[CUSTOMSPOILER="General Info"]
Q. What is MyPunchcard?
A. MyPunchcard is a part of the Xbox LIVE Rewards program open to all members. Through MyPunchcard, Xbox LIVE Rewards members can get rewarded for performing a specific set of actions outlined in the Punchcard for each offer. Once all punches are earned on a specific Punchcard, get rewarded!

Q. Who is eligible for MyPunchcard?
A. All Xbox LIVE Rewards members are eligible to participate in MyPunchcard. To start earning punches for completing specific actions, join Xbox LIVE Rewards now for free if you haven’t already: http://rewards.xbox.com.

Q. How does MyPunchcard work?
A. Each Punchcard has a set amount of punches required in order to complete it. Once a specific action is completed and a punch is earned, it can take up to 96 hours for it to appear on the MyPunchcard page. Xbox LIVE Rewards members are only eligible to receive a Reward once all punches have been earned and the entire Punchcard is complete. There is a limit of one Reward per one completed Punchcard, unless otherwise noted.

Q. Where can I find the available Punchcards?
A. To check out the available Punchcards, log into the Xbox LIVE Rewards site and visit the MyPunchcard page. The amount of available Punchcards each month will vary.

Q. Do Punchcards expire?
A. Yes. Once a Punchcard expires, no further punches will be provided for actions completed after that date. Expiration dates for each Punchcard vary and are listed on the MyPunchcard page found here.

Q. I completed a Punchcard! How do I claim my Reward?
A. If the Reward is Microsoft Points, they will appear under Pending on your MyRewards page by the 15th of the following month. If the Reward is anything other than Microsoft Points, an email will be sent to your contact email listed here with instructions to redeem your Reward. The Rewards for completion of a Punchcard will vary with each Punchcard offer. Rewards will not be provided during the Punchcard offer period.

April's PlaytoEarn Punchcard
Check your status - May take 3-5 days to update
XBLA DLC purchases do not count toward the April Punchcard - source

Cornelius's list of sources for last-minute XBLA purchase ideas:
  • The Wikipedia page for XBLA releases, sorted by MSP.
  • Xbox.com's sorted list of best-selling XBLA titles.
  • Major Nelson's most-recent list of top 20 XBLA games purchased.
  • The Twisted Pixel bundle ... seriously, it's 3600 MSP worth of games for 800 MSP!
  • The DOTW for April 30th, listed on our OP, as well as Major Nelson's blog, which will go live around 4/30 @ 2am PDT, and be valid for 14-15 hours up through the promo's deadline between 4pm-5pm'ish PDT (depending how they've configured the reporting servers to account for GMT).
Note I was going to also suggest the "Angry Birds Trilogy" sale starting 4/30, but since it's a GoD title, it doesn't count.
  • Games your friends have picked up. Use the "Compare Games" feature on their profile, which will list their games in order of most-recently played by default.
  • Atari-published games, which you should assume will get de-published as soon as its game licenses/IP are sold off in bankruptcy court.
  • Games NOT found on compilation discs, because you can often find them "cheap" on eBay or used-game retailers. See this XBLA thread post (under "XBLA Discs") for more info & lists.
  • And finally, TylerH1701's list of XBLA games yet to go on sale
Hope this helps anyone's last-minute purchase dilemma. ;)

FAQ:
_________________________________________________

Q: So what is this and how much does it cost?
A: Xbox Rewards is a free loyalty program run by ePrize for the Microsoft Corporation. They offer free and Gold Xbox Live members "rewards" for completing survey, making qualified purchases, or other actions during a specified period.

Q: Where do I start?
A: You should start by reviewing the official FAQ. Once you are done there, and you have decided to join, you are ready to start earning rewards.

Q: I never got my reward for my first purchase after joining the rewards program?
A: According to the official FAQ. You will only earn that reward for your first purchase from the marketplace ever. If you made a purchase before joining the program, you are out of luck.

Q: I never got my reward for activating Netflix after joining the rewards program?
A: According to the official FAQ and some discussion with @XboxSupport You will only earn that reward for the first time you ever activate Netflix on your specific gamertag. If you did that before joining the program, you are out of luck. If you are still good, you have to have had Netflix activated for 1 month and have watched 2+ hours of streaming content during that time period.

Q: When will this end?
A: According to the official T&C, the program is scheduled to end at 3:59 p.m. GMT on June 30, 2012. It is possible that the program will be renewed or go after that, but there hasn't been more info on that yet.

Q: Will my Xbox LIVE Rewards Points expire?
A: Rewards Points do expire, so be sure to use them by June 30, 2012.

Q: How do I use my expiring Microsoft Points first?
A: Promotional points with expiration dates are automatically redeemed first before purchased points. [source]
Yeah, isn't that nuts? I saw talk in their forums (& in our own XBL deal of the week thread) about double-bonuses for renewing expiring subscriptions, but it was mentioned that the US wasn't included.

