anyone try wicked monsters blast hd for a buck yet?

god mode?

and are any of the Sound Shape dlc packs actually level packs?
wicked monsters blast is kinda like a crappy version of the old Point Blank light gun games. its not terrible i guess, if you are dying for something to use your move with. i wouldnt really recommend it though.

Thanks a lot for the info, everyone! You confirmed my suspicions. I need to remember to regularly back up my Vita to my PS3!

However, where on the Vita can I see a list of PSP game save data? I'm assuming it's buried somewhere in the Content Manager app?
Settings > Application Data Management > Saved Data (PSP/PlayStation/Other)

Rather have something to show for the games I play than nothing. I enjoy being ranked among the top. Nothing wrong with it.

Besides I would rather play the games I buy than to just have an addiction to buying and collecting games that just gather dust.
Wasn't exactly criticizing so sorry if it came off that way. I like de trofiez, too! It is cool to show off what you've played and completed, but I'm not far gone enough to buy a game/dlc solely for the intent of accruing more. I honestly do think devs have tapped into the psychology of it all.

God Mode seems kinda cool, but not cool enough to add to my triple digit PSN backlog.
Beginning to think the constant mention of backlogs is a projection of some sort. :whistle2:k

I guess Home Run Derby is free forever, it doesn't show an expiration date. Cool. Got my Hitman too. Don't think I'm biting on any sales this week.

I only bought sound shapes because of the praise here. In the end it wasnt appealing to me. Not a bad game but not as amazing as eveyone made it out to be. It was VERY basic. The DLC i did buy just to get the game back to 100% as it annoys me when games are dropped below due to dlc. I only buy DLCs when they are either cheap or on sale. Unless they are for a series I love then I dont mind full price. So I dont buy games solely for trophies. They are an added bonus.

i wouldn't consider sound shapes basic at all. full integration of music into levels, a robust level creation system, a robust community level selection with a wide range of styles/difficulty, beat mode, death mode...

i mean, yea, i can understand it not being someone's thing... but 'basic' isn't really a word i'd ever use for it.

We're just going to have agree that you're wrong here. No, but seriously, you and I are complete opposites in that regard. I have so many of the dreaded 0% in my trophy list that I can't be bothered to care, lol. I'll say, though, I don't agree with DLC affecting completion percentages. Bit unfair.

Free MLB 13 Home Run Derby? Wow, thanks Sony for pissing on us who own the full game.
Really not sure if serious, lol. Can we please start using some other idioms around here?

Im not trying to put it down if thats what it sounds like. But gameplay wise it was basic. Im not into creating my own levels which seems to be the main thing to this game much like little big planet. Community creations seems to be where these games shine but I dont like spending my time messing with it. Dont get me wrong Im glad its selling well and people enjoy it, just not my cup of tea.

I will admit that Sound Shapes is the only game so far that I immediately deleted after finishing to get my precious memory space back on the VITA.

at least cag didn't run full stern into gaf and end up with tubs full of piss. people hold onto memes like they're gold.

but yes, slidecage is reveling in the chaos he caused. but hey, that's okay, the result is that his inflammatory posts have been ridiculed so far into the ground that they'll seem like self-parody from now on.

Sound Shapes Birthday Extravaganza!!!

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/08/06/happy-birthday-sound-shapes/

Seriously, some good sales on game and DLC, plus free avatars and car mini-album if you post on a Community thread.
YES! I freaking adored Sound Shapes and have been waiting on the DLCs to drop. Beat School was one of my favorite parts of the game, so even if they aren't new levels they are worth it to me. Psyched to play the Car album as well, so awesome they are giving it for free.

This just feels like a week made for me. First Rayman, now Sound Shapes ^_^

you can get all the trophies in that home run derby game in like a minute.

some cag tried to sell it to me last week for $2. ;) i counter offered with $.50 or something, lol.

glad lots of free stuff. already have all ps+ this month, but still awesome deals.

Thanks Frisky always.

