Permission was given for this thread by the creator of The Official Toys R Us Clearance Thread, Jaysapathy, on more than one occasion. This new thread also contains markdowns, not just clearances.

Toys R Us Clearances & Markdowns

- When reporting finds please use this format:

DS – SKN - game name - $19.98 (former price)- $9.98 (current price)

- Please include SKN #'s if possible.
- Dates are when prices were changed by TRU or original/further drops reported by CAG members.
- Note: Games are often price dropped numerous times, i.e. down to $19.98 then to $9.98 & then to $5.00 & then possibly $3. So a game reportedly dropped to $5 may have already sold out weeks earlier.
- Games may not be marked at their current prices. TRU clearances and markdowns are generally nationwide so they should ring up at a clearance/markdown price.
- If you buy a game that later drops in price you can either get an employee to refund you the difference, or if they can’t, then return and rebuy the items.
- sometimes stores will mark their items down sooner than other stores based on sales/inventory.
- Most TRU’s offer store credit for trade-ins, which you must bring to the service area and have ID.
- Do not talk about selling/reselling.
- Do not call TRU and ask about clearances.

Okay, now is all that bickering finally dead now? Please, countless nights of lost sleep due to that thread has made me very pale and underweight. I only eat Applewood Bacon Hot Pockets now to survive.....Sorry, but its nice to have a new thread... :)
 
Good luck! Maybe if you take the "Official" out of the title, it will last more than a day. I must say I found PS3 Eye of Judgment at a local TRU for $20. When I got home, I checked drop lists and saw it in yours, but not the "Official" one. I've got no horse in this race, but appreciate your attempt and will still check your list wherever it ends up.
 
I truly have never seen someone act like such a petulant child over something on here. I'm sorry I ever made commentary on this mess and I'm disgusted I was party to this whole situation in some small way. And with someone taking 10 hours to make a thread that's such a visual trainwreck with font colors, I think they should be spending their time on something more constructive. Certainly something that's far less of an artistic mess.

Until jaysapathy decides he's done with the thread he's done, he's running the main official thread. This one won't be official until he says he's done with his thread.
 
In all fairness you told me to create the thread. The colors were different originally and I changed them because people asked me to. I asked what colors would work best for people. I'll try a new color now. I already said it needs further formatting as it got changed when I added it to CAG. I'll work more on that now.
 
As I said, I'm sorry I said it, especially since I didn't know we'd have such a hissy fit going on over this whole situation. I should know better next time I make such a suggestion, and won't again in the future. Especially with some people taking this to a level that is truly sickening.

I think that shrike made a uninformed post and you have taken advantage of it. That is the only thing that is keeping your thread from being locked. I can already tell that you will be bumping this thread every chance that you get to keep it above the other one. Before jaysapathy took over, the previous OP rarely updated the first post so not getting consistent updates is nothing new. Some prefer it that way and some don't. I guess we will be getting the exact opposite in this thread as you seem to update every hour on the hour*.

* yes, I'm am greatly exaggerating so don't get riled up.

Regarding the colors, when you highlight what seems to be every other word in different colors, you get something like this. My advice to you is to take a look at the Target, Sears, K-Mart and TRU clearance threads and follow those examples. Subtle differences are easier on the eyes and the brain, regardless of the background color. If you have to include a detailed key in the OP, then that might be a sign that something isn't right.

Regarding the colors, when you highlight what seems to be every other word in different colors, you get something like this. My advice to you is to take a look at the Target, Sears, K-Mart and TRU clearance threads and follow those examples. Subtle differences are easier on the eyes and the brain, regardless of the background color. If you have to include a detailed key in the OP, then that might be a sign that something isn't right.

Nice effort and all on the thread. I personally could give a rat's ass about who runs it. You were challenged and took jay up on it. Made a point. Blah,blah, blah. I can't believe the childish behavior between both of these individuals. Let it die. Your last post in the other thread just continues to show the immaturity. This thread should be locked and any future bickering amongst people should result in temporary bans. I'll just go back to the threads where everyone is happy until you two kiss and make-up.

No, I didn't. I really don't care to join the argument as to whom should run the TRU thread. Honestly, I don't care. What happened before doesn't change the fact that, even though a Mod merged his thread to the other one, he still created this thread. My post is in regards to J7's behavior after everything went down. It sucks that he wasted his time on making an OP but he's still being petty.