I had tweeted them last week and said I was hoping they'd announce this month's awards before I went to work, and they responded with a laugh and that "We'll have news about more May rewards soon." Apparently "soon" is a very subjective term.
From 22hrs ago on twitter:

Shame they won't be having that bonus for renewing. I have a 12-month card laying around I would use. However, I'm sure there'd be a lot of backlash for that one.

Bummer. I wonder what Microsoft will think in comparison. I'm sure they made a pretty hefty chunk of change due to last month's punchcards and I see very few people gunning for this month's punchcard.

I was slightly interested until I saw you need to spend at least 1,000 MSP per punch. $62 to get $12 back isn't really that great unless you have a lot of MSP to blow. I know at least some cags still have some black friday 1600 cards laying around haha.

Silver lining-hopefully they won't try something so horribly meager again, as there is no way this will get much participation. It requires 5,000 msp spent on tv shows or movies...

Remember when deal of the week first started-fucking avatar and theme discounts. They'll wise up, I hope...

Before all is said and done, I'm sure we'll get one for using their XBox Music service.

Huge disappointment to say the least. They start off w/ something potentially great, then ruin it with this mess. Never purchased movies from LIVE, and don't plan to start. I rather spend 5000 MSP on games and DLC...I mean after all the 360 is a gaming console.

The Xbox Live Rewards MyPunchcard for this month is pretty disappointing compared to last month's promotion which I took full advantage of. I seriously doubt I am going to spend 5000 Microsoft Points ($62.50 MSRP) on digital content from Xbox Video. I sincerely hope that the next MyPunchcard actually involves Xbox Live Arcade games or DLC for Xbox 360 games.

To make matters worse this video thing takes up two months. Sure fire way to kill XBOX rewards. I'm also wondering if this is indication as to the next XBOX reveal really focusing moreso on Television than games? (is it coincidence that XBOX reveal is in May and all of a sudden the May punch-card is 100% TV/movies?). Epic failure all around...

Oh well. I rarely spend much online anyway, but I did go for all 3 punch cards for last month (would have liked a DLC deal or something this month). Anyway, wonder when we'll hear anything about actually getting our rewards from that?
fuck it, im out...on this note, does anyone legitimately use xbox's video service???
I do and it's not bad! The only issue I had was their posting of Sons of Anarchy (just took too long for my comfort).

At the time I didn't have my living room set up where my Bigger tv was the main screen for television watching (it was meant for games only, damnit! Lol) but I came home and I found my girlfriend had rearranged and put her small tv in the bedroom downstairs and my tv in its place.

Anyway, so I have watched many movies and tv shows thru their service and it is like any paid streaming service. You just pay to watch what you want instead of the monthly fee. Also you have a larger selection.

Edit: also on the note of the punchcard, I am probably out on this one as well. I don't think I am going to spend 5000 msp on video purchases this month.
fuck it, im out...on this note, does anyone legitimately use xbox's video service???
My sister does since it's cheaper than her cable provider's VOD service, and she doesn't abuse the Internet like I do.

She also has no idea what "Xbox Rewards" is, and I imagine most people that use Xbox Video Marketplace don't either.
fuck it, im out...on this note, does anyone legitimately use xbox's video service???
A couple years back when it was still the Zune service (unless that was something completely different) I bought an episode of the Kardashians that my girlfriend missed for the convenience of it downloading and streaming straight to the TV. I found the whole thing so messed up and counter-intuitive I ended up just downloading it from a torrent and biting the $2 (or whatever) loss.
fuck it, im out...on this note, does anyone legitimately use xbox's video service???
I do, since I don't have cable anymore. I tend to get season pass on Anime since it's sometimes cheaper to get that then the DVD collection copies like those S.A.V.E. from Funimation. I might just buy the more recent Mythbuster seasons since I haven't seen those in about a year or so.

i don't buy from xbox video, they can lose the licenses to videos at anytime without telling you and if you have not downloaded them to your hard drive you're out of luck. the most recent outrage was over Prometheus being removed a few weeks after it came out. no thanks
Before all is said and done, I'm sure we'll get one for using their XBox Music service.
Yeah, I'd almost guarantee it.

We shouldn't be surprised I guess though, it's MS.
has anyone gotten anything from the first punchcard?
I think I remember seeing the Rewards account tweet that you should get things by the 30th yesterday.

Silver Lining - I began browsing Xbox Video out of curiosity and boredom to see if there was any content I had any interest in purchasing for this month's My PunchCard. The prices on HBO's Game of Thrones Seasons are more than I'm willing to pay for digital only Xbox Video copies (for that much, would rather wait for a sale on the Blu-Rays)... but I did find out that HBO is currently offering the first three episodes of True Blood Season 1 for free.
I think I remember seeing the Rewards account tweet that you should get things by the 30th yesterday.
I havnt gotten a thing and I got all 3 cards done
I havnt gotten a thing and I got all 3 cards done
The site said on or before May 30th so it might be another 3 weeks before anyone gets anything.

