I'll buy SR4 whenever the hell I want, you can't stop me no matter who you are!

In the meantime, thoughts on Van Helsing?  An ARPG in that settings sounds like a total blast if the mechanics are good.

I recall someone (UtopianMachine?) gave a positive overview of the game a week ago or so. I'm thinking of starting Torchlight 2 soon though so I think I'll pass until Van Helsing is 75% off :)

Wow, here's something I never expected to read:  Yes, I washed my hands......

This week’s Humble Weekly Sale is a party of four Introversion Software games and amazing goodies!

For the first 24 hours of this weekly sale, paying $19.99 or more will get you instant access to the Prison Architect alpha and the full game upon its release, DRM-free and on Steam Early Access! After the first 24 hours, you can still get the game with a purchase of $24.99 or more!

That was my reaction as well.

Actually, my INITIAL reaction was one of excitement, because I saw "Humble" and "Prison Architect" and foolishly thought it would be on sale for $5 or something.... but nope!

I think these type of humble weekly deals are nice. Still just $1 for the games, plus a chance for a newer game at a decent price. I'd get this if I didn't already buy Prison Architect during the sale.

Humble lately, I don't know about those guys. $20 for 24 hours like they are doing us some favor? It was $20 on sale already during the summer sale.

The rest of those games are moldy and have been bundled before.

re: SR4

You guys know that damned game is going to be like $20, then $10, then $5 then bundled. Just wait. Also it's going to have a shit ton of DLC which you'll be compelled to get even though you know it's useless crap so just get it later as a pack. You don't need it day 1. You want to play a FPS with people running around and doing weird shit, just go back and play SR3 again for a bit.

$33 is something you can do better on with patience. Don't do it.
True, but remember that Saints Row IV isn't under THQ's dirt cheap pricing regime now. Deep Silver is a bit stingier, and loves 66% off as their deepest discount, oftentimes. It'll get cheaper, of course, but I doubt it will get as cheap as SR3 did so quickly.

Then again, you could always just wait for the next Humble Deep Silver Bundle... where you can buy SR4 for $20.

In addition, it's especially wise because of the modding bonanza we'll see from Saint's Row 2 and 3 sooner than later.

That scene might be engaging enough to keep your MIND off SR4.

I have never heard in my time as an Steam user of a game/key that is locked for Brazil/Latin America only. All the games sold on the Brazilian store are ROW (region free), including the SR IV Pre-order, so my best guess is that the keys sold on Nuveem are also region free. On the other hand i'll have to agree with the rest, buy it for that price if you're gonna play it on day 1.
Not only this, but times that I've run into games that likely have a different region's key, I haven't been able to add the item to my cart (this was with an Origin game). Even though technically Nuuvem is only supposed to sell within South America, I'd hazard a guess that they're fully aware that other regions buy from them, and that they like that...

In the meantime, thoughts on Van Helsing? An ARPG in that settings sounds like a total blast if the mechanics are good.
It'll get cheaper. Co-op is also broken. Don't be a Flowette fool!

I'm a cheap ass, but getting a $50 game for $33 on day 1 that I'm gonna play immediately is a good deal. If I can figure out how to check out of this site I'm gonna buy it. Nuuvem doesn't make you install their client or something, right?

I concur with Idiot's post. Every time I've shopped on Nuuvem, they will refuse to let you check out if the key is region locked.

No it doesn't. This pops up every once in a while, but as I've said before, Nuuvem is one of the best sites I've bought from. You can just reveal all your keys in the My games tab.

The only time you have to download their client is if its a non-Steam, uplay or origin game. So just check on the game's page on whether it requires steam.

I bought the complete edition of Assassin's Creed games (all of them including DLCs) during their summer sale for around $25 I think, and otherwise have a library of 19 games on there. I've never had a problem (other than Nuuvem refusing to sell me Fifa because it was region locked.)

Also: To check out, click the red button (add to cart) then it'll take you to the checkout page, choose paypal and click the green (finalise payment) button

Thanks for the Nuuvem info/advice, everyone. Final price $34.90 Canadian via Paypal. Just noticed they quote the EU release date which is 3 days after NA, hope I get my key earlier. :whistle2:(

I gotta say i'm surprised (or maybe not...), on one side is weird to see a big developer giving full modding power to the community nowadays, but on the other side Volition were the devs of Freespace 2, which not only is one of best Space Combat Simulators but one of the games with the biggest modding communities, mostly because Volition decided to release the Source Code of the game to the public. Good stuff.

Steam Beta: - Added new multi-user login and create account UIs.

They're getting ready to blast couch co-op support via software features. Interesting.

I'm going to wait years for the $1 bundle tier and laugh at all of the suckers who got it at 75% off.

