Idiot has reported some lasting for 2 months iirc... I probably wouldn't count on more than a few days/a week. (I've got Risen 2 komplete locked at $7 from last week than I'm still a little uncertain on because I'd probably be better off actually sinking some hours into Skyram -- I've barely touched it.)How long do items last in your "purchase queue"? You could always start the purchasing process and leave it hanging for a few days to see what happens.
And before that it was $1 (for a steam key, $0.01 w/o) in September's HIBone out of 4 is a game that was handed out free just a few weeks ago on another summer sale, wow...
Please don't mouth off. You clearly weren't watching GG on their summer 2012 sale.Yep, so much for good deals, I've given up on waiting for nice deals, now I'm just hoping for glitches, GG isn't probably a good sale store, it's the glitches what made it be what it is.
Summer 2012 wasn't bad, but Christmas 2011 was the best! I actually printed out some screenshots of that sale to make a Gamersgate Christmas 2011 Photo Album that I leave on my coffee table to impress my guests. Please don't mouth off. You clearly weren't watching GG on their summer 2012 sale.
At least this year, GG had the worst deals. There's still some days left.. but nowhere near GMG or even Steam itself. Christmas sale wasn't bad either. But for now...nope. And yes, I didn't know GG exist before christmas :/Please don't mouth off. You clearly weren't watching GG on their summer 2012 sale.
They really aren't. Not that they've never had a good deal but usually the only reason to take notice is because you have a stacking discount (IGN/Beth), pricing errors or because they have some relatively obscure title you can't get from the other places. Their day to day sale pricing is pretty unimpressive.GG isn't probably a good sale store
It's not a FPS, it's a TPSWell... maybe not as terrible as prior days...
Resident EvilThe FPSRaccoon City - $7.50 ($6 for me)
Steam has it for the same 75% off (daily next 34 hours).. same $7.50... but has a complete pack with all dlc for $10
So, I guess the real question is - is the game actually decent? It's not a FPS, it's a TPS
Worth noting, the Echo six DLC's are basically the second half of the campaign that was cut out to sell as DLC.
I think I beat the base game in about 4 hours, the echo six stuff is even shorter than that. It has several multiplayer modes though, but I'm not sure if the community is dead or not on PC.So, I guess the real question is - is the game actually decent?
How long is the base game?
How long is each Echo Six Expansion Pack/DLC?
The Echo six packs are about 3 hours combined...maybe 3 and a half.@Jon7
The reviews for this RE:ORC thing are like RE6: all over the bloody place - ugh!
If only there was demo...
Any idea how much shorter each Echo Six Pack is?
Or how much more that DLC content itself all adds up to in total?
BTW - I wish Capcom would re-release RE1, 2, and 3 for the PC.
I'm not really that big of a big RE fan - I've only played RE4 and RE5 on the PC.
Though, I thought both were awesome.
For Campaign/Coop, yeah it's a lot like L4D . For versus, no, that's more like Gears of War.Thanks for the info, Jon7.
RE:ORC looks a lot like the Left 4 Dead series, actually.
Would you say it's similar to that?
Thanks for pointing that out, I got all excited when I checked from my phone this morning and was ready to buy it. $2.50 is my price point on that game and it looks interesting.Too bad Din's Curse doesn't activate on Steam.. I'd have bought it.
Thanks for the info. For Campaign/Coop, yeah it's a lot like L4D . For versus, no, that's more like Gears of War.
KOA is still on sale.... thought I missed that one. Guess Ill buy it sense the steam version is never ever ever going to go lower. I have another 13hrs to put it off some moreThis weak sale is a little baffling to me. I mean, this is supposed to be their big summer event -- you'd think they'd want to actually, you know, sell some games and make money? Their top seller is still the KOA Bundle.
Anyway, thank God I didn't buy up some Blue Coins like I had planned for the sale. Thought I'd be doing a lot more buying and maybe using the UK site so I considered topping off my current supply. Dodged a bullet there.
I did bought some BC, worst decision ever, I really had faith in the summer sale, but not a single deal I want to buy, we're about halfway through idk and there's nothing kind of interesting.Anyway, thank God I didn't buy up some Blue Coins like I had planned for the sale. Thought I'd be doing a lot more buying and maybe using the UK site so I considered topping off my current supply. Dodged a bullet there.
No, I think elder-geek.com is dead and don't know if they ever started a new 5% off code.Any extra coupon codes I should be aware about?
