Its not so much the drinking age that matters. Its more that drinking is part of the culture. The people there are much more forgiving when minors drink (unlike here in the states).

Now I am not saying that its wrong or right. I am just saying thats a way of life there.

Oh, right - I totally agree with you there. We are waaaaay too uptight about those types of things here but it really can't be helped given how our country has developed. Most Europeans use the trains and public transportation whereas everyone here drives cars. Alcohol and cars don't mix. Also, most towns over there are so old that where you live is typically close to the center of town (walking distance) so you never have to worry about finding a ride home...

Yep. If it is legal I don't see the big deal. It's amusing because there are probably tons of envious kids in America who want a shot like that on their Myspace profiles, lol.
 
Who do we know that's over 18, knows her, and would want her to become intoxicated?

Theres a drinking age over there? Not from what I gathered was in Europe with my father, I'm a military brat.

As long as you don't drink to much. It will fuck you up if you're not completly grown yet. And I say that from experience. I've known enough people who attest violently that smoking and drinking at 14 or so is what stunted there growth. But I think old Hermione has nothing to worry about. She's grown up enough.

Heh, yeah... one of my college roommates was an alcoholic at 14, he's 5'4"... though he's also Indian, so its hard to say which was the main factor there.
