ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh woooooowwwwwwwwwwww thanks op!
quick guys, what can we get for $5 for fsss???!!!!
Get Amazon Prime and you wont have to worry about that. It's well worth it if you order from Amazon a decent amount and even if you dont theres ways to get it free for awhile.
Hopefully the "Greatest Hits" on the thread title will keep this thread from becoming a 10 page debate on whether or not this is going to be clear case or red case. haha

Thats exactly why its there haha. I know I really wanted the normal 3D-ish black label case but not this one.
i'm in hawaii though so i can't get prime. not allowed to get the student version of prime either.
I was gonna say that sucks for you... then I read "Hawaii"! You kind of wave your complaint rights when you live in HA. Must be nice to walk to the beach after a bad day...
Stuff costs more, but you guys pay less tax. I pay 9.75% tax thanks to Chicago lawmakers! w00t.
The superior 360 version is $31.57
That's a 3rd party price. Amazon is OOS on the 360 version or it would be the same price.
If you don't have both consoles, you should probably do some research before making claims like these... Because it just makes you look bad if you're wrong.
Then again, if you're a member of this site, and you like gaming so much you would post opinions on which console is better, shouldn't you have both consoles by now anyways? I mean, Amazon Warehouse Deals thread should make owning both consoles fairly easy with sensible budgeting.
How do I get them to match Splinter Cell from Best Buy ... lol
Of course the local store had none available in my town.
Find Splinter Cell Conviction on Amazon's site, scroll down till you see the link that says 'tell us about a lower price' in the product description section, click on the link and enter the information about Best Buy's sale price.
Then just keep an eye on Amazon's page for the game to see if they match it.

Actually the correct abbreviation for Hawaii is HI. Don't they teach you youngins anything nowadays in school.
And yes, I'm being sarcastic and not trying to pick an e-fight.

Maybe you missed their user name, but it's MSyesMan(aka they're a MS fanboy possibly), but personally I get the feeling as if they're just on here to troll people. Take at look at their prior posts. Just saying....
As for having both consoles this gen, don't you mean all THREE consoles since the Wii is in this gaming gen as well.
What does the gott edition have for extras? Just challenge rooms or more story?
Comes with the two maps that you need to pay for online, unless you got them both from GameStop and Collector's Edition. Anyway, they were the Dem Bones and Crime Alley ones I believe.
Really nice price. Missed out on the Newegg deal around BF for a few bucks cheaper so glad this deal came along. Got a Amazon gift card as a gift yesterday so this is perfect. Thanks OP.
Does one play the coverart or does one play the game though? I guess it goes back to the red case/clear case thing
and some people even go so far as to nitpick about having ONLY PS3 cases with the words Playstation 3 along the top of them besides them being clear case
. But hey, you like what you like, even if it is a sickness according to many shrinks.

The clear/red debate is one thing, this, however, is something else entirely. I'm one of those who prefer black label games but surely there aren't those who actually care whether "PlayStation 3" is written along the top of the case. I'll be the first to come to the defense of someone who prefers black label over the greatest hits, but anyone who goes as far as to nitpick about this either has a disorder or is just plain foolish.
Darn! I was waiting for the GOTY since I missed the newegg sale and ended up purchasing the regular version from Amazon when they did their daily deal a week and a half ago.
Does the Joker portion and the 3D glasses (and playing in 3D) warrant an upgrade to GOTY?

The Joker stuff is included in all PS3 versions of the game. Only the 3D glasses and new challenge maps are unique to the GOTY edition.
I haven't seen the 3D but the reviews say it doesn't suck, but it isn't great. Personally, I don't like playing video games while wearing cardboard glasses over my eyes.

As far as "greatest hits" packaging goes, these red cases are the first ones I've ever seen that actually look okay. In fact, with some box art they're kinda badass. Swapped my bro for one so my Bioshock 2 could match Bioshock, looks sweet. I just wish they hadn't taken out the lenticular artwork on Arkham Asylum GOTY. That and the avalanche of text are really the major losses with this edition. A real shame since everyone knows that game quality is based entirely on sound and packaging.
At least it's AmazonTote eligible so I didn't have to get filler. Hooray!

The mountains of text detract from the cover art. While it's not an integral part of the gaming experience, it's still nice to view the cover art as a piece of art that accompanies the game. With some games it seems more like a movie poster advertisement than a periphery of the experience.
Certainly won't stop me from buying a game (same with greatest hits cases), but it's a minor annoyance.

LoL... I wasn't going to say anything but I saw your post but yeah, he is right. More useless knowledge I picked up from working at UPS. I used to know zip code ranges for every state but that was years ago! If I think really hard I might be able to remember.
If the 3d glasses didn't give me a headache while playing I might consider getting this but I think I'll pass.
For those who are bummed the 360 version is gone, I'd say if you can find the reg. edition for less, then just go ahead and get that. Amazon has had the reg. edition for the 360 for $14.99 in the past.
As for the platform debates and statements that you should own all three, I disagree that such an approach is necessary this generation. IMHO, one needs only the Wii and EITHER the 360 or the PS3. Given the big guns are multi-platform, the arguments for owning both the 360 and PS3 are not greatly convincing this gen.
I own a 360 (always loved the controller -- not a fan of the dualshock). I personally don't care which console Batman looks better on and don't care to argue; this is a solid game and worth playing, whichever system you have.
I bought this for $30 in a local store. I purchased it again in Amazon. I will return the new one to the store. Also bough Super Street Fighter 4 for $16.94 with it to get the super saver shipping.
Man. Picked up the regular version for $15 from Amazon... How much more content (is it worth it) to get the GOTY version now?
If I remember correctly the only thing exclusive to the GOTY edition which was not in the normal version is 1.)old-timey-3D support, and 2.)two pre-order bonus challenge maps, one which was in the CE (crime alley) and one from game stop (dem bones). All the rest of the DLC challenge maps were free downloadables for the non-GOTY edition. So if you don't care about cardboard 3D support, then there is little reason to pick-up the GOTY edition over the standard version. If you absolutely MUST HAVE THEM, you can purchase them for $3.49 each over PSN (and I assume a similar equivalent for Xbox 360).
The one extra thing you would get for rebuying for PS3 instead of Xbox, is the Joker challenge maps.

Wow thanks! That is one of the most informative answer posts I've seen. You rock.
After all that info, for me it's not worth it for the 2 challenge maps and playing as the Joker on the PS3.
i finally decided to pull the trigger since the official ps3 slim stands are back in stock ($9): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002OLV32M
great deal on the stand! my ps3 gets all wobbly when playing gt5
