Moonrise Kingdom.

Not Wes Anderson's best, but still pretty good.

Best way I can describe that movie is 'delightfully inappropriate' lol.

Skyfall

Was never a fan of Daniel Craig as Bond but Javier Bardem as villain was brilliant although I do wish there was more backstory on his involvement in MI6.

Skyfall - Solid Bond movie but Casino Royale is still better.

40% of that movie is Bond playing poker

Well, you can't blame it for false advertising.

21 Jump Street was just ok. I went in blind and after the first 15 minutes I almost stopped watching. It does have its moments, but overall I don't understand the high praise from critics. Far consistently funnier movies in the same vein but I will concede the driver's ed car scene had me rolling.

Watched the Avengers and Get Smart. I have very little complaints about these movies, and would watch them again if given the opportunity.

Not really. They showed them actually playing poker for maybe 15 minutes. Casino Royale is pretty much the perfect Bond movie. Action, chases, cars, girls, double cross, twists, torture, etc. What does it lack?

Watched The Amazing Spider-man again with the girlfriend. Still like it more than Raimi's versions. Looking forward to the sequel.

Agree on Casino Royale, but I'm not a huge Bond fan and only own the Craig ones so I can get why some Bond fans might not like the current iterations. Still need to see Skyfall.

Agree on Spider-Man. It makes me want to have the old trilogy wiped from my memory. I don't love the Lizard himself, and we're going to have to go through the Green Goblin shit again, but I thought they completely nailed Spider-Man as the character I remember growing up.

Also, the Death of Gwen Stacey story should make for a great movie. If they approach it all right they could get 5 really strong, not monotonous sequels out of this.

I don't get the love for the new spiderman. I didn't think the character was that close to what I've seen.

End of Watch

I quite liked it, a little slow in places (my girlfriend got a little bored) but I enjoyed it. I read online people complaining about the camera work, however I feel without this cinematography style the film just wouldn't work - it needs the shaky cam etc

Holy Motors- It's fun and interesting. I've had a day to think about it and I don't think there is any specific underlying message to the film. I was wondering if it was going to somehow hit me after the movie like say El Topo did (that movie messed with my emotions starting like 15 minutes after the movie ended. Never did I go through a mixture of laughs, sadness, joy and something in between). So I think Holy Motors is just there to be weird and out there. I did notice I was enjoying the sound effects during quiet moments. They just massaged my ear drum the right way. Main actor was superb objectively speaking.

If you do like it check out "Tokyo!" (2008). It features the green leprechaun character and then there is this awesome movie about a girl that turns into a chair. It's a collection of 3 shorter films. I liked it more than Holy Motors.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter = had already read the book so I knew not to take the movie seriously. It was a pretty good movie. Sure there was some "not-believable" CG
Spoiler
, but overall, it was a good buy for $15 (bought the 3D version but I didn't get a chance to try out the 3D). I'm still kind of mad they didn't
Spoiler

3/5

The Raven= didn't get a chance to see this one in theaters so I was waiting for it to come out in bluray. Loved John Cusack as Poe. Thought he nailed the way I perceived Edgar Allan Poe was like. Like the mystery story they wrapped around his poems/books.

Watched Prometheus, and the only other movie I saw in the franchise was Alien. Just as terrifying though I didn't think they really NEEDED a live giant, unless there's going to be further stories in the franchise right? The corpses would've been enough, especially since it's all about the facehuggers. I would've been fine with Robot David as the real villain of the story, but now I want to see more of Shaw's adventure throughout the stars.

I just watched Prometheus finally myself.

I thought it was ok. There were some things left on the cutting room floor I'm sure, but the biggest question I have is why the engineers would've created us and then changed their mind and wanted to kill us. Hopefully their motivations become clearer in the next movie. I know there was a guy in the official Prometheus thread saying this film went against canon, but then cited the comics and AvP of all things.

I'm guilty of not seeing any movie in the Alien franchise. I don't consider Prometheus to be part of it. Did enjoy it, though some parts felt rushed or didn't get the emotional response they were trying to get out of me. I think somebody on this board said there is no Director's Cut coming which is a shame. Maybe they were wrong.

Here's one post. There's much more, but you can read the official thread here.

Now to your point of trying to explain things....no. None of those things are true. That is what I hate about this movie....it deliberately goes against all of the canon of the franchise. Space Jockey ARE NOT HUMANOIDS...period. They state in the original movie that those were bones and in the Predator universe there were always humans with nothing supporting that Space Jockeys pre-date Predators. Since they have been using earth since they found it. They did not create fucking xenomorphs they were the first victims of xenomorphs. It was already explained in other canon forms of media. The pyramid in AvP is actually a Jockey pyramid and they are ones who sacrificed themselves to them.

The last two movies I watched that I liked were The Descent, which is a horror movie that I personally thought was awesome, and also an indie type romantic/relationship movie called "Like Crazy" which I also would have to give top grades to. Both are on Netflix and if you like horror movies and romantic type movies are both stellar.

Scott said he wasn't doing one.

The blu ray extras disc has deleted scenes. Most of them would improve the flow of the movie a bit, but none of them are ground breaking or change anything major/add any new info. They would just flesh out some character motivation better etc.

Of course, maybe there's more stuff on the cutting room floor they could add back if he changes his mind.
