Doing my first playthrough on Hard in TLoU. Getting past the dudes with the rifles and spotlights in the rain was difficult, but eh, I think I enjoy avoiding guys altogether since the stealth killing is a bit cartoony, and the combat/gunplay is pretty awkward. I just restart checkpoints if someone opens up on me. I assume enemies/weapons change later on, so I'm looking forward to getting past the Summer chapter. There's a lot to like about the game so far, but it does give me a feeling of someone just slowing down the Uncharted engine a whole lot.

Yeah Panzer, the weapons in TLOU eventually get so amazingly overpowered that it makes every encounter almost braindead easy.

Really, a game with a all female cast sounds like my kind of game. I should try playing it someday, I don't know. It'll be too hard to pick a main.

Yeah, I think I enjoyed it a lot as I barely used the more power weapons as I was thinking ammo would be more scarce and there would be bosses or hard sections with a ton of bloaters or something later on that never came.
So I played it very conservatively and seldom used any guns other than in the forced shootout sections where you either had infinite ammo or the waves of enemies you had to wipe out were constantly dropping ammo.
I don't think I'd have gotten as much out of it if I'd just shot a bunch of stuff or used the
flamethrower

And 3 playthroughs because the difficulty trophies didn't stack. At the point I finished the main game, I was missing just the two trophies remaining for the easy and hard difficulties, I think, so it was on to two more playthroughs to get the plat done and sell the game. I did the back to back to back too because I knew I'd never pick it up again if I stopped. It was bad. :lol:

Then there are the two fan voted choices (Eliza, Beowulf) and Robo Ms. Fortune, I think.

That's the beauty -- you can pick a single main or two or three even... there's so much variety in the system from allowing the different sets of "team" structure. The game is amazing to watch when people get their crazy combos going too. The stuff Severin was pulling off at EVO was nuts (shame it's removed from the newest builds).

I'm in the middle of October time frame on my first play through now. 51 hours or so.
In my limited time with the game, I was trying to use Parasoul, but I couldn't get the whole Dr. Strange orb placement shenanigans to work with my preferred playstyle.
I think I generally used Valentine/Filia/Cerebella.
I'm thinking if I run 3 in the newest version, it will be Valentine/Squiggly/Filia... at least until Eliza comes out and I can see how she plays -- if she really does have enough similarity in design to Donovan from Darkstalkers, she's an instant add for me.

I went to go look at the kickstarter stuff and they had a note that there was some gameplay design influence* from Litchi. So yeah.

(1) I just took midterms and some class project festival thing is coming up. I just got the last member of the party, as far as I know. Personas are weird, as I'm probably glossing over the system to be sure, but I generally find myself filling up my spots, running out to the velvet room and fusing everything i don't have, and if what comes out of it is good, (with my transferred skills) I just use that one, otherwise I go back and rebuy the ones I wanted to keep. I have some Hakuto something now as my main and it's hanging out with a Black Frost and something that looks like a creepy starfish. I really like the default party for the most part, but since I've been trying to grind some levels and work toward the stupid Hardcore Risette Fan trophy, I've been using almost everyone. I've come to like Teddie a lot more now, so it's usually MC, Yosuke, Yukiko, Teddie. I do not know if I like Naoto yet, as I have not had the opportunity to explore that party member. For social links, I maxed out Marie already. The sports guys are pretty high up as is Yukiko and Dojima. I think everyone else is mostly in the 3-6 area. I love the game so far though I find certain parts of it frustrating when I want to go do thing (a) and it's not available on the current day or I get forced into doing something I don't want to do that day instead. I think it's the best JRPG I've played in recent memory and am very glad I bought P3P to check out afterwards. I hear P4G is the better game, but P3P is still good. Right now I'm focused on trying to finish the game properly and move on to get NG+ started... I'll probably take a break before I really dive into NG+ though, as that's going to be a grind with trying to get all SLinks MAXed and reading all the books.
(2) Yeah, it's funny, sometimes they list a character because of a aesthetic design commonpoint or even a single move... so I'm hoping the stuff with Donovan isn't just limited to planting his sword and calling it back. Anyway, she should be awesome. She was one of my top 3 from the start. I just wish Black Dahlia would have made it... that would have made up for the lack of Cable in UMvC3.

I don't know why it took so long...I just watched the opening...I didn't skip any cutscenes as this is my first playthrough.I can plat MGS3 for you in less than 5 hours
Or if you want Fox Hound Rank I can do that in under three and half hours. All on the Vita too of course
Game started with a history lesson, some Russian dude, JFK, then Snake jumping out of plane, then get your backpack, then they start talking again.
That stuff takes time...lol. Not sure how I could have sped it up.
Lol. Having just finished MGS2 after all these years, I'm ok with it. There was a point I considered dumping the series all together, glad I stuck it out. I have a crazy notion to be caught up by MGS5 time but we'll see. One step at a time.
