saying @XboxSupport is just someone pretending to be Microsoft? They are really fucking dedicated, then! https://twitter.com/#!/XboxSupport

May I congratulate you on your "rational thinking". :applause:
You don't seem to understand so I'll try to explain it more clearly.

You said that Microsoft's statements shouldn't be trusted. You instead seem to think that a guy WHO CLAIMS HE GOT HIS INFORMATION FROM MICROSOFT is more trustworthy. Apparently some unnamed random guy on the internet is a magical filter that makes the MS statements believable.

If you need more explanation, let me know, I have some puppets that can act it out.

just got off the phone with support. Guy said they haven't said anything about charging people who already spent points. They are in fact removing the points manually and he said if no card is attached then there is no way that Microsoft can charge you for things already bought. He said the thing about charging people is a rumor and nothing has been said by his higher ups.

I am not saying that. What I am saying is everyone is up in arms about that Twitter post as if it's a legally binding contract. Instead, it was likely a mistake by a Twitter support drone who isn't the boss who would have to write the check for the multiplying points error.

I don't think it's right, but if people really didn't see this coming, then shit.

I am completely fine with them removing points that were added which are just left sitting there, but if they try and start charging people for stuff bought with the points I will be extremely upset with them. I hoped on saw I had points and bought a map pack. If they try and charge me $10 based on their mistake I will fight it tooth and nail. No need to punish people because no one did anything wrong. No one exploited anything or anything like that.

I can show that MS are lying or making incorrect statements (see above). I have nothing to show that the person who claimed to have contacted Microsoft is lying (sorry if you provided some evidence that shows that they are, and I somehow skipped past it - I'm guessing you've at least looked into it, as you seem to know that they are male). We've since had a CAGger, leylines, make the same claim. Based on that, it would seem logical that the latter is more reliable, surely?