The regular deposit dates are the 15th and 30th of the month. When Rewards said we'll get points by the 30th I figured that meant we would be getting them during that deposit date. Often I get the points sooner than the dates, so I'm guessing we'll get the points sometime during the last week of May.
i don't buy from xbox video, they can lose the licenses to videos at anytime without telling you and if you have not downloaded them to your hard drive you're out of luck.
Sometimes when "purchasing" from Xbox Video I've see it mention that the item will unavailable for download after a specific date. I've always wondered if there's a way to check my Xbox Video account for a list of all upcoming expiration dates.

Yeah, and the punchcard points will probably become pending in time for the May 30 deposits. The points for my April MyAchievements points weren't shown as pending the day before the recent deposits, but they still cashed out then. The punchcard points probably have all month to show up as pending.

All I ask for is a picture of your avatar using/wearing whatever it turns out to be.

Looks like it's a couch (woo?). Going to take a picture now. Also, you posted your code.

EDIT:
Yeah, so, here it is.
FCmFldp.jpg

You sit on the couch and play with a controller, then you pull a sword and shield out of your ass, then someone throws you a football, then you start shooting some dart gun until you end up on the couch again.

I also with the codes were labeled in the email. I wanted to use the 1 month of Gold code on my girlfriends account. I used it not knowing it if were another avatar prop or the MSP. Protip (for me): The prop code is on top, the Live code is on the bottom.

"Atari-published games, which you should assume will get de-published as soon as its game licenses/IP are sold off in bankruptcy court. "

does this mean that the game room titles will be delisted?

Got my email for both codes. Points are pending too. Fantastic rewards deal in April. I hope they do something similar more often.

That's actually not that bad. Glad you grabbed it and not a lurker.

Oh, no. I didn't grab it. I used the code that was in my email. Looks like a lurker snagged it. :/

I thought they transferred on the 15th which also wouldn't make sense for it to go through today.
So we only need to spend $100 to get 1600 points? What a deal
I know everyone is poo-pooing this deal as at regular prices for m$ it's pretty lousy. I wasn't able to get any of the $5 1200 pt cards, but I did get a truckload of 1600s for $12 a pop. After refund, I'm looking at $48 for five games, two copies of each, which isn't too bad. Also hoping Bioshock Infinite comes out on demand and I can get a punch off it (even at 4000 pts, that's only costing me $30 for two copies, which beats eBay). Anyways, I just wanted some advice on some games.

List so far:
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit: Definitely worth $5 a copy, much more entertaining to me than Most Wanted was.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Glad I didn't jump on it when the price dropped to 1600 pts. :)
Alice Madness Returns: Wasn't on my radar until the free online pass opened up the original, so $5 for both seems decent.

Maybes:
Legend of Spyro: I got a little niece that might enjoy playing a pink dragon.
Enslaved: I remember being interested in this game before it came out, but it fell off my radar.
Fight Night Champ: I really like Round 4, but not making your own boxer for the story kind of turns me off.
Rayman Origins: I know it's been on sale previously, but this works out almost as cheap as 800 pt sale prices. I keep passing on it cause I don't know which Rayman game to start with, and straight platformers get really boring and repetitive with all that jumping and dying (although I LOVE Battleblock Theater).

Probably nots, but maybe I missed something:
Dungeon Siege 3: Was tempted until I heard that co-op doesn't save progress for 2p.
Soul Calibur 4/5: I guess it was 2 that I played a ton and it looks like the Conquest mode I really enjoyed went bye-bye.
LEGO Indy 1/2, Harry Potter, or Pirates: My nephew loves Lego Batman, but I'm sure that's at least 80% Batman. I find these games terrible; crap camera, unintuitive puzzles, hard to see what's going on or where to go, boring... but if I'm at 4/5, I might pick one of these up for my bro's kids.

Trying not to get too pigeonholed by that list, as between now and July 15 there could be a couple games on sale that would still fill a punch.

Thanks in advance for any advice/opinions.

good list. Rayman origins is pretty great. I'd never played one before and looking at footage of earlier games in the series, this looks to be the most accessible. I'd say it has less 'jumping and dying' and more 'jumping and trying to get 100% of the "coins" in each level. watch a youtube trailer, the art style is great and its pretty decent platforming.

for those who got in on the coupon that shall not be named, its an ok deal. However I'd hope people refrain just on principle-this is a pretty weak promotion like last months was, and the more that buy in the more it shows them they are doing the right thing and should keep up with the sub par promotions. MS has had some greats sales/promotions in the last 5 years dont get me wrong, but the terrible far out weight the good, and all we can do to speak up is not open our digi wallets. /rant

What do you mean two copies? You only get one copy from On Demand :p

And Enslaved is fun, it's not something that stands out a lot, but it was pretty enjoyable and everything works well in it.

Maybe he has two Xboxes. He can buy a copy on his secondary 360 and play it there as well as his primary (or any other 360) as long as his profile is online. More info here.
