Q. What is MyPunchcard?
A. MyPunchcard is a part of the Xbox LIVE Rewards program open to all members. Through MyPunchcard, Xbox LIVE Rewards members can get rewarded for performing a specific set of actions outlined in the Punchcard for each offer. Once all punches are earned on a specific Punchcard, get rewarded!

Q. How does MyPunchcard work?
A. Each Punchcard has a set amount of punches required in order to complete it. Once a specific action is completed and a punch is earned, it can take up to 96 hours for it to appear on the MyPunchcard page. Xbox LIVE Rewards members are only eligible to receive a Reward once all punches have been earned and the entire Punchcard is complete. There is a limit of one Reward per one completed Punchcard, unless otherwise noted.

Q. Where can I find the available Punchcards?
A. To check out the available Punchcards, log into the Xbox LIVE Rewards site and visit the MyPunchcard page. The amount of available Punchcards each month will vary.

April's PlaytoEarn Punchcard
Check your status - May take 3-5 days to update
XBLA DLC purchases do not count toward the April Punchcard - source

Cornelius's list of sources for last-minute XBLA purchase ideas:
  • The Wikipedia page for XBLA releases, sorted by MSP.
  • Xbox.com's sorted list of best-selling XBLA titles.
  • Major Nelson's most-recent list of top 20 XBLA games purchased.
  • The Twisted Pixel bundle ... seriously, it's 3600 MSP worth of games for 800 MSP!
  • The DOTW for April 30th, listed on our OP, as well as Major Nelson's blog, which will go live around 4/30 @ 2am PDT, and be valid for 14-15 hours up through the promo's deadline between 4pm-5pm'ish PDT (depending how they've configured the reporting servers to account for GMT).
Note I was going to also suggest the "Angry Birds Trilogy" sale starting 4/30, but since it's a GoD title, it doesn't count.
  • Games your friends have picked up. Use the "Compare Games" feature on their profile, which will list their games in order of most-recently played by default.
  • Atari-published games, which you should assume will get de-published as soon as its game licenses/IP are sold off in bankruptcy court.
  • Games NOT found on compilation discs, because you can often find them "cheap" on eBay or used-game retailers. See this XBLA thread post (under "XBLA Discs") for more info & lists.
  • And finally, TylerH1701's list of XBLA games yet to go on sale
Hope this helps anyone's last-minute purchase dilemma. ;)

FAQ:
_________________________________________________

Q: So what is this and how much does it cost?
A: Xbox Rewards is a free loyalty program run by ePrize for the Microsoft Corporation. They offer free and Gold Xbox Live members "rewards" for completing survey, making qualified purchases, or other actions during a specified period.

Q: Where do I start?
A: You should start by reviewing the official FAQ. Once you are done there, and you have decided to join, you are ready to start earning rewards.

Q: I never got my reward for my first purchase after joining the rewards program?
A: According to the official FAQ. You will only earn that reward for your first purchase from the marketplace ever. If you made a purchase before joining the program, you are out of luck.

Q: I never got my reward for activating Netflix after joining the rewards program?
A: According to the official FAQ and some discussion with @XboxSupport You will only earn that reward for the first time you ever activate Netflix on your specific gamertag. If you did that before joining the program, you are out of luck. If you are still good, you have to have had Netflix activated for 1 month and have watched 2+ hours of streaming content during that time period.

Q: When will this end?
A: According to the official T&C, the program is scheduled to end at 3:59 p.m. GMT on June 30, 2012. It is possible that the program will be renewed or go after that, but there hasn't been more info on that yet.

Q: Will my Xbox LIVE Rewards Points expire?
A: Rewards Points do expire, so be sure to use them by June 30, 2012.

Q: How do I use my expiring Microsoft Points first?
A: Promotional points with expiration dates are automatically redeemed first before purchased points. [source]

Haha what do you do at 23 years old that allows you to spend over $1200 this year on digital content alone?!
I work near the ports in Jersey. I also take advantage of any somewhat decent Xbox Live credit stuff. If some content goes on sale I tend to buy it. My backlog is so huge...

"Kiss the ring" sort of work? ;)

Edit to add: It's your fault so many ghost editions of Destiny ended up cracked, isn't it? Someone didn't pay their protection fees! Ha!

Did you still have leftover credit transitioned over from MSP to currency for some of those purchases, perhaps...? I recall a lot of confusion over how some/most weren't getting taxed for purchases when they were using the old "money."