You can stretch the waiting game for maximum discount as far as you want. Buy the games you want to play when you want to play them at a price that you're comfortable with.
I take it you read my post about the Pink Dildo Bundle with Saints Row IV. :)

every steamworks game I've bought from them, I've received an email confirmation with the steam key. ;)

Does everyone with a Castle Crashers avatar undercut the price of cards? Or is it the same one guy with all the cards I want to sell?

What the hell is that in it's mouth?!? I thought we weren't supposed to post naughty pics?...anyway back on topic. I was wondering why the Enhanced Steam plugin wasn't picking up Van Helsing being the same price during the Summer Sale.

damn, that's a mouth? it looked like a dick-nose to me

IIRC jshackles also liked it.
Actually, I loved it. I've been a huge fan of the action RPG genre since Diablo 1. I also really liked Torchlight 2, but I think Van Helsing is one of the best single-player action RPG I've played since Diablo II came out 13 years ago.

The setting is amazing, the graphics are great, the game mechanics are "just right" and everything fits together really smoothly.

Hands down the best part about Van Helsing are the skill trees. There is so much customization here that you could easily play the game 10-15 through and have a different playstyle or mechanic each time. Highly recommended.

I take afence with that, and I'll also take the gate ;) must be one, as I don't have cards, much less be able to play the games that have them :fridge: on the upside soon I will be able to get Cardz, but won't undercut :D/

Has anyone else been watching The International 3 for Dota 2?

A lot of great games so far. Dunno if we really have any Dota fans here or not.

Yeah, it doesn't always sort correctly prices in different currencies.
I've come across that before, but I've never seen it disorganize actual values. The difference I've seen is, say I list something for 10 cents, and then someone in Russia lists something for 10 cents, and their listing shows up above mine even though I listed first. That happens because the currencies can't exactly match up, so one of the listings is slightly lower than the other (or rather, their listing IS lower in value, by a fraction of my currency). The same goes for me if I list something for the same price as someone in Japan, mine will show up above theirs (or so I think, since I've seen this happen once or twice while listing stuff).

I can't think of any explanation for this though.

Cool. You can hand 'em down to your grandkids.

Incidentally, I hope they're more tolerant than you.

Although, now that I just thought about it just now, they'll probably be mixed like a can of Planters Nuts so bigotry would be partially detrimental to their self-esteem.

Go home Steam market, you're drunk.

Is it established that your name is a corrupt fusion of idiosyncratic and discotheque?

Do you frequent a nightclub that strictly prohibits X and employs a DJ who only spins "Faith" during her daily 8-hour set?

I do hope you know my name is ZENaphobe, not XENOphobe. I'm not afraid of alien things, just enlightenment ;)

When using SAM do you folks ever see games that you don't own show up instead of games you do own? I bought Cherry Tree High Comedy Club and instead Champions Online Free for all appearing

Cherry Tree doesn't show up because it doesn't have achievements, but you can add the appid (found in the store/community page link for the game) manually and still idle with SAM.

I assume the weird games that show up are free to play with achievements, as steam considers you technically to be an owner of all the F2P games it carries. Likewise all F2P games show up as green and owned on Enhanced Steam.

Champions Online Free is going to show up because... it's free and it has achievements.

Cherry Tree High Comedy Club does not have achievements so you'll have to add its app number manually in the bar at the top.

edit: ninja'ed!

A week ago. Spoder posted it in the GG thread but a few pages of GG banter failed to acknowledge it.

Until prices return to where I can make $800/week working from home, I refuse to idle for cards.
If they ever did, then you'd be scrambling to get those cards while people who have been sitting on them are cashing in. Food for thought.

Daily deal worth it (Duke3D + Shadow Warrior for $5) or wait for 75%?
Duke 3D is decent. Shadow Warrior is pretty awful. It's another 3D Realms game that tries to be Duke, but with more stereotypes and lame puns (the character is Lo Wang). And the original is/was free on Steam. 75% or don't get it is my opinion; you're not missing out on much anyway.

No equivocation there. Thanks for the review.

I loved Duke 3D but hadn't played Shadow Warrior. This video convinced me to buy.

Per my WL2 kickstarter email.

Wasteland 1 getting a separate release! (on Steam and GOG)

As you may know, we had a deal in place with EA to give all our Wasteland 2 backers (including late backers) a copy of Wasteland 1, which was to be integrated and launched from the game’s menu like the original Bard’s Tale trilogy into the new Bard’s Tale. We very happy about that, as we’ve always wanted to enable people to get back to the original, and it serves as a good refresher for the sequel.

We recently went to talk with EA to try and get it out in a different, separate format, and they accommodated our idea. We’ve now inked a new deal where we’ll be able to release Wasteland 1 separately. After getting the game in our hands and ensuring it runs on modern machines, we plan to distribute it FOR FREE to all our backers before Wasteland 2’s release, as well as sell it on GOG.com and Steam for anyone else interested in trying out this classic RPG.