Sorry if this is a stupid post, but I've never used one of these threads before so I'm a little confused. So if I call TRU they'll say that the games cost more than they do, but if I go and buy them, they will be rung up at the sale price? I'm just trying to make sure, because I see 5 games on there that I really want. Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia for $20 and Mass Effect, Mercenaries 2, and Need For Speed Carbon for $5 each is a fantastic deal! I mean, I can get 5 games for less than the price of one new one. So is that how it works?
 
Your best bet is to go to TRU and if they have the games in question just ask them to scan them for you. TRU clearance prices are mostly universal from what I gather, so even if the price on the shelf is higher, it will most likely ring up lower.
 
So again I am going to weigh in on this, and I am sorry to prolong this, but this thread should not exist. I don't care who is the one who updates the TRU thread but there is an official thread which is run by jaysapathy, and it is a waste of everyone's time for there to be 2 threads. It is especially a waste of the mods time to have to mod 2 TRU threads. This is why I presume there is 1 Sears thread, 1 Target thread, etc. It does not matter that jaysapathy challeneged J7 to start a thread, this only serves to clutter CAG, and since it is unofficial it should be merged to the official thread. Again I don't care who runs the official thread, but there should only be 1 TRU thread.
 
I wonder if Jaysapathy is truly a TRU manager, if he could do a trade in thread instead. He would have access to that info and this way, J7 can do the clearance thread. Much needs to be done in the TRU trade in market.

Just a suggestion.
 
hmm......I like this thread. But seeing that i work at Toys'R'us electronics department its a shame you guys dont get to see the other clearance deals that goes on. Like the cannon digital cameras that went for 25 bucks, the Creative 4gb mp2 players that went for 11 bucks or the sharp 15" lcd tvs that went for 90 bucks.:whistle2:k

People who haven't seen the situation are going to be very confused by the fact there are two TRU clearance threads, and they may think you're a jerk.

I know this is a little off topic, but I remember seeing Overlord listed in a tread a while back. I don't remember if it was a mark down or not. Does anybody remember/know what it goes for now?

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I was looking for it on the Xbox 360. Thanks to anyone that can provide helpful information.

No one would have an idea what a games trade in value is until the games UPC is scanned into the video game trade in software. There is no option to look up a game by title.

Does that stuff actually last that long in your store. The only time I see low prices like those at my store are for things that got stolen and the prices continue to update because they still show inventory on hand.

Way OT, but a few years ago, I found a $180 telescope that dropped down to $6.98. One of the best drops I found.

This thread is better organized but what a bunch of nonsense with the drama.

ONE thread for each store should be the rule period. If the OP drops the ball a mod takes over, end of story.

I was being sarcastic (without much success by the looks of it). You do a fine job with the Target thread and I doubt anyone would actually have a problem with you going 5 days without updating the OP.
 
I fully support this new thread...because if someone is lacking, then they should get out the way!

The problem though: I haven't willingly stepped inside TRU in years....so this thread won't benefit me unless they just had "THE DEAL"

I think that

1) J7 should quit arguing with a mod, that doesn't seem like a good idea

and

2) The mods should make a freaking decision and actually demonstrate some modding where it's needed. Two competing threads? Honestly. Regardless of who's side you're on, that clearly should not be happening.
 
Agreed, that there should be one thread per store.

Disagree, that J7 should just get up and leave after putting in the time. J7 is trying to help everyone here to get deals.
 
I am all for organization so I will show this thread some love.

I picked up Blast Works for $.35 thanks to the cashier's mistake. The game was $5.35 after tax. However, he forgot to ask me for my rewards card so I got a $5.00 gift card.

I doubt anyone can do this since the one and only computer that has the software is located in the Customer Service area. I know if I tried this at my store, I'd get ripped a new one from my manager. (I've thought about it)

Also, since TRU does not set the trade in value for the games(the company the games get sent to do this), there is no way to tell when a games trade in value changes.

Yeah, but we have no way of knowing what they might trade in for either. Also, games get returned all the time, and you can scan the games to be returned and nobody will ever know.

Theres ways around everything. Like I said, no need to scan everything in 1 day. A game here, and a game there would be nice.
