Love Exposure (2008) - Just as good the second time around, still one of my favorite movies.

Dr. Strangelove (1964)- Wasn't expecting a comedy coming in but I was pleasantly surprised.

Spoiler

"Gentleman. You can't fight in here. This is the War Room"

I watched The Lost Boys The Thirst (not to be confused with The Lost Boys The Tribe). I picked it up after seeing an advertisement on another movie that caught my attention. After reading quite a few glowing reviews I decided I had to see it. Surprisingly, particularly after The Tribe AND the fact that it was a direct to video release, it was a pretty decent movie. The production values were pretty damn good for a direct to video release and the story was at least somewhat interesting while still taking some fun jabs at Twilight.

I just finished "Scream 4" the other night, and it was pretty entertaining. Much better than parts 2 or 3. I have mostly ignored the horror genera in the past, but I am going back and watching all the big series in order. Next up, Halloween.

Real Steel - 2/10
Would be better if it was a game... more fighting robots and less pre-pubescent children.

I have to completely disagree. This movie was easily one of the worst I saw last year. The music was an abortion of sound at the best of times. The whole plot was beyond predictable from the very beginning of the movie. I wanted so much to like it but man I hated it so much.

The Magnificent Seven (1960)- Loved the scenery and the story was easy to follow. All the characters were likable, and the movie had a feel good tone to it.

Definitely some stretches in terms of plot decisions but the "twist" at the end is fucking brilliant.

50/50.

Rango was way too long. The movie wasn't that great to begin with, but it dragging on for so long made it awful.

The Grey was okay but a stupid ending made even more stupid by the after the credits scene. Also showing stuff in a preview and then not having it in the movie is bullshit. Even more so when it was arguably the coolest part of the preview.

That film was such a hack job. I'm going to spoiler from here on out since I discuss a few things that are spoilers....

Spoiler

New sig coming soon.

Innkeepers - 3/5 - Ti West film. Guy who made House of the Devil. During the filming of House of the Devil the cast and crew stayed in a small but older hotel. This hotel is the location which is where Innkeepers takes place. Supposedly they added a bookcase to block a bar area and a deer's head on the wall. Rest of the hotel is how the place actually is which I find to be pretty cool.

The movie is a slow burn like House of the Devil but
Spoiler
The performances were pretty good throughout. The nerdy guy i thought was pretty entertaining all the way to the end of the movie. You get some great lines of dialog like the whole "i am not trying to scare you but im totally standing right behind you" moment. I have been a huge Ti West fan since seeing The Roost & House of the Devil, sadly Innkeepers doesn't stand up to those quality movies. If you want to see a slow burn ghost movie, innkeepers is for you...but I think a lot of people will find it more Borekeepers than anything else.