So if I go all digital and buy nothing but Points/Live Credit with my Amazon and what not rewards do those count? Or is it straight to CC purchases? I plan on going digital with 90%+ of my purchases anyways. Going Digital next gen is so easy to do this time around. Of course it's being more expensive in the sense you can't trade in titles, or u get banned or the next system isn't forwards compat (which in that case, probably just buy a few hard copies of games when they get dirt cheap for the must haves.)

I am 99.9% sure that the leftovers were used up. Here's a list. Does it matter if you say buy a card off of Newegg and redeem the code versus paying with a credit/debit card on Live?

Were you in the same place for all purchases? Just a guess but it could be based on your IP. If I drive five minutes to the city next to me the sales tax drops to 6% from 7.5%. Also when I look at the last logins on my gmail if I've been using a cell connection the IP is from a major city that is hours away. Just a random thought.

Been a live member since 2007, spent probably over a thousand on digital things from subscriptions to digital games to dlc, had an xbox one since day one, buy things digitally on there as well.....Level one with 49% remaining to level 2. Thanks Microsoft

The new look for the rewards site is interesting. Problem is, I forget to go there every month and so my survey or check on anything.

I wish it was integrated into the console interface some how...

I wonder how they calculated how many stars we should already have? In the past year I've spent $250. I have two stars, and according to my overall progression I have spent around $450.

If they traced back to when I joined Xbox Live Rewards then my progress seems a bit closer to what I have spent. Though I think in that case my progress ends up being a little short.

It could be a coincidence, but my non-Gold rebate tier for MyVIP is equal to my MyAchievements rebate tier. Maybe we started off at where our MyAchievements was at, then they added what money we spent in the past couple months. Is there anyone with 75,000 gs who doesn't have three stars? That would rule out this theory.

Also, I'm sure anything we spent before joining Xbox Live Rewards had no chance of being applied. Subscriptions like Xbox Live Gold won't count either. Only game content and video content. Basically the things in the marketplace that can be bought with Xbox credit; things we get MyAchievements credits for.

I can safely say that's not the case. I'm at "Legend" status (the 3rd tier MyAchievements level for having 25k in gamerscore), meanwhile MyVIP status is at 1-star.

Btw where is everyone getting these tidy numbers from? I'm looking at commerce.microsoft.com and I'm just seeing individual purchase totals; no grand summaries, not even total tax numbers.

going back to tax talk, when viewing all the transactions starting back in January and clicking each expandable purchase, for the most part they all say the same "State (4.00 %) County (2.00 %) Local (2.00 %)"
...but then there's just a handful of oddballs:
* my lone movie rental which has State as 3% and everything else is the same
* an Arcade title where State is 3.7% then County & Local are both 2.1%
* a DLC where the State is getting 4.8% while the other categories are at 1.6%
* spider man 2 DLC is all over the place even though I purchased me consecutively during a sale, the first and third purchases have taxes of 3.7% / 2.2% / 2.2% meanwhile a purchase in between those two was charged my normal tax numbers
* and the best one of all, where an avatar prop simply has "State .30%" tax with no County or Local taken

...wow, just wow. Keep it together already, Mr Taxman.

Master here with 0 stars. Not sure where they're grabbing the numbers on that. Pretty sure I've spent at least $150...

I just signed up for this last week.  I have been on xbox live since Halo 2 came out.  Do those old purchases count, or is it just purchases going forward?  Shows me with zero points/credits.

This "stars" system is apparently sorta'-kind-annual and will reset... at some point, but it definitely wasn't calculated prior to this year's digital purchases.

If you just signed up for rewards then your counter hasn't picked up anything yet. XBR tends to go month-to-month.

Not sure if there is a new thread for this or not .. I can't find the survey for this month on the rewards site. Anyone got a direct link?

This happened before and I missed it for a month (the only one I've missed since I joined the program). No idea what the hell is going on.

I am only  200 point away from hitting the 5000 credits. Has taken forever since they don't appear to count my xbox live renewal if you use a card and the surveys are few and far between. I just noticed that they now give points for playing games with gold. 10 hours gets you 1000 points. Does anyone know how the track time played? Could I pretty much just load the game up and leave it sitting for a while?

They track when you play games for gold. Once you play 10 hours you get 1000 credits. If you buy any add on for the games for gold you get 2000 more credits. Fine print says it must be in the first two weeks of the announcement (I would assume that means when the item goes free)

Does anyone know if this counts if you already have the game? Like, after it goes free can I play SSX which I bought already for 10 hours and still get the credits? I would assume no, but just thought I'd ask.