Godmode is an ok game, I liked the nice fast paced arcade action and the tests of faith(random modifiers that altered gameplay) kept things interesting. The game gets repetitive real quick though, specially since you have to replay the same 5 maps and kill the same type of enemies over and over again to level up and upgrade your armor, weapons, etc.

for $5 you could do worse, the game was design with multiplayer in mind so you shouldn't get it if you plan to play it solo.

Exactly the same thoughts I had. Beat School was way too short for me so I'm happy to get more levels there for cheap. Maybe I'll finally dabble into making a level now with all these fancy new sounds.

Thanks for keeping the thread up to date and especially for the heads up on the Dragon's Crown voice packs. Probably won't be picking the game up for a while so I would have completely missed them.

Now to find enough free space to install Hitman. Going to have to get through Xcom or Deus Ex, probably. (Or abandon them....or ignore Hitman for now.)

wasn't there supposed to be a demo for dragon's crown, or did i miss a post about that somewhere?

i have to stop coming in here. i always leave feeling like i have to piss :(

Normally when I purchase from the playstation store I can just pay the exact amount with my credit card, but when I go to purchase all the dlc for Sound Shapes it is forcing me to put in $5. Does anyone know why this is?

Minimum $5 has to be added to the wallet at a time.

I know I read that somewhere this week too but now I can't find it myself.

fucking PlayStation Plus.

Every month I'm like, "I'll try to get through my enormous Vita backlog" and every month I add at least five to ten games more thanks to IGC and the wonderful sales.

Was Sound Shapes 7.50 last time it was on sale too? I'm always tempted to grab it, but I didn't really like the gameplay of the demo. I did like the other aspects, but wasn't sure if it was worth it just for that.

gameplay is pretty much the same across the albums, so the only real draw I can see for you is the different art/music (which is fantastic, but probably not enough to get you through the game). It has always been $7.49 for regular users, but it has been $3.74 for PS+ atleast once.

yeah ps+ is insane with both freebies/deals.

not all ps+ but just today i got rayman 3 hd, homerun derby, dragon's crown, ibb n obb, hitman absolution, wicked monsters blast. it's insane. and i just thought i did a good backlog week by knocking out socom 4 and re revelations... im starting to think Sony doesn't just want out money, they just want us to constantly be playing games. (and growing weak, i.e. south park's pokemon episode ;) our very big american :)

It's all about getting you so deep into their ecosystem that if you ever think about switching you won't want to because you'll lose so much stuff. Now I hope that they realize at some point that sooner than later that it also backfires a little in getting people to adopt to the PS4 if they can't take those same things with them.

I want to replay through Rayman 2, so I assume Rayman 2 Revolution is a better purchase than Rayman 2 The Great Escape?
Has upgraded graphics and maybe a few other tweaks. I think Revolution is also supposed to have a higher difficulty but I can't speak to that. The main benefit to sticking with Great Escape is if you would rather play it on the Vita.

the hub world is also different, and it has actual voice acting vs the gibberish that characters spoke in the original. Maybe other tweaks as well, but that is just what I gathered from a brief video.

another slow week for me because i already own everything i want that's within my price range (i desperately want dragon's crown, but simply can't afford new releases like that).

anyone who doesn't have rayman origins should definitely pick it up. on vita, it's a must play imo... it was well worth double the current asking price that i paid a few months back.

escape vektor is solid if you're on the fence. watch some youtube... if you think you're up for it, it's extremely well done. i can't just give an open recommendation because it's got rather unique gameplay (sort of a combination of puzzle, racer, and qix). i love it.

sound shapes is worth supporting. solid music-ly integrated platformer with a huge library of user created levels. not for everyone, but i think it's worth a playthrough if only for the beck album.

it only makes me want a ps4 more. i am extremely interested in all 4 announced games for ps4 on ps+

drive club psn+ edition -- i love racers, and this is by the motorstorm people. it would be my first buy, except now i can try it out and buy KZ or BF instead, assuming i can successfully save enough $$$.

don't starve -- very well reviewed action rogue-like

secret ponchos -- dual stick shooter, the number one psn game i wanted from the e3 reveal because i loved the style.

outlast -- survival horror.

and with a guaranteed ps4 game a month (indy)... the switch is easy. the f2p games like warframe and planetside will also help.