Last time I used, what is it, IAMELDERGEEK I think, it gave me 5% in blue coins, but no actual discount on my order. That was last week. No, I think elder-geek.com is dead and don't know if they ever started a new 5% off code.
Huh, I didn't find anything in the game to be similar to those games in any way. Funny how different people interpret games. For Campaign/Coop, yeah it's a lot like L4D . For versus, no, that's more like Gears of War.
C'mon Ashes, if you're gonna make a crack on REORC, you can at least get the camera type and name right (Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City).
Damn if the gameplay is like Spec Oops: The Line... I'm tempeted... it's still $10... it's still $10...My last mini-review of REORC when it was on sale on GMG:
The game isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. It's a serviceable third-person cover shooter in the Resident Evil universe with a nice mix of characters, character upgrades, and great zombie shooting physics. It's nothing special, it's not doing anything that similar games of the genre aren't doing, and it has its flaws, but it's still a solid game (for that price).
Huh, I didn't find anything in the game to be similar to those games in any way. Funny how different people interpret games.
If I had to compare it to anything, I'd say it's more like Spec Ops: The Line in terms of gameplay (pretty standard TPS cover shooter gameplay). I'd say multiplayer is way faster paced and deaths come much quicker than in Gears of War, but it's a cover shooter so I guess that's not a terrible comparison.

While the combat in Spec Ops: TL was fine, it was absolutely the story and character development that made that game as amazing as it was.Damn if the gameplay is like Spec Oops: The Line... I'm tempeted... it's still $10... it's still $10...
Well, I say Raccoon City, because of a silly image in my head of a RE remake with Raccoons subbed in for people (no this doesn't have to/probably shouldn't make sense to you).
Honestly Syndicate: The FPS was in my mind when I wrote this... I'm still waiting for Mario/Sonic The FPS >.>
You're probably right, I'm clouded by too much Spec Ops TL nostalgia.... what I'd give to play it again for the first time. ...was worth the $25(?) I paid for it (with BS1+2). I should probably play my copy of BinDom.While the combat in Spec Ops: TL was fine, it was absolutely the story and character development that made that game as amazing as it was.
Granted, I ain't played RE:ORC - but, I doubt RE:ORC would even be in the league of Spec Ops: TL, in terms of story and character development.
Nah, I didn't say the story was like Spec Ops, just the gameplay. REORC comes at the Resident Evil story from an interesting angle, since you play as Umbrella agents who are trying to wipe out proof of Umbrella's involvement in the Raccoon City incident, so you're playing as antiheroes (although I think you play as the good guys in the DLC).While the combat in Spec Ops: TL was fine, it was absolutely the story and character development that made that game as amazing as it was.

Well the campaign is basically get from point A to point B with a group of 4, so that's why I say it's similar to L4D, REORC levels are better structured though since they're not designed to be both coop and versus levels. And I honestly compared the multiplayer to Gears because it's the most popular TPS cover shooter I could think of that I was sure people would at least know. I agree about your point in comparison to Spec Ops, it is faster, but it still does compare favorably to Gears because melee is viable to be used unlike in Spec Ops. In all honesty it is a little different than both those games because there are quite a few melee enemies where you're better off kiting them out in the open than staying in cover.Huh, I didn't find anything in the game to be similar to those games in any way. Problem for me will be - I ain't played RE1-3. So, I don't really know much of the events of those games.Nah, I didn't say the story was like Spec Ops, just the gameplay. As far as storytelling and character development goes, don't expect much. It's a competent cover shooter with a story that's nothing special. It was the gameplay and character upgrades that I enjoyed.
Parallel to RE2 and RE3. RE2 and 3 actually both take place at the same time.Problem for me will be - I ain't played RE1-3. So, I don't really know much of the events of those games.
RE:ORC takes place parallel w/ the events of RE2, right?
Good to know.Parallel to RE2 and RE3. RE2 and 3 actually both take place at the same time.
Fuse never got a PC port - which is expected, since it was made by Insomniac.Well the campaign is basically get from point A to point B with a group of 4, so that's why I say it's similar to L4D, REORC levels are better structured though since they're not designed to be both coop and versus levels. The game I'd MOST compare it to is Fuse...which nobody played.
You should play Binary Domain - it's awesome. You're probably right, I'm clouded by too much Spec Ops TL nostalgia.... what I'd give to play it again for the first time. ...was worth the $25(?) I paid for it (with BS1+2). I should probably play my copy of BinDom.
