Pre-Order Final Fantasy XIII-2 "Crystal Edition" "Limited Edition" (European import)

Where is the best place to pre-order this for shipment to US?

Btw, the steelbook pack is a pre-order bonus, instead of being part of any edition of the game. So it is possible that some retailer would screw us by not shipping it outside of Europe because of the extra weights?

Actually now that I look at it it is from europe, wonder why SE would send me something from their europe company when I don't even have an account or anything from there. Stupid if you ask me and it's just teasing the US fans.

What a misleading thread. Put UK only in the title before you get US fans believing that S-E actually likes them all of a sudden.

If you read my post above yours you'd know that I didn't know it was Europe only.

What is with Squeenix and their aversion to giving US fans some type of special edition? I don't get it. Final Fantasy will sell..

I enjoyed Final Fantasy XIII enough to preorder this. It was garbage compared to IX, but then again, so are most games.

More than the actual gameplay, I enjoyed the art and the music. Says something for a game when it looks and sounds so good that you can overlook its generally boring, repetitive and uninspired gameplay.

Bring it to the US please.

Then now that you know, please edit the title. Thanks :)

crystal ed already soldout.. i just preordered the ce for ps3. came out to US $73.67 shipped. kinda pointless to preorder 360 version since its PAL/region locked. paying an extra $13 for an artbook, physical soundtrack cd, lenticular print, 6 postcards and international shipping is cool with me.

ill probably cancel if something similar is released here in the US
So when are they releasing it in the EU?
comes out in feb 2012.
this thread made me curious to check my email for zavvi coupon codes and lo and behold 40min ago they sent me a coupon code for 5gbp off of 45gbp. preordered the ps3 collectors ed, as the crystal ed is sold out.
if a US crystal ed is available ill just cancel the zavvi order. thanks op

The PS3 version should

The PS3 version should work as they are region free and that the one i pre ordered. Its UK only for the pre order stuff as its a mixed bag on whether they will ship to america.

I have a friend thats pre ordering me a copy from AUS so i can get the Crystal Edition in all its goodness

Why do video game companies think the US doesn't want steelbooks? It seems almost every big release internationally gets a steelbook version except for the US where it is a rarity when we do have one.

It doesn't help US is the weakest market out of the 3 region.
Why did this game get a sequel? Final Fantasy has fallen so far over the edge.
Because despite all the hate from fans, most still went out and bought the game. S-E doesn't care whether you like the game or not as long as they get your $60 for the game.

Everything I've read sounds like this is the game FFXIII should have been. If they pull off a 180 for the series then why not?

Exactly. The 360 thrives on pretty much US sales alone. maybe he means just for JRPG

Fans of the Final Fantasy name went out and bought FFXIII. I was one of them; a mistake I won't make again. Also, Square Enix has to care whether you like the game, look what happened with FFXIV. Square is such a damaged company, financially and aesthetically that they are soon to fall and free enix from it fist, as well as all those talented developers zombied into the same ideas while restricting potential. "Towns are to hard to make"... really? Who do they think they are, indie development. Lazy shits. I hope they die with that type of mentality, well deserved.

I agree. 13 wasn't bad( as a game), just over the top in ways it didn't need to be, I think they got stuck in advent children mentality and just forgot it was a game. 12 is still my favorite, although most won't agree, I loved the combat system, kept everything interesting and moving.

XIII was a linear path leading to shit at the end, like a one-palette brown rainbow that leads to a pot of horse crap. 12 was oright though.

*sigh* this shit probably won't be available in the US. The PSP collector editions they have in Europe never come here so I have little hope for this. I don't know why SE does collector editions only in Europe, I really doubt their games sell way better there.

FFXIV I think is a different animal because S-E has never been known for their MMO's. Its predecessor FFXI wasn't a huge hit either. The main flagship single-player FF's however, has had a long history of success. So the typical fanboy still holds on to past glory and with every new single-player FF, their hope is "oh this will be the game that will return FF to what it used to be". FFXIII got a lot of hate, and deservedly so, but I have no doubt that FFXIII-2 will still sell millions because the majority of the hardcore fanbase will still purchase the game with the hope of what it could be.

For a second, I thought hell had frozen over and SE NA was going to bring it over. Why couldn't they do preorders only for a collectors/limited edition? Surely they wouldn't lose money that way. I guess they said no more CE after FFXII.

Even more maddening...why must SE NA offer different bonuses for each store? I want the book, Serah costume, and Omega! But how many people can afford to preorder it at all 3 stores...

Man, just because the Final Fantasy brand seems to be tainted, doesn't mean that SE is ruined as a company. Especially now with Eidos and the Enix with the Dragon Quest franchise, they'll be fine. Kingdom Hearts is probably a bigger money maker now than the FF games.

Anyone order from zavvi before. If you have how good are they at delivering to the US and do they include the preorder bonuses.

Every year a representative from each region get together and have an arm wrestling competition, and the US rep lost again.

wow that is so nice.. would be amazing if they do this for the Asian (Chinese & English) version release, since that is the one I'll be playing.

The steelbook is a preorder bonus, so there is no guarantee that European/Aussie retailers would ship it with your game order internationally.

What, we couldnt send one of our many, many, really fat guys? This is America, dang it!

I can almost guarentee that EVERYONE but North America will get preorder deals/special editions (or at most offer NA an overcharged gimped version of an LE everyone else gets). Square has treated their NA fans like this for a few years now unfortunately so it would not be a big surprise if all NA gets is the worse preorder dlc ingame item code available and that's it.

Not trying to break anyone's neck over this but that's been something I have observed over the last 5 years or so with SE :\

I am betting it wasn't a USA rep but a North American rep and we got stuck with some canadian representing us.