True, though I personally don't consider those things upgrades when the gibberish is part of the character of the series and the hub worked fine in the original but to each their own.

I get what you're saying but if they had backwards compatibility of at least digital stuff I would have already had a PS4 paid off. As is I'm happy to wait and play through my ever growing PS3 collection.

Just a heads up. In addition to the store update, Tekken Revolution is having it's Mokujin Festival event from Mon until this Fri. You get lots of Tekken cash, gift points, & xp. No Tekken coins though.

Regarding Rayman 2, the PS1 version is a port which removed a lot of stuff from the N64 and Dreamcast versions. It's missing entire levels and secret areas. The PS2 version adds all of that stuff back in, along with some new content as well. The voiced dialogue is an option and you can set it to gibberish if you want. There is literally no reason to get the PS1 version unless you value being able to play it on the Vita so highly that you'd rather play a flawed version of the game.

Now that's good info, hadn't seen that anywhere else. Guess I'll get both then at that price.

Thanks for the information EldritchOnRye, MrNinjaSquirrel, and TheSporkWithin! As much as I'd like to play on Vita along with the original Rayman, I guess I'll just stick with Revolution.

nice to see Hitman available, I recently traded in my 360 version of the trilogy so I'll pick this up for free!

Also good to know about Rayman, I did love the N64 version back in the day so I may have to bite...

There's good news for people that never figured out how to do Auto-Uploads for saves on Vita, as 2.60 added a new PS+ icon on the LiveArea page for each Vita game that lets you do the manual upload/download yourself along with setting up Auto-Upload for that game.

Thanks for the heads up, though it still doesn't want to let me turn on auto upload from there so I'm probably overlooking something. One thing that I had no idea about until reading the update notes was that there's a menu when you hold down the PS button!

Edit- Found it. The update turned it off or changed the settings options so you have to go to settings -> PlaystationNetwork -> automatic update settings and re-enable that. Or maybe it's just enable for the first time since that seems different than before.

The amount of support Soul Sacrifice has received is just awesome. Too bad more games don't get this kind of support.

Thanks, wonder if this is a permenant freebie or termpory. Regardless, I'll be downloading it tonight and checking it out.

How much did it cost when it released? Does anyone know?

Actually the Cars one is a level pack, but you can get that free from posting in a special thread on SOA's community forums. The other DLC comes with beat school levels & trophies, but not actual pre-made levels where you roll your ball around.
Hmm...I'll need to do some Googling to find out about this free level pack thing.

EDIT: Doy. It was mentioned right in the birthday post. Reading is tough.

The only part about Sound Shapes I liked was Death Mode. I love the challenging platforming and wished the whole game was like that. I'm not a big music fan, so I agree with you that the main campaign was very basic compared to some other platforming games. I hated Beat School.

That being said, my inner-trophy whore is really coming out. Like I said, I didn't like Beat School, but 60 silver trophies for like $3 is really tempting. I think Breakfuss mentioned it, but it's crazy that I would contemplate buying something I didn't like just for virtual awards. I'm interested to see if I do end up buying them or not.

True, though I personally don't consider those things upgrades when the gibberish is part of the character of the series and the hub worked fine in the original but to each their own.

I was just pointing the differences out, I'm actually with you and prefer the animalease and easy to use level select of the original (which is the version I bought) :whistle2:

Mine wasn't turned off, so I don't know what happened for you.

Shoot, wish I'd known this before I bought it. Guess it will have to do, I can always boot up the N64 version if I really want more I suppose

Yeah, I was on the fence about which one to get and thought that I could deal with a slightly lesser graphical experience to play it on Vita, but did some googling to see what else was different. Apparently the PS1 version is the worst by far, with Dreamcast being the clear winner and Revolution just behind it.

Sorry if that's been covered, this thread is moving to fast to keep up with:

Which Raymans should I be getting? I already own and really like Rayman Origins.

I am thinking Rayman 3 and possibly Rayman 2 Revolution.

Any opinions on those? And are the older ones any good?
